The price of service at a different location has no relevance. A merchant is not required to charge the same rate or a competitive rate as another merchant. Therefore, you were not ripped off.
If you had read the 2008 Toyota Solara Owner's Manual (page 133) you would have learned that the Malfunction Indicator Lamp indicates you should check for a loose fuel tank cap. I found a free manual online after a brief search.
"I hope Wilde understands that a happy customer may tell 1 or 2 people about you, but an unhappy customer will tell 1 or 2 hundred!!! I intend to tell thousands!"
How many of those will be informed that you were too lazy or stupid to consult the owner's manual?
