xm radio promised commercial free 24 hr music on all stations and is now carrying commercials on quite a few BIG RIP_OFF

Yes, due to a lawsuit that XM fought and lost, they had to allow Clear Channel to add some advertising to a few of the music channels that CC was providing the programming for.

To offset this, XM added additional commercial free music channels - one new commercial free channel for each one that was adding commercials.

So while XM can no longer claim "100% commercial free music channels", they can still correctly claim they have the MOST commercial free music channels.

So at the end of the day, there was no net loss of commercial free music and the music channels with commerials are clearly identified as such by the display of your XM unit.
