Several months ago, Tiran Zaken contacted Rip-off Report with a strong desire to have all complaints resolved. TIRAN also stated Rip-off Report is a valuable tool for consumers and has the utmost respect for the consumers' voice. But after a thorough investigation, Rip-off Report feels that The Zaken Corp., is a legitimate operation and in some cases, has been a victim of circumstances. Zaken Corp admitted they needed improvements and new policies with respect to refunds and customer service. They are now in place..

Also, after our Rip-off Report investigation, we found a former ex-employee instigated many of these complaints. This ex-employee was running the New York east cost office and was fired by the Company for doing business against The Zaken Corp. and its' associates, ripping off both the Zaken Associates and the Zaken Corp.. Also, this individual was purposely mistreating Zaken Corp. customers in an effort to create problems for them. After his termination he threatened to start a "Competing" business and started spreading many lies on the internet about Zaken Corp. Zaken has also recently fired 4 employees who The Zaken Corp. felt were not providing it's customers with top customer service; part of their new commitment to make major changes. Zaken stated, In further corrective actions, to make proper amends to our clients in full, Zaken reports he has fired the Office Manager of the New York location/office so that this former employee's unethical practices in business are no longer a part of the way they do business now.

Here is what Rip-off Report has learned over the last several months of investigation .

Rip-off Report CONTACTS ZAKEN CUSTOMERS.. At the request of Tiran Zaken, we contacted several of those who had complained, just to see how his company was doing in resolving some of the bona fide problems. (this is also a requirement of the Corporate Advocacy & Remediation Program) ..We also obtained a list through existing employees, confidential sources, and contacted them. Here is a representative sampling of the results representative of those calls:

Of those who had complained, the most representative response was like this respondent We were frustrated and that is why we filed a report, but since our recent contact with Zaken Corporation, we have a refund, but we are so pleased about the response to the situation that we are thinking of investing in the business again.

We did have a couple respondents like this one I have not received anything back yet, but they're being real nice about it.

Two individuals were nasty; one said to take a (Censored) hike!

There were a couple complainants who were unaware of the remediation effort by Zaken, but assured us that they would make contact in the near future.

In conclusion: We are pleased to report that as of this writing, Zaken appears to be doing a much better than average effort to solve their customer service problems.

THE ZAKEN CORP. A VICTIM OF SPITE WORK FROM EX-EMPLOYEES... Every company receives complaints. It's how they handle those complaints separates good business from bad business. With the large amount of new clients The Zaken Corp. works with each month, the complaints that are here are statistically minimal in comparison to the amount of business they do, but, Rip-off Report feels, and so does Zaken Corp, that 1 unsatisfied customer is one too many. TIRAN ZAKEN (President of Zaken corp.) admits there have been problems which have been out of their control, and, as stated previously, they are a victim of an ex-employee going off on his own, and trying to destroy them on the way, in an effort to eliminate future competition.

Furthermore, after a thorough investigation, Rip-off Report has learned that there are complaints filed that are BOGUS reports filed by the same individual.

RIP-OFF REPORT ENCOURAGES EMPLOYEE WHISTLE BLOWERS ..PHONEY REPORTS WILL BE EXPOSED Although Rip-off Report does encourage ex-employees and existing employees to become whistleblowers on the companies they work for, Rip-off Report does NOT approve of ex-employees using their employers client lists for personal enrichment, filing phony Rip-off Reports, instigating problems for them and then going into business for themselves, which may have civil and criminal implications. Therefore, when Rip-off Report complainants do not give their proper contact info, or fail to respond to our efforts to contact them, we will have no option but to assume that the reports are bogus and those phony Reports will be updated and exposed accordingly.

GOING INTO BUSINESS MEANS TAKING RISKS... Rip-off Report feels customers have to realize, going into your own business means taking risks, and in all fairness, Zaken Corp should not be responsible for those who get cold feet, or find that it is not for them.

Despite the inherent risk, Zaken has given refunds in most cases, because he has learned that a former employee has been irresponsible and made unreasonable promises and in some cases have deliberately tried to sabotage Zaken Corporation. From the information provided to Rip-off Report, this ex-employee was fired and now there is a lawsuit filed against him by The Zaken Corp.

