White Digital Media is a Fraudulant advertising company with offices in UK, USA and India. Here's our story and dealings with the White Digital Media con men.

We were approached earlier this year to book advertising in a magazine called 'Manufacturing Digital'. This is owned and operated by White Digital Media, and their website makes the magazine look very good. We signed up to book some advertising in Manufacturing Digital and signed the paperwork given to us by White Digital Media.  About six weeks later, we called White Digital Media and asked to see a copy of the Manufacturing Digital Magazine. They said (quite openly) that the magazine doesn't get printed and our advertisement is available to view online. I didn't quite understand and asked them to explain how they could charge excessive advertising rates for a magazine that doesn't even get printed.  White Digital Media simply replied by saying that "we should have been more careful when booking!"

I couldn't believe it. [continued below]....
..... I have been conned into spending thousands and thousands of dollars in a magazine that doesn't even get printed. White Digital Media and the magazines they run are FAKE. They are con men who led me up the garden path. And I can't do anything about it because they are based abroad. If White Digital media were based in Australia (where we are), they would be closed down by the Office of Fair Trading and the Police. But, because White Digital media are abroad (in India I think!), we can't do anything.  So, that's the reason for this warning. Our company was scammed by White Digital Media for advertising in Manufacturing Digital - a fake magazine that doesn't even get printed. What a scam. We can't get our money back from White Digital media and they have told us they won't even consider a refund. White Digital Media also run Retail Digital, Construction Digital and a few other scam business magazines. Don't fall for the scam like we did!

White Digital Media is a Scam

AUTHOR: Shelly Walters - (United States of America)

White Digital Media is a complete scam. There is nothing legitimate about this company. From the fake "prospectus" to their websites and so called search engine they have. White uses the same boiler room tactics that Schofield Media uses. I have setup a watchdog website specificly for these kind of companies. You can access my sites at http://www.magazine-scams.org and also http://www.b2bscams.com . Together with great sites like the rip off report, we can put these kind of companies out of business. Big thank you to Rip Off Report for letting our voice be heard.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

WDM Intern

AUTHOR: Frat Boy - (United States of America)

I worked with White Digital Media for three months as a social media
intern last summer in their Carlsbad headquarters. I dont know what
has changed since then so please dont think this is a conclusive view
of how things are now; I just want to give potential employees or
clients an idea of what I saw in my brief time there.

Since this was my first internship while I was finishing up school, I
didnt know what to expect from a company, but I immediately found it
odd that in the marketing department, everyone sat around their own
laptop, headphones in, creating fake social media profiles (with fake
names) and commenting on articles from the various WDM properties, to
create the illusion that people were reading the articles. As far as I
know, its still happening now. If you look through any of the companys
FB pages, its just employees talking to each other.

Honestly, these social media initiatives took up about 95% of my time
there. To get credit for my internship, I had to make up extra
responsibilities since they felt (as did I) that I learned nothing, and
spent my time doing vaguely unethical things.

Occasionally we would get a break from this and were instead tasked with
going through other digital magazines and taking snapshots of their
paid Front of Book ads, so that we could then put them in our
magazines to give people the impression that we had the same
advertisers as more established competitors. I never knew if this was
completely legal, though I had a feeling it was at the very least
grossly unethical.

As to the complaints about Glen White, I never had the pleasure of
meeting him, but on the occasions I would see him in the office, he was
screaming at someone about this or that. I got a very Napoleonic vibe
from him.

If you read any of the press releases put out by the company (they put
out thousands, though few are ever read by anyone other than the woman
at the press release company), they talk about how great their
internship program is and that it leads to full time employment, which
as far as I could see was true, since interns with no experience were
immediately promoted to managers and editors and "project managers",
though at intern wages. The program goes something like this: intern
for three months on very little pay (at the time $100 per week), then
becoming a temp employee for another three months while youre still
paid next to nothing and are not eligible for any benefits, and then
after those come on as a full time employee, though still making less
than a full time WalMart Cashier.

White Digital Media FRAUD

AUTHOR: JDFortune - (United States of America)

Just found this on another website about White Digital Media. It seems they are ruffling a few feathers!

"The same happened here. White Digital Media called us about some magazine called Construction Digital. We booked an advert to appear in it, at a cost of $7600, and the scammers never even printed the magazine!

White Digital Media and Construction Digital magazine are Fraudsters. How can they get away with this? It's a con. It's Fraud. It's illegal. White Digital Media should be investigated by the authorities, they aren't even giving us our money back.

How a company like White Digital Media can get away with scamming genuine companies out of advertising money is beyond me. It's total fraud. White Digital Media and this FAKE 'Construction Digital' magazine are blatant con artists. I hope they close them down the sooner the better, and one thing is for sure, I thank you for posting this thread about the scam as it may help some companies save money."
