Yvondia Herring, Executive Director Central Florida Black Expo No Refund from Postponed Event Orlando, Florida

I had paid $500 to be a vendor at the Central Florida Black Expo on June 29-30 2012. Ms. Yvondia Herring is the executive director of this event. The Expo was postponed three days before the event because Ms. Herring claimed she had a family emergency. I was surprised Ms. Herring did not have someone to take her place since 10,000 visitors were expected at the event.  I lost $700 in air fare and hotel reservations.

I immediately asked for a refund of my vendor fees. Ms. Herring ignored my emails until I threatened to sue her for breach of contract. In a 8/20/12 email, Ms. Herring claimed she was processing my refund, but weeks later still no refund. The Central Florida Black Expo originally scheduled for 29-30 was rescheduled for August 10-11 and then rescheduled again for October 20-21. 

Emails and an inquiry from the Better Business Bureau has all been ignored. If one searches for the Central Florida Black Expo, one will see three different dates and conflicting information about this event. Some vendors have apparently complained to an online news services as evidence on their FaceBook page.  Vendors beware of this event. This is a first annual event and it is evidence from the way Ms. Herring has handle this affair she does not have the experience or professionalism to produce such a business.
