Corporate Advocacy Program™

SEO Reputation Management at its best!

Wireless Advocates has kiosks in the majority of Costco locations. Their Sales Reps are unknowledgeable and just push for the sale to make their commission. Once you complete the sales and have problems, they don't want to know anything about it. Rebates are a BIG issue, expect 6 months plus to get a chance to receive your rebate money. You will have to deal with so many people, and all they will do is shrug you off and tell you to wait.

NEVER ORDER ONLINE FROM THEM

AUTHOR: Kearbear - (U.S.A.)

What a joke!  I will NEVER order a cell phone from them online! They get you with this big banner of 2-3 day shipping but neglect to tell you they sit on the product for 3 days before doing anything. When asked why all I got was a BS answer of this is policy. So then I ask how long it will take for t-mobile to be notified of a cancellation. ANOTHER 3 BUSINESS DAYS! So here I am sitting with no phone because they choose to sit on their butts. I'm guessing to make sure they get their money. Either way I wait for the phone or wait for my carrier to be notified.

#2 UPDATE Employee

I am sorry that your experience was negative but I have some information which should shed some light on your situation.

AUTHOR: Mitziedoll - (U.S.A.)

I have managed a Wireless Advocates kiosk for the last three years in California. I suppose that it's possible that you may have dealt with a new employee. To say that an employee is not knowledgeable is a stretch. At least in California associates are trained well. They must know and keep up with the phones, technology, pricing, and systems from three major carriers as opposed to one like in a retail store environment. Wireless Advocates is a non biased environment, all of the employees receive the same commission no matter what phone or plan or carrier that they sell you. They receive $20.00 for a new activation and $5.00 for an upgrade. The employess do also collect an hourly wage and benefits. We are created to be advocates and to get Costco members the right product for their needs not ours. (not exactly enough commission to inspire greed and a disregard for customer service). For that mater the company basically is at the mercy of Costco. If you had a real complaint about the company or a particular company if it's directed to Costco, it will get dealt with promptly. Every once in a while I get a member who inquires about the mail in rebate. Costco mandates a form to be attached to your contract that has the website for checking the rebate status. Out of maybe 2-3 complaints a month out of 360-400 activations two of those people simply forget to enter the number in with a hyphen. (for example 7143324455 instead of 714-332-4455). We are not acting out of ignorance when we direct you to the website. The company Stuart Lee Rebates does not actually have a phone number. We are simply using the resources we have. Another thing we do in California to ensure a good member experience is to actually fill the rebate out for the member with all the neccesary paperwork attached. Im not sure about the differences on the east coast and I am sorry about the problems you had with your experience. I hope you were able to resolve your situation.

#3 UPDATE Employee

I'm so glad that worked out for you

AUTHOR: Rose - (U.S.A.)

Please understand that Wireless Advocates' employees are under a LOT of pressure to sell, sell, sell. If, at times, they may seem less than enthusiastic to help with a rebate issue, it's because they know that every minute they spend helping takes time away from selling. It's not necessarily true that good customer service leads to more sales.

It's a tough job. Costco members are extremely demanding to the point of some being very self-entitled. You can spend all day helping and not selling and and the end of that day, which Costco member is going to hire you because you were fired for not meeting goal?

Wireless Advocates are truly #1!

AUTHOR: A - (U.S.A.)

Everything was squared away awhile ago with the rebate situation.

Wireless Advocates's employees are great.

They are the only ones I know of that give you honest non-bias opinions, which is great because the corporate stores are only one sided.

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

poor sales knowledge and rebate

AUTHOR: Dillon - (U.S.A.)

I am an ex-employee of wireless advocates and if this is your experience, its not typical. most wireless salesman are very knowledgable, although it can be confusing at times since they must know the ins and outs of 3 providers. sprint, verizon, AND T Mobile. its a fair amount of information to keep sorted. as far as the rebates are concerned most are carrier specific rebates. IE they come from the carrier not WA. although some are wireless advocates rebates they usually take 30-45 days last i heard. 6 months would contitute a problem indeed and SHOULD be followed up promptly. however I suppose that depends on the sales team. any salesman that doesnt care what happens after the sale is foolish, as he may lose his commission under certain circumstances. so hes gambling with his paycheck by not providing good customer service after the transaction. I am in california and I know all of the locations in the sac area are run very professionally. although im no longer an employee i do apologize on their behalf. hopefully any future business if any with them will be more pleasant. as it should be.
