The recruiters for this school lie, lie, lie. If your going for Animation or any kind of tech program AVOID THIS SCHOOL. Recruiters told me a bold face lie over the phone. A recruiter named Jennifer Stenback from the Denver, Co Campus told me I would gradute in a year and it ended up being 2 and a half years paying out more money over $40,000. I have taken 2 years of previous school of school and hardly any classes transfered. Some classes she said I didnt need I did need and had to take them.
Finacial Aid is horrible. Money doesnt come in on time seems like they hold it from you. They promise jobs after you graduate and I have talked to some and they are working in fast food places with a big fat loan to pay back. The teachers are to laid back, they are not really professional and dont teach everything you need to know.
Computers and printers are always down. I've heard these same stories about ITT Tech, Collins College, DEVRY and other Animation-Graphic Design Schools. They also Treat Minorities, African Americans, and Latinos like crap. I go to the Dupage campus and they act uptight and don't communicate with minorities well. YOU ALL NEED TO STOP THIS.
I don't know why these schools do this but they need to STOP.
These people are saying all this good stuff over the phone but when you get there its a another story. I feel like i'm kinda waisting time writing this because no one will do anything about it. But these people are are frauds. AVOID WESTWOOD COLLEGE PLEASE. IF YOU'RE READING THIS AND THEY DID THE SAME TO YOU LET THEM KNOW ABOUT IT ON HERE. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW THIS.

Westwood College Online is a complete rip off

In addition to Johnny's post, this school is unbelievably expensive but their system is very poor. They changed my student advisor three times (I think), my financial advisor, twice. They also constantly increase tuituion fees. I got dropped out of school for not logging in to my classes for two weeks without warning! And since I informed them that I won't be enrolling again, they were tricking me by saying I could log into my classes again and complete all my missing work if I enroll next term! I know Im stupid for enrolling in this school in the first place, but I'm not stupid enough to fall for their trap! I asked and requested information about how much do I owe them, and guess what?! I have to pay them $12,000 for an unfinished degree!!! They didn't even use all my Federal Grant!!! And they are still charging me $560 for the tool kit that I already sent them back!... I've been e-mailing and calling them to give me an information regarding my account balance and it took them almost 2 months to respond! And now that they gave me my information, they want me to pay them immediately!!!... On another note, I had an experience with one of their instructors, giving a D in class introduction! Unbelievable!!! How could anyone get a D in class introduction when you're basically just introducing yourself! This school should be stopped! Everyone who is not totally happy with this school should file a complaint!

I am the one who started the post back in August. Since then nothing has changed. Students sit and complain about it but no one does nothing about it. If you want to get something done folks you have to speaks up. Form groups. You cant do it alone. It has to be a nice size body of people that attacks the problem. Gather up some students and go to the head board at Westwood and let them know what's going on. If they don't want to listen then go to the State about it. But I find out something new about these people everydayhow they rip students off. It makes me sick to my stomach. Only reason i'm still going there because I'm almost done and also I have been in school or 6 years now and I'm tired and ready to be done. SOMEONE, Lawyers, lawmakers, ripoffreport, someone help these students. Westwood needs to be investigated. Everything that people have posted in this post is true.

I worked for Westwood College for about 5 months. I was hired through their Denver office but worked in Colorado Springs. I was a Student Advisor who worked very closely with Financial Aid and Admissions. For anyone considering this school, PLEASE be very careful. The Admissions dept works solely for getting the "numbers" for the month in order to keep their job. Do NOT pay the $100 to reserve your place in classes. This basically gives them (me) the right to send you books, register you for classes etc. So if you don't start classes, you have to pay for the books or pay to have them shipped back. And technically you have (i think) 3 days to request your $100 back, but they have 2 weeks to continue to call you and try to "save" you.
It was about 1 month before I started realizing what was going on. I really cared about my students and hated seeing them so upset or come to me saying they never wanted to attend - that they got conned into it.
My dept and Financial Aid became very aware of the tactics and started to question everything. By March of 05 both Student Services and Financial Aid in Colorado Springs had been laid off. I guess we started to know too much.
I can tell you that the instuctors are legit, the school is legit...but not accredited. So, if you want to go and take your degree to a 4 year college - it won't happen. You'll have to start from scratch.
Just be careful, never seal the deal on the first call. Make them wait, and ask them questions. Ask them to provide you with instructors and graduates to talk to before attending. You have every right to do so. Ask for a list of jobs / companies that you can work for after getting this degree. Then contact those companies and confirm it.
You're education is important and expensive....Do research before saying "Yes" and handing over your credit card info.

I have been attending the Ft. Worth, Tx campus since August 2004, for Medical Assisting. I have recently found out that I was also lied to about job placement, accredability, credit transfer, and all of the things stated in this posting. There are quiet a few of us that are not happy about this. I guess this is the Westwood way! I have lost 75% of my student loans and don't have enough left right now to change schools without having to pay close to $300/mo. I will have to wait until the next roll over to reapply, leaving me with double the student loans, and they already got paid for my third term, and I have dropped before that term started. I hope somebody looks into Westwood and takes them for everything they are worth!
