We purchased a right hand drive 1995 jeep cherokee from Yokohama motors through Tokyo James on ebay in September 2007 for $8200.00 and there was to be no additional cost. We had expected to receive our jeep in a couple of months.
Here it is March 14th,2008 and after several email attempts which are answered very sparsely and phone calls that only speak Japanese, we are getting no where and our jeeps are sitting at G&K conversions in California. Their phone number is 714-545-9503 extension 22 her name is Sosi.
Apparently the conversation cost went from $1500.00 to $4500.00 which Yokohama motors hasn't paid and are not making any effort to pay. They have not answered numerous emails even from G& K conversions. The last email received was on February 15th. This involves several parties, plus a co-worker's jeep also here in town.
What frustrates us is that our jeeps are being held as Yokohama motors won't pay and yet continues to sell these vehicles around the world. What a total rip off !!! Is there any way you can help us, as we can't afford a lawyer and we aren't getting any where and I wish I had never made this purchase.
They continue to ignore our email pleas to refund our money or let us know how they are taking care of this. Yokohama motors have been in business for 28 yrs and we thought they were an honest company and obviously we were wrong.
We would appreciate any help you can give us on bringing this international rip off down.

Well, that should be a lesson to you. NEVER purchase anything outside of the US. You are sure to be scammed. And who is this CRETIN who claims to be a representative of Yokohama Motors ??? What an idiot !!!! I laughed myself silly after reading the post.
