Our intention was to find good homes and GIVE THEM to people that wanted a great dog. We own 26 acres of land and our dogs are NEVER on CONCRETE but have several acres fenced off for them where they can run and play in the sprinklers and play with their toys. A lot of our customers claim our ranch is a "dog heaven" and AKC's inspector that comes out yearly always state that "One day she would like to buy one of our dogs". She loves our set up. We are also as breeders licensed and get inspected by Animal Control yearly and we always get an A plus for our set up. We also have a lake down the road that belongs to our ranch where the dogs swim in the summertime. We take the dogs with us as we work and they follow us wherever we go without leash.
Our dogs are healthy and well kept and well fed. Not to talk about well loved. We have all health clearances on all our dogs that are breeders and this can be checked by going to the offa.org IF there were to be a problem with health in our dogs we WOULD NEVER breed on that dog again. We have spent a lot of money buying good dogs from reputable breeders and how now perfected our trusted lines and elminated lines that had any potential to health problems. It is not good business to sell unhealthy dogs because California has a Puppy Lemon Law which states that the person that bought a sick dog can sue the breeder for 150% of the purchase price. It would be insane to breed unhealthy dogs. Our dogs are well socialized and loved, however I do think they would find it scary for people to come pick them up and drop them off somewhere else when they don't know the person. It's like taking someone's child and giving it to another person and leave. We had no option at the time for the dogs sake then to place them in homes. We would have kept them ourselves if we could but any human being with a brain would understand that when your wife has LEUKEMIA working is NOT an OPTION.
Therefore you now see what motivated our donation of our dogs. Today we only have a few dogs and it's the perfect amount for a few people to manage and it's working out great. We are thankful for the help from the community and thank you for your prayers for my wife. There have been some very kind people during this process and some as you can see not so kind. It is truly amazing how evil some people are. All I can say is that I pray for you that you would change your ways but I would also like to add that you would stop pretending that you "Rescue dogs". We have placed other peoples "rescue" Goldens before too but never bad mouth anyone for it. I am sure that you have a true love for the animals but you should have equal love and respect for human beings.

Breeding guidelines from the GRCA.org website, with important points in bold:
a. Hips for U.S. dogs, a report from Orthopedic Foundation for Animals; or PennHIP at 24 months of age or older. For dogs outside the U.S., report from a health registry approved by the Golden Retriever club of that country (e.g. Canada - Ontario Veterinary College; Great Britain - BVA/KC Hip Score) A report from the accepted health registry of another country may be used for U.S. dogs that are 24 months of age or older when x-rayed.
b.Eyes appropriate report from a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ACVO) or from a BVA/KC approved ophthalmologist (Great Britain), or a report from the Canine Eye Registry Foundation. For dogs outside the U.S., a report from an ophthalmologist as recommended by the Golden Retriever club of that country after 1 year of age. Examinations must be done within 12 months of a breeding.
c. Hearts appropriate report from a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Medicine, Cardiology Specialty or a certification by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals by a cardiologist (the number will be followed by a C) at 12 months of age or older.
d. Elbows for U.S. dogs, a report from Orthopedic Foundation for Animals at 24 months of age or older. For dogs outside the U.S., report from a health registry approved by the Golden Retriever club of that country at 24 months of age or older. A report from the accepted health registry of another country may be used for U.S. dogs that are 24 months of age or older when x-rayed."

What I posted was a first hand account of what went on when a local Golden Retriever rescue came to take the male pups and retired breeding females that he couldn't sell.
I just put part of what the rescuer said in the last post. Here's the post in its entirety:
"I have been to the White Dove Ranch in Creston, CA, to help rescue some of the goldens they were culling from the herd, mostly overbred females or adolescent males they had not been able to sell as adorable puppies. These people are a puppy mill, pure and simple. The dogs are kept outside in wire pens with rudimentary shelter (a half shed) and a bowl of water. (You can see this, with a tarp added, behind the manager's picture.) Most of the dogs have had NO socialization experiences except with the other dogs in the pens with them. When we picked out the dogs we wanted (adults), they had to be carried to the car because they had never been out of the pens before. They were completely submissive to humans in that wagging tail/fearful crouch way that said "I want to like you but I'm too afraid." When we got to the park for the meet-up and lifted them down to the grass, they just sank, trembling, because they'd never been on grass before. The true saving grace is that they are temperamentally sound--fearful as they were, not one of them snapped or threatened us as we handled them; they just shook uncontrollably. There was one golden out as the man's companion--he too was for sale. Their dogs are stock, nothing more. I have followed several of these dogs after their placements and even with the best of homes it has taken years of rehab (even the puppies) to get them to be able to live normally."
Take two seconds and Google "White Dove Golden Retrievers". You will see that there are MANY complaints about them and their breeding practices.

