We would get both cards within 10 days. So we got our membership card yesterday, but no amenities card. So I called them, to find out when I would get it and to book our next vacation. I am really upset because we were told we would not be getting any points until 2010. But that we could borrow on the points we were getting in 2010. When I explained that this was not what we should have got they told us to call the person who sold us the timeshare. We did and He said I told you you would get 168,00 point available to you right way. I didnt lie, you have them available to you. You just have to borrow on your 2010 points.
I was very upset because I am paying $250 a month for the next 2 years and getting no points. And this guy lied, and used a play on words to decieve us into getting something we were not getting. So I also am paying for points I dont get for another 2 years.
This is wrong. They should not be able to tell you something and then not follow through on it. At one point we were told, so get out of your agreement, call tomorrow and do it. And I'll have youe timeshare resold the same day.
Stay away from Wyndham. They will rip you off. They hire smooth talkers who paint a pretty picture, then when they get your money are very rude to you. Shame on you Wyndham, I have taught my 4 children not to lie and cheat. Someone should have taught you!

Search TipsWe are sorry to hear your story about Wyndham Vacations, but thank you for posting. We (my husband and I) went to the Wilderness Resort, Wisconsin Dells just yesterday for a sales pitch. It was a requirement to claim a prize, a weekend getaway vacation package, that as it turns out is only available for use Sunday through Wednesday. We were there for a total of 4 hours, and the deal we were given seemed too good to be true. Now we understand why.
We have only been married 7 months and have our first baby on the way, so we are really cautious with our money. Even with that, it looked like a good deal. What saved us in the end is that we have a deal with each other to take at least a couple days before major purchases, no spontaneous buys. The sales staff at Wyndham gave us the option of buying that day only. They did say we could always call and cancel. We opted to take our chances that if we liked the deal we could always get it later. And on the way out, we were pitched the discovery package, but at that point we were more than ready to leave. We had been told it would be a 120 minute presentation and it had already doubled that amount of time.
After reading your post, I am relieved we did not purchase the "vacation ownership" package. We were given no specifics about the monthly maintainence fees. What the saleman and manager pitched was hand written on the back of a brochure. We did just a little internet research and found many owners selling their Wyndham shares online for much less than what we were pitched. And I am sure much less than what they paid for them originally. Even at a lesser price, I don't think we are taking any chances with this corporation.
I am sorry for your losses, and I do hope you can find a deal on that family vacation to Disney, Thanks again and God bless,

You should be ashamed of yourself. A lot of people have been scammed and lied to. If you are a wyndham employee you know it's true. Hope I'm not behind you on judgement day!

The second post, by a supposed ex-employee who should recognize the OPs error, goes on to just randomly slander Worldmark, even though, as an ex-employee, he should know this post has nothing to do with that.
Finally, the OP bought an every other year EVEN package, which the salesperson told them they had access to the points in 2009. I suggest that the OP write a letter stating that their intention was to purchase an every other year ODD package, and ask to have the contracts redrawn as an EOY ODD. If they still won't fix that, then start raising your complaint to the next level. But it sounds like your vacation was planned for 2009, so why not just borrow 2010 points in 2009 for that Disney vacation? (I agree the salesperson sounded a little misleading, and in my experience with WVR salespeople, they don't even truly understand how points borrowing works, so they aren't even always being intentionally deceiving)

OVERSOLD, OVERSOLD, THE REASON YOU CANNOT GET IN..
WORLDMARK RESORTS by Wyndham Resorts Development Corporation, Inc.
Total credits for sale as of 12/31/2007; 2,638,634,500 per annual report by Wyndham
Total number of owners 258,000
Average credits owned by each owner 9,980 (provided by corporate office of Wyndham)
258,000 total owners X 9,980 average number of credits owned = 2,574,840,000 credits sold
Leaving a balance of 63,794,500 available for sale or use by the company for the double credits or for credits that the company provides for their exit program sales.
EXIT PROGRAM sales for 2007 exceeded 10,000 sold X 12,000 credits per package=120,000,000 NOW WE HAVE A NEGATIVE OF 56,205,500 credits. Note this is not hundreds, thousands, but is millions of credits oversold @ $1.90 per credit or more.
DOUBLE CREDITS: Plus all of the owners in 2007 that purchased 10,000 credits or more GOT DOUBLE CREDITS; where could these credits come from when the company is already millions of credits oversold?
5000 OWNERS x 10,000 DOUBLE CREDITS= 50,000,000 DOUBLE CREDITS that were sold/provided to new owners, THESE ARE 50 MILLION BEYOND THE 50 MILLION THAT THEY PURCHASED, but were really unavailable for sale due to the overselling.
2,638,634,500 total credits in inventory
-2,574,840,000 SOLD TO EXISTING OWNERS 258,000 owners @ average of 9,980
Credits each
- 120,000,000 credits sold for EXIT PROGRAM in 2007 (not counting previous years)
- 50,000,000 double credits promised/sold in 2007 (not counting previous years)
the 50 million that the owners purchased are already counted in the amount that has been SOLD TO EXISTING OWNERS (2,574,840,000 line 2)
-- 106,205,500 NEGATIVE BALANCE SOLD BY Wyndham/TrendWest
(NOTE; most of the numbers were rounded off to the next lowest number for ease of computing, with the exception of the number of owners and credits owned by each owner, those two figures are actual as given by the Wyndham corporate office)
As of 12/31/2007
Additionally, ALL UPGRADE sales can buy and additional 5000 to 9000 credits as to what they purchase, for $250.00, they can get double credits; So if they buy 7,000 credits from Wyndham Upgrade Department they can get an additional 7,000 for $250.00 and if they buy/purchase 10,000 or more they get the 10,000- or whatever they purchase for the first year, they get double credits free. Now how could they possibly do this when they are so oversold, and yes this is the reason you cannot get into any of the resortsTHEY ARE OVERSOLD
At the current price of $1.90 per credit; we have 106.205,500 credits sold X $1.90 per credit or a total of $201,790,450.00
A total of $201,790,450.00 of illegal sales and monies that Wyndham has now taken into their coffers. Additionally damage has been due to current and future owners by the mass overselling of a product that cannot be used due to lack of availability caused by this overselling of the credits.
