I am a mother of an adult son who signed up for school at Westwood College in Upland, California (a private trade school). After signing a ton of loan applications, my son was accepted to the college. He did very well in his first semister specializing in Computer Art Design. However, he decided to get married and asked the school counselor if he could take a few days off for his honeymoon and would be willing to makeup his work.
Westwood College staff said my son could not take any time off whatsoever. Of course, my son took a few days off to celebrate his honeymoon and when he returned to school, Westwood College immediately expelled my son and refused to let him back to complete his degree.
Most importantly, Westwood College made my son's student loan totalling $20,000.00 (for one semister of school) DUE AND PAYABLE ON THE SPOT/IMMEDIATELY with no opportunity to return to school to complete his degree. Nothing to show, no education and no degree, BUT $20,000.00 IS DUE.
My son had impeccable credit ratings with his wife, which has now been destroyed due to the delinquency of the loans from Westwood College. My son is working with several creditors to pay off the loans, but all for what? This is an outrage and people need to know that Westwood College is only interested in money and not the education of american students trying to get an education for employment.
