i recently had a quite disturbing problem with cricket wireless...first, i paid my bill online, which went fine-until i tried to link my cricket account to my bank card. then, they took an extra month's payment out of my account. before i got all that settled, i went into the cricket store (independent retailer), trying to get a better phone than the ascend...that thing sucks. anyhow, somehow, my service got terminated before i even paid for the new phone! i knew nothing about it until i got home and tried to make a call. once i realized there was something wrong with my phone, i called cricket customer service (now, there's an oxymoron). they told me that i had to go back to the store where the disconnection took place-a 1 hour trip- and get them to reverse whatever it was that they did to my service. i made the trip, only to be told that they could do nothing about it, as they were not a corporate store. instead of going back home, i stayed in the store until i found a solution: reinstate the service for another monthly payment. i was assured by both cricket and the store guy that i would be able to get a refund for all this extra money coming out of my account.. in a perfect world, that would be the case...but, this ain't it, obviously; when i took the receipt to crickret, they said that my account information was WIPED! no problem; fortunately, i had the account number on my phone. i gave it to them, and they looked it up...and then carefully explained to me that since the account had been terminated, there was nothing that could be done about my lost money.
just today, i decided to get back in contact with cricket wireless, to see if there was any other avenue that maybe i had missed on the aforementioned occasions. the customer service rep directed me to billing, and they took all of my information. they said i had to call my bank and ask them to fax a statement proving that they had overcharged me, despite the fact that i had provided them with the account number (81009161911), and they verified that their own records prove that i am telling the truth! after that, i went online, and found that literally hundreds of other people (more likely more than that; i was only on one web forum) had the same problem, and most were still waiting to be reimbursed!

okay, so.....i waited for the two weeks that they asked me to wait, only to be rejected because the account was closed-even after i explained (many times, to many different people) that it happened without my knowledge or consent! then, they had the nerve to tell me that i owed MORE money for this month! i told them (yet again) that i was seeking some type of reimbursement, and they started some type of investigation-payment inquiry or something like that. they told me that i would not lose service. but.....this morning, i awoke to find that my service had indeed been disconnected. now, they're telling me that i need to pay to get the phone service reinstated (yet AGAIN), but the facts still remain: (1) i did not ask for my service to be suspended, terminated, or switched to another account, (2) i did not, as far as i know, consent to have two payments to be taken out of my bank account, and (3) I WANT THE MONEY THAT IS OWED TO ME.

as i said before, i was owed a refund from cricket for two payments that were taken out of my bank account......well, here's the update. i tried to call them directly from my cricket phone, but the prerequisite "no agents available at this time" message was all i got for my trouble. i had to contact them through their online refunds number. apparently, they have yet to receive the fax that they requested that i send in, and are telling me to wait something like 12 additional days....
