I ordered two versions of the WordSmart program for my husband for the 30 day trial. I asked the lady taking my order about the 30 day policy. For example, what if I didn't receive my package until a week or two after I ordered it? She told me that the trial allows for shipping time and as long as I was within a week or so of the 30 day trial, I should be fine. She gave me the date of 3/13/09 for the day to call to return the product if needed.
I was unfortunately out of town on a family emergency from 3/11-13, so I called customer service on Monday 3/16. I was on hold for about two hours. I gave up and called again on the next day. When I got through I talked with Chris who was VERY RUDE. He told me that I couldn't return the product because I was out of my trial period.
I told him what the CSR had said while ordering and he says there is no record of it. I told him he should honor what I was originally told and he said he did not have record of it and he did not believe me. He told me I must make four more payments (I've already paid one payment of $118.00 that they automatically deducted from my bank account). I told him I was willing to ignore the 1st payment that I was forced to pay, but I wanted to return the product. He would not budge and continued to have a VERY BAD ATTITUDE. I asked for his manager and he refused. I asked him why it was my fault that his company gave me false information regarding the end date of the trial period. He said that they keep good records and that it was not his problem.
I told him that the lady who took my order must not have recorded it and he said again that it was not his problem. I told him I did not appreciate the way he was handling this issue and that I did not appreciate his attitude and again asked for his manager. He said he did not have to let me talk to her. This went back and forth for awhile until I said that I was going to report him to the BBB. He offered to put me through to his manager immediately. Wouldn't you know it, his manager was out of the office. He told me to leave a message and she would call me. The extension I was passed to belonged to someone named Anthony. . . I don't think this was the manager, but I left a message anyway.
I AM VERY DISPLEASED WITH THIS COMPANY AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. I have already reported them to the BBB and I will continue to be a "squeaky wheel" for as long as it takes.
I guess my only option is to keep calling them. Like I have time to do that.