White Dove has recently started a "club" with a very similar name to the extremely reputable Golden Retriever Club of America. He calls it the "Golden Retriever Club of the USA". It's not a club, it's simply a way for him to market his pups to a wide audience who are fooled into thinking that this is a legitimate place to get information about Goldens. He states that his own "GoldenRetrieverPuppies4u" kennel is "inspected and approved" by the GRCUSA - the club that HE started and runs! Pretty convenient, don't you think?
White Dove has at least 5 different aliases and websites that they use to sell pups. No reputable breeder changes their name as often as White Dove has.

We have had a White Dove Golden for almost 10 years now and he is the most amazing dog in the world! He is the most loving, friendly, patient, wonderful dog imaginable. We refer to him as our "first-born." Everyone who has ever met him agrees that he is an exceptional dog. Not only is he an integral member of our family, he is absolutely amazing with children ... he even did some therapy dog work at a senior home. Alzheimers patients who had not communicated in months actually spoke while they were petting him. He spent years going to work with me and even got special permission to commute on the ferry because he was such a great dog.
My sister has two other White Dove Goldens and they are also fabulous dogs. I can't imagine what must have happened to cause Susan in San Francisco to write such a report. I'm sorry she feels that way. Our White Dove golden is an absolute treasure.

So what a few ppl have issues with white dove, well guess what I bet 100 other ppl don't! I know many ppl that love their dogs from white dove! Your not perfect no one is and guess what all the testing in the worlds not going to help the goldens, they are over bred and in-bred/line-bred (same thing) by all the show breeders, they all die of cancer now, some as young as at 5 and 8 years and most of them get CHD, OCD, elbow dysplasia, even from tested parents and grand parents, goldens are a sickly breed from all the over breeding and in-breeding show breeders have done to them, like Pam Saxton who now uses the fake name Tubie!
And if it's not you Pam Saxton, then maybe Tubie will come out and give her real name instead of hiding behind rip off reports like the coward she is! Who makes rip off reports and doesn't even use their real name, who would give a person like that any credit or listen to them, come on ppl get a clue, if someone has something genuine to say they would give their real name!

What a beautiful puppy I recieved by plane, clean, well taken care of, in great health, great with my family within couple of days after arrival, joyful, happy and very sweet!! I could go on for a while.
I would recommend to anyone buying from them anytime, and I am thinking of buying from them again!!
Great follow up from Mimmi, quick and thoughful and that was what made me purchase over the internet with all the scamming going on these days.
I sent my money via a money order and didn't have a single doubt about it, and the result is what I expected, just a very promissing puppy!
That Susan is just a sour loser...

Health Clearances done in Europe
AUTHOR: Mimmi - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, October 05, 2008
If you are as committed as you say you are - get a CHIC number for your female and make sure that any male she is bred to has one as well. CHIC stands for Canine Health Information Center and these are the requirements to get one:
Hip Dysplasia (one of these)
* OFA evaluation
* PennHip evaluation
* OVC evaluation
* GDC evaluation
Elbow Dysplasia (one of these)
* OFA evaluation
* GDC evaluation
* OVC evaluation
Eye Clearance
* CERF evaluation
Annual exams until 96 months
Congenital Cardiac Database
* OFA evaluation with exam by cardiologist
In order to be issued a CHIC number, a dog has to have been tested and either been given a final clearance or if they do not pass, the owner must allow the results of the failing to be published. The dog must also be positively identified by a microchip, a tattoo, or some other permanent method.
For your female, she has OFA Hips/Elbows but there is no CERF data or heart clearance listed. Has she had both clearances done by an AVCO (Veterinary Ophthalmologist) and an ACVIM (Canine cardiologist)? If she has had these clearances done, why not send in the forms and get a CHIC number for her before you breed her?
In looking at Ludde's pedigree page on k9data, several things stick out to me. 1) His "OFA" number is a number for what is probably a prelim examination, not a final rating, 2) his eye clearance is merely a date, there is no other information given. If you look at the history of changes for his record, the same date was given as the day he got his heart, elbow and thyroid clearances.
Again, if Ludde has all of these clearances (OFA, PennHip, CERF, etc), then why were the forms not sent in to these registries so that ANYONE could verify this information? Why leave any question in anyone's mind as to why the health certs wouldn't be listed?

Never meant DNA was used everytime
AUTHOR: Vic & Linda - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, September 14, 2008
I never meant to say White Dove uses DNA testing on every breeding. When there is a lot of questions DNA testing is available.
When it comes to my planned breeding I want to know all there is to know. The pups are very expensive (a great deal more than White Dove) and I want the quality to equal the cost. Our pups are guaranteed for life. There is no acceptable disorders such as eyes, cancer, heart, hip displaysa, etc. during the life expentancy of 18 years. This is based on White Dove Dogs.
Feel free to log onto k9data.com and follow the lines of "White Dove Lady Winneford" (Winnie). You can see one of her test breedings (Winnie - Ludde). All of the pups are spoken for already. You can follow her lines back 20 generations or until the breed was first recognized in England in the early 1900's. All the tests you mention are standard for anyone trying to be a responsible breeder. I can't find any faults in my planned breeding. Obviously there is a lot out of our control. The use of DNA testing is not needed in every case. I would suggest it for new breedings. However you should know your dogs genes prior to breeding.
In the case of this breeding we can't find any faults. If you can be of help with information please come forward.

