I opened a merchant services account with woodforest national bank in August of 2009. I understood I had a three year contract but was not happy with the service during that time. After the three year contract was up I called the company and told them that I did not want to renew my contract because I was closing my business. I did close my business. Woodforest National Bank debited $495.00 from my account without my knowledge causing checks to bounce and I incurred $75 fee per check. I was shocked and confused and assumed there must be some sort of error. I called the company and was told that no one was available to take my call and that someone would call me back shortly, no one called me back. I called the next day and got an answering machine and left a message, again no one called me back. I called the third day and had to change my tone a bit to get someone to speak to me. The person on the phone said they did me a favor by only charging me $495.00 and not the $3000.00 they could have charged me.
