Xfinity Home Security Services You are contractually bound to the terms of agreement, Xfinity is not Internet

Their billing practices on this service are bait and switch! I am a triple play Comcast subscriber who signed a 3 year contract for the home security service at 29.95 per month.
After 12 months, the rate was raised without notice to 39.95 per month. I called Xfinity Home Security Billing (separate dept. from the Cable/Internet side) and ultimately I was told if I didn't like it, I could drive to a Comcast Service Center and talk to them.
Their rationale for the price change is that because the sales rep wrote "29.95" on the monthly service charge line and not "29.95 for x months", they can change the rate to any amount at any time! However, in the same conversation, they also reminded me that I am contractually bound to the 36 months stated elsewhere in the contract. Xfinity is bound to said contract? Not so much so this is clearly a one-sided agreement..fixed on the customer side/mutable on Xfinity's.
One option to offset the increase in HS monthly costs would be to move the triple play to another provider (if cheaper), however, depending on where you live, you may not be able to use the Xfinity home security without the Xfinity internet. I live in a place where Home Security is not Xfinity dependent but for those customers where they are interdependent, they are stuck with either paying for Home Security for the balance of the "contract" and not using it or sticking with Xfinity internet to continue using Home Security. Had I known about the pricing "scheme" up front and/or assumed that what was in writing was the rate, I would never have chosen Xfinity for home security.