We have spent 16 years pouring love, affection, time, money, sweat, tears, joy and blood into these dogs. It hurts me deeply that people can just post any nasty thing they want on the internet for the whole world to see. It hurts me so bad that people speculate about things they know nothing of. Why not then visit White Dove Ranch before you mouth off about things you don't know? For you that wrote negative things; I have seen your postings on other sites, speculating about our dogs. Why not get on a plane and come see for yourself before you cast your opinion! And do you not have something more fulfilling in life then to sit and go through every record of our dogs. Meddling in our business when you can have a life of your own?
Do you really think that celebrities would purchase puppies from our ranch when they come in their nice limos if the puppies were not of top notch, healthy and clean? Not to mention CNN newsanchors that have visited.....wouldn't they turn around and walk away and not buy? Or if it was a bad place make a story out of it?
Once more I state: Our dogs do not live in filth but they are on the ground with grass, trees and bushes romping around playing in the lake and the mud doing what dogs like most. Like Vic Baglio said "a giant playground for dogs". They are never in a kennel or on concrete. We have 24 hour care for the puppies that are born and raised inside our house.
My only consolation is that my customers are extremely happy with our puppies, send us pictures and praises and updates and come back for more.
A little bit of humbleness and kindness would go a long way in this world. Angry people are full of venom and unfortunatly people feed and make money of off that. I think that what comes out of a persons mouth shows what is in your heart. Before you find fault in someone else you should look at yourself. If it is nothing but nasty things that comes out of your mouth, then your heart is full of nasty things too.

DNA matching & clearances...
AUTHOR: Tubie - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, August 27, 2008
As far as clearances go, I have found several White Dove dogs that have no clearances listed with OFA. While this doesn't necessarily mean that they do not have these clearances, I would question why, if they were done, was the paperwork not sent in to the OFA/CERF? The x-rays for hips and elbows are the expensive part, sending the forms to the OFA only costs $40. Cardiac database only costs $15 and CERF (which should be done EVERY year, not just once in a lifetime) costs $12 the first time, $8 dollars thereafter. In addition to that, both the OFA and CERF give discounts for breeders who submit several dogs at the same time. If they are using Penn-Hip, I would like to see what the distraction index numbers are for BOTH hips, not just the percentile value that Penn-Hip gives.
Now what you do with your girl is your business but before you breed her, please consider getting her heart clearance done by a canine cardiologist and her eyes cleared by a canine ophthalmologist. Unfortunately, your normal general practice veterinarian does not have the tools to diagnose or check for the kind of genetic disorders that a canine cardiologist/ophthalmologist can. You will have to take her to a specialist for these clearances. If you have already gotten these clearances, please consider sending them to the appropriate registries.

Here is my experience that I understand is typical.
I own a female from the ranch and she is perfect. You can log on to K9DATA.COM and look her up by her call name Winnie and then pick White Dove Ranch from the list. You can look at her and many other White Dove Goldens. Look at their longevity, the champion lines, the great hips, etc. Have fun looking at what excellent breeders produce.
I don't know anyone who has been around Our White Dove Golden who does not want one. In fact we will be breeding her at the end of this year and all of the pups she can produce have homes already. Did you know that DNA is used in the selection of male and females for breeding? White Dove Ranch is an exceptional place for Golden Retrievers. What more could a Golden ask for than a giant play ground.
When it comes to friendly and loving there is nothing that compares to our Winnie. She lets our grandchildren lay on her, try to ride her, dress her and yet she never leaves them. When we are out she has one expectation for strangers. Pet her or throw her ball for her. I have never seen her do anything but play with another dog.
She comes on the very first call. She sleeps on the floor next to me or my wife. If we have company she checks on them through the night.
I'm sorry I have the perfect dog and it was produced by White Dove Ranch. Professional, expert breeders.

When visitors come the "greeting squad" of dogs come and lick your faces! The statement that White Dove puppies do not bond well with people is something the author made up. The puppies are born inside the house and are watched over 24 hours a day. Every day they are handled to get used to humans. Once they eat solid foods they are moved outside in big play pens. Yes we breed a lot of puppies but that is not what a puppy mill is. If you want to know what a puppy mill looks like go to places like Alabama. According to our customers our ranch is "DOG HEAVEN". They get to roll in the mud, swim in the lake, play with their balls and sprinklers chasing the water.
All our dogs are handled by people that respect and love them. We have devoted 16 years to our dogs and were the first breeders in the US that made the English Goldens popular. Regarding the posting from the guy that wrote his dog was "dumber then shit". He did not purchase the dog from us. He was just stating that it is up to the person to make sure the puppy bonds with people. It is horrifying that one person's statement can give a good place a bad name just because people are malicious.

Regarding the posting from the guy that wrote his dog was "dumber then shit". He did not purchase the dog from us. He was just stating that it is up to the person to make sure the puppy bonds with people. It is horrifying that one person's statement can give a good place a bad name just because people are malicious.
