Fraudulent job as a secret shopper. The envelope has no return address but is post marked from Canada the company "Survey Shoppers" is based out of Florida the check is from Woodforest Bank in Texas. The scam offers $300.00 upfront for your time and service, $85.00 to mystery shop at Sears, Walmart, Home depot, JC Penny, or Kmart. You purchase goods fro you to keep, you simply report customer service. A request for a Money Gram in the amount of $3270.00 with $215.00 to cover expenses related to sending the Money-Gram. For instructions call Nils Mierer@ 1-403-397-8092 to activate check or just deposit check into your bank acount after a couple days withdraw amount needed and fax reciepts to 1-646-365-3153.

Paul Fills is listed as the Human Resources Director

I was simply giving every detail of the potential scam.
Sears, Walmart, JC Penny, Home Depot, Kmart, nor Canada ripped me off either.

Despite being listed in the thread title, Woodforest is not a part of this scam. The checks could appear to be from any bank. I wouldn't worry too much about the names associated with the scam as the operators could make up as many names as they need to.
The key is to look at the mechanics of the scam. In this case one should be wary of sending Western Union or Moneygram payments to people that they do not know.
