It is a well known fact that this company is in MAJOR financial trouble, which explains all of the new changes. They are beginning to run scared and are grasping at straws to keep the company afloat. Let's review some of the new changes.
The constant name change is obvious. When the heat gets too hot for them, negative press and reports (especially this website and www.transconscam.com) a new name gives a boost in revenue and in the ads they USED to run on Monster.com. People see the same ads over and over, but a name change looks like a totally different company and it gets more new "scouts" and "talent" in the doors.
Doing a search on a new company name will not give the same negative results as the old name. But, monster is no longer posting their ads, so they list under "confidental company" and use swanky terms like PR Assosciate / Manager, just another name for scout, just another name for the company to boot.
Because of their inability to get new scouts through sites like Monster and HotJobs, they have gotten rid of the open call format and are now trying one on one intervews with new victims. This means that whatever scouts are left, the models can schedule an interview by calling a 800 number and see a talent executive in their local office, it also means that they have to enroll during that interview, adding even more pressure to get money from the victims in the hopes of getting the company out of debt.
This gets rid of the cattle call feel of the open call that people complain about on this site and make the talent feel more special to sit one on one with a talent executive. It also is the only choice now that they are unable to reach as many new scouts to work the streets for them, since Monster won't work with them. Now it seems they are talking with a big model search company, maybe manhatten model search, which will probably mean a new name change to boost revenue and cut down on the negative results of searches on the new name.
There is talk of talent paying 10 dollars for each opportunity they get from the company, which explains the new section on the website asking talent to follow up on the opportunites they get. But everyone knows the opportunities sent to talent is stuff you can find on any entertainment casting call website for free. More money for the company in bogus opportunites that Tom, d**k and Harry could find on their own, but will cost models $10 each through their website.
Office managers are getting a cut in pay in a ploy to keep the money flowing to the pockets of the top people and office owners, but screw the office managers. I would guess that most office managers will lose their jobs now that the group open calls are no more. All you need are talent executives to do the interviews and get money from people.
They are also sending Talent Executives to offices around the country to train newly hired Talent Executives to close the sale in the offices instead of through the headquarters in Orlando. The reason?
First, they cant get the same amount of scouts to work the streets because of Monster and HotJobs banning them. It will save them money to do so, since they are going broke. But, what if you are one of these talent executives traveling to train others in the offices? Do you think you are helping the company and going to be rewarded? The company has something special in store for you, a pink slip!
Once the offices have talent executives inhouse instead of through the headquarters, do you think they have any need for you? You are training others to replace you! Some might be asked to move to the office they are training, but for those who dont want to move, you will not have a job waiting for you when you return. There is even speculation that some people are getting one-way tickets to pressure them to stay in the office they are trying to train. Why does the company need you when you are training others to do your job for you in the offices, you are replacing yourself willingly! Just like all the ads you see for open calls was intended to rid the company of scouts.
There are so many people who have been screwed by this company, especially models and employees, that it is clear that the frauds Alec Defrawry, Dave Elliot, Lou Pearlman, Jay Hoffman, Joe Gomez, Evan Jenckins, Nicki Borginne and the like could care less about their employees and only how to make more money for themselves before the company gets shut down, which explains all the ploys to boost revenue (name changes, price increases) and fill their pockets before they are out of a job and hopefully back in jail.
It is well known that Dave Elliott is a racist, if anyone saw the Dateline piece - which is where a lot of their money problems are coming from - he talks aboput staying out of the ghettos and the hood when scouting. Sexual harassment is rampant in the company and my friend was hired as a Talent Executive, she said her interview was 2 minutes long and the interviewer Joe (Gomez?) spent more time trying to sneak looks at her chest.
This fraud of a company is run by incompetent felons and theives with no respect for their employees or models. We are part of a HUGE group of people screwed by this company, models and employees joined forces, and they have no idea the amount of investigations and lawsuits coming their way. A couple people have been approached by the FBI to talk about Alec Defraud, it won't be long before he is the new "talent" in prison again, don't drop the soap! He won't be the only one going down, the days of this company are short and numbered.
