Windstream Communications Worst DSL Service ever athens, Internet

If you have any other choice but Windstream for Internet access - GO THERE! Both my wife and I make our living largely using the internet. We bought a lovely home in a rural area just outside Athens, GA and found out the ONLY Internet access we can have is through Windstream. The service has been so bad I have sometimes wanted to sell the house because, in order to do my job, I sometimes have to go to the McDonalds (nearest place - about 5 miles away) to use their WIFI to get my work done!

At one time their office, after 2 hours of our haggling with them that our phone line must be longer than we thought (God forbid you have a phone line more than 8' - ours is 6'), determined their business office, accounting office, and the box our service comes from all had different speeds set on our account. This was the 4th time we called with service issues - all centered around us being ripped off for speed we were paying for and were not getting. Right now I have modem speed 5-9 kb download  when we are paying for 6 Mb. These people are robbing Peter to pay Paul so much they don't give you what you ask for until you wind your way through their crummy robot-run call-in customer no-service, finally get a human being, and then they run you through the same drills so badly I have them memorized and know what they will say before even they say it.

After they make you jump through all the hoops you eventually get the service you pay for MAYBE after they cycle you through somehow to getting your service again. I am so FED UP with the INCOMPETENCE and downright THEFT from me of my money for what I DO NOT GET that I am filing a complaint with the FCC. I am going to find out who the hell is responsible locally for monitoring businesses providing these services and I am going to become the biggest thorn in the side of these LOUSY EXCUSES OF AN INTERNET PROVIDING COMPANY that I can possibly be because they are screwing with my ability to keep my jobs! THE POOR LEVEL OF SERVICE WITH THESE PEOPLE IS TERRIBLE! STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS YOU CAN! I had AT&T for years and NEVER had these problems. MY SERVICE SUCKS SO MUCH I CAN'T EVEN RUN THE SPELL-CHECKER ON THIS WEB PAGE!
