My small business received a final billing faxed for over $28,000 despite being released from our contract with Windstream over a year ago because they were unable to provide quality phone service for our sales based company. This appears to be a repeated action with other consumers and businesses where Windstream will rack up ridiculous charges against their customers and refuse to provide legitimate documentation for why they renge on their promises.
After we switched to our new provider, Paetec, shortly into our service we were informed that Windstream had purchased this company in full. Needless to say we continue to have issues with our phone and internet service and are very frustrated by the fact that Windstream continues to hold us hostage, sending threatening faxes, phone calls and letters to our places of business which unnecessarily poisons and upsets our work envivornment.
We have diligently tried to work with Windstream associates to try and resolve this issue and negotiate a compromise. However, their customer service representatives refuse to cooperate and simply put us on hold or repeatedly state that we have only a few days before they will forward our deliquient account to collections and ruin our credit, forcing us to file for bankrupcy. We have spent countless hours on the phone with them and holding for them with no resolution or solution offered other than "pay the amount or shut your business down".
I really dislike having to waste my time with this and that of my business as this is an incredible waste of time, energy and resources of my small business that is struggling to operate under the threatening and deceitful environment created by Windstream Communication's harrassment and refusal to fulfil their obligations and promises.
