White Overnite-Novapointe Even after I cancelled the shipment & filed a claim, I was still sent to collections Ontario California

I am another victim of the White Overnite scam. Once I realized what was happening on their website, I immediately cancelled the "free trial" offer. I then sent an email stating I had made a mistake and to cancel any other shipments. I contacted my bank as soon as I saw the charges and explained they were unauthorized. My bank sent me a claim to file, and then cancelled the card that was used and returned the money. When I received the free sample, I returned it without opening the package.

Unfortunately, this is not the end of the story. Several months later I received a letter from some credit agency, stating if I didn't respond within a certain time frame, I would be sent to collections for $115.42. I sent a response letter, letting them know I didn't order or receive anything from this company.

Later I received a phone call from a representative from the credit company explaining that I was indeed responsible for the debt and there was nothing I could do. She even went as far as to tell me the Attorney General had already tried to take this company to court for illegal practices. She said the court found in favor of the ""White Overnite company, stating that even though the Attorney General didn't like the way they were doing business, it wasn't illegal.

She then told me again that I had to pay the amount in full by today, or I would be sent to collections. I agreed to pay the debt, only because I don't need my credit getting any worse than it is.

After reading these reports, I have decided to let them send me to collections. I did everything in my power to keep them from shipping something I didn't want, and being forced to pay the outrageous amount of money they were trying to charge.

I hope more people who are going through this hell, are directed to this website. Maybe, if enough reports are made, something will be done about this and other companies like this one!
