We signed a time share contract. When we realized that this wasn't a good investment. We contacted the customer service with in three days for the refund procedure. Customer Service refered me to the closing officer. I contacted the closing officer who told me that she will contact me back. When she called back she discussed changes in the monthly payment. When I informed her that we just wanted our money back and requested the refund policy. She said that she doesn't work for the refund department and is unable to advise me. She also said that she could lose her job if she told me she refered me to the contract.

At that point I thought it was definitely a scam. I went online and read information regard timeshare refund and I was still within my 5 day cancellation time frame. I was very upset that a company would dileberately stop you from receiving your refund. Everytime I called they requested my contract number before giving me any info. Once I gave my contract #, I was told the same thing over and over again. No one knows the refund policy.I continued you to call Westgate corporate, customer ervice and got no result each time I was refered back to the closing officer.

Finally I decided to call the hotel in Myrtle beach, when I did I asked about the sales departmentand I was refered to the Deeding Office. I spoke with a lady there who asked or my contract # again, again she tried to keep me as a customer by saying they can offer me a lower payment or even downsize. When I expressed the rescinding timeframe to her and what I read online about there company not including all of the purchase disclosure.

She then again refered me to the closing officer, I then advised her of what the closing officer said she then refered me to the contract. I explained that I read the contract several times and even had others reading, there was no refund procedures or policy listed. She then told me to look in the portfolio that they gave me. I looked nothing, she sent me to a sealed compartment that was not noticeable. This compartment was sealed with velcro, very thin. When I pulled it open there was an seal envelope with the Contract for purchase and sale that had the refund policy. THis is horrible. They are ripping off plenty of people.

THis is not fair selling practices, the closing officer intentionally hide the refund information. That explain why she asked for the briefcase/portfolio to place the paperwork herself. She hid the refund literature and left the other papers in another portion instead of keeping them together. That is illegal practice. I am sure that I wasn't the first one that it happened too. If I was persistent I wouldn't receive my refund in the timeframe allowed. Today is the 4th day since the contract and I have contacted the state of SC General Attorney's office as well. This business practice is malicious.
