First of all Yellow Book has the worst and most unorganized customer service I have ever dealt with. When I signed up for advertising I was reluctant to begin with after meeting with sales rep. The rep kept trying to get mt to sign up for bigger ads that I had no interest in. Once we came to an agreement and sent my first payment in. 30 days later I recieved a second bill with late fees. I called up to tell them I had sent the payment in giving them my check number and indicating my business name is at the top of my check. Yellow Book took my check and applied my payment to my fathers account which is a total different business. I'm the III and we are not business partners. I was told my payment would be credited to my account. 30 days later another bill with more late fees. I called again and said no future payments will be sent until my first check will be credited to my account. Called again the service rep had my account merged with another business besides my fathers. They apoligizes said it would be taken care of. Another bill more late fees. This time they told me I called and said that I wanted my check to be applied to my fathers account and that I have not made a payment on my account yet and i'm now 120 days over due. This went on for over a year. I would get bills where I would be credited with a partial paymnet. Then the next bill would show no payments have been made at all. This went on for a year. I then recieved a call that I would be sued for not paying my bill and that the bill will be sent to collections. My response I'm sending a copy of my check that was cashed by Yellow Book. Once you credit my account with my first payment I will send you remaining balance minus late fees. They said sorry sir but we are not crediting your account. You paid you fathers bill. That is nice of you but you have to pay your own. All I could think of was are you nuts and Yellow BooK is a fraudulant company.
Another year has gone by and I have been dealing with the collection company for 3 months now. I told them about my situation. not only did they want me to pay all the late fees, payment in full, no credit for my check that covered the first three months of my advertising. They also want me to pay a two hundred doller collection fee. Then the collection company asked me what I thaught I owed and make a offer for a settlement. I said I would pay my bill in full minus my first payment. I also want my Yellow Book account marked paid in full. They said no sir we will take a settlement offer and put settled on your credit report. I have strong credit and on principle I want to pay what I owe and the company to do what is right. I don't want to settle a bill in which I'm short changing what I owe. Yellow Book is fraudulant has poor accounting practicess. Not only have they lost my business but anybody else I may talk to. This bill will never be paid until they credit my acoount with my payment and I pay what I owe not a settlement through a collection company. Stay away from yellow book. Use any other local phone book. Last conversation was my account will be sent to the collection company legal team. I look forward to it. When a company steals from you they do not have a right to threaten you and ruin your credit!
