If you are a Senior and looking for a Retirement Active Living Apt. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and it certainly would be wise to record your visit, so that you don't hear what you want to hear, and then later find out, that those were just words and nothing more. Incentatives are great, but usually not without paybacks. People move in, and move out as soon as their lease is up to due the outrageous monthly rental increase. It is normal for it to run anywhere from $90.00 up to $150.00 and possibly more. (These Monthly Rental Increases appear with each new yearly lease). It cost money to move, and living on your retirement the increase, is more than any increase you get. Prices per apts. depend on number of bedrooms, baths, den etc. Also it depends on the view that your apt. faces, and also whether you are on the first, second or third floor. On the website the present day, month and year state Monthly Rental Rates. But when it was checked out, for that same day Management states those prices don't mean a thing and that they don't care what it says. Tenant turn around has been falsely reported to visiting new potential residents. If you do plan on leasing here, ask about the additonal fees for size of storeage besides additional fee for covered parking spots. If you are assigned your own parking spot, make certain to get something in writing, as it is noted your parking spot maybe reassigned to the next new tenant that came in after you. DO REMEMBER, get any promises in writing and signed by an an authorized person, otherwise the promise won't be worth nothing at all.
Woodland Village is suppose to be an active Senior Retirement Living, but it is getting more like an Assistant Living Community. There are no Dr's or Authorized Medical Personnel. on the payroll, but it has been noted that unauthorized personnel have been reported to give a tenant their medicine and/or an injection's.
Reported to Management are the Scooter for Tenants that have a hard time walking. Instead of the Scooter being taken into the Tenants apt, it is left out in the narrow hallways where other tenants come and go, as that is where their apts are located. Thus this could be a fire hazzard, much less the scooter buckells are just left dangling on the floor.
Seniors should not be taken advantage of or lied to. The Welcome Wagon doesn't always appear to be what it looks like. Also, there are some sanitary issues that need to be taken care of, and not just passed over or not taken seriously. Silverwear or plasticwear that falls on the floor needs to be recleaned or thrown out, not just put back on the table. For what all everyone pays for (utilities, tea's and other various get together's). This should be a well run, well sanitized, professionally and honestly be told the truth, and for the Tenants that have been faithful although not as well off as some others, should be treated just as well and with respect that they deserve. You would think Management would try and keep prices reasonable, and in comparison. But word is, this Community is suppose to be trying to be sold, therefore making a good showing on this place making money is more important.
