After recieving a negative review on Yelp.com our company looked into the person who had made the false review. Once we established the review was false and did not contain a bit of truth our company contacted Yelp.com. In addition, we were willing to provide Yelp.com with proof of the review being a false review they declined to help resolve the false review through such means. What Yelp.com did was offer us an oppurtunity to join Yelp.com and we would be able to "resolve" the reviews. To become a member you must pay a fee. Yelp.com told us we could essential alter reviews if we were a member of Yelp.com. I told them how bogus I think their advertising model was and they began to tell me if I decide to go after a lawsuit they have won in a case and it would likely affect me. So I hung up the phone and decided to try to reach out to the customer who wrote the false review. With no success we continued to monitor Yelp.com. After finding out many of our reviews were "Filtered" - Yelp.com only shows the reviews they feel fit showing. Going on Yelp.com today and found another false review. Why is there no means to resolve false or legitimate reviews between the company and the customer? Would this not be a better service to customers and local businesses?