ZAKEN NEVER MEANT TO SCREW ANYONE... HE COULD HAVE CHANGED HIS NAME AND DID NOT I must emphasize that, after interviewing Tiran more than 5 times, Rip-off Report believes that if Zaken had meant to screw the consumer, he would have never used his own name and could have just changed the name of his business, like so many scams all over the Internet. Tiran is a family person, with good values, and like anyone starting out in business, has found, it's easy to screw those to whom you are doing business with and call it all business, as this EDitor found over the years. But, Tiran has made a concerted effort to constantly make things better.

COMMITMENT TO SATISFY EVERYONE... Rip-off Report cannot vouch for the Zaken Program itself, as we do not have any first-hand knowledge/experience of the program, but, we do know, they have made a commitment to satisfy all customers past and present. Mr. Zaken has pledged to work with those who have specifically come to Rip-off Report. We will keep your information confidential, but you need to ensure that we have current updated contact information, so that we can help you. Our investigation reveals they do have a large customer base of satisfied clients/associates and they do buy, sell and warehouse tens of thousands dollars worth of closeouts with their associates each month, .. someone out there is making money with their program.

We split profits 50/50 with you on the deals you find and we sell for you.

WORKING FOR YOURSELF IS NOT LIKE WORKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE Lastly, Consumers today are desperately looking for ways to be in their own business and be in more control of their own financial outcome, but consumers need to know, working for yourself is not like working for someone else, ...you need to be tenacious, focused and even vicious to make it in the business world today. Like I have said before in my EDitorials, even the most honest business person can get caught up in all the financial ferocity, trying to make ends meet, and end up losing your principles just to break even, calling it all business ..not realizing you are screwing your customer by doing so..

I have worked for this company I know for a fact that they are just taking peoples money.  I worked in several different departments before I figured out it was just a big scam. 

When they moved me to the dedicated customer service section I was seated right next the sales people who were supposed to be finding ways to sell items our associates were bringing in.  When they bothered to show up they mostly spent their time eating or taking naps. At first I thought they had to be doing the real work earlier than I cam in, until I was moved to a position as rejection letter writer.

At this point I had access to a list of what was being offered to us & what was being sold.  Literally over 95% of the items were being rejected, even when they met (& mostly) exceeded all our criteria.  Furthermore  I also saw that many people were being told their item was rejected when the Zaken Corporation was cutting a side deal with the manufacturer and cutting them out.

After looking into it I found that many of the items they had posted on the success wall had either been reported to the customer as not being worth out time or had not been sold at all.  Then I heard a  manager telling a person (whom they had just announced make a big sale) that they would not give them any of their money until they had written a glowing referral.

It didn't take much poking around to find out that many of the other referral we had gotten were from people who were told that the only way they could get their refund was if they gave a glowing referral.

They truth is that the reason they have so many complaints from customers and ex-employees is because they have been doing stuff like this for years.  They way things really work is they send out brochures all over the place & tell people that they can make lots of money with a money back guarantee.  Then they do everything they can to delay your sending back the kit so they don't have to give the money back.  This includes sending them list of "prospects" that are literally lifted from the yellow pages.

The only time they actually follow the rules is when consumers contact organizations like the BBB.  Then they cover their but with reports like the one below or with the one about how another company at another address was using their name were the real problem (this is what they told me at my interview).

After finding all this out I had to quit.  Their response was to let me know that they had my home address and that I would pay for any problems I gave them.

I just like people to know i recieved a refund from the zaken corp. I also want people to know that i did not ask for a refund they just gave it to me. I started the wealth building home business plan on around 1-10-2002. I have to say i could see were i could have made a lot of money with this business. I havent done anything with the business because i lack confidence in myself One day about five months ago i looked at my visa bill and there it was over $400.00 in credit I felt good that a company would do that**

ABOUT ME

I would first like everyone to know I started, at a very young age, buying and selling closeout merchandise (I was 17). I started out of my bedroom in my spare time. I was doing so well I started teaching others how to do the same thing. Eventually I grew the business to what it is today. We employ over 42 employees (all under one roof), out of an office /warehouse facilities in excess of 30,000 square feet building, in the west coast. NO MORE east coast office to interfere with our exciting business. This was a big mistake on my part. Now our customers work DIRECTLY with our west coast office only, where we'll work together with you toward the same goals.



I REALIZED THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS WEB SITE..

I've been familiar with the Rip off report for a while now. Like most businesses that are reported, I was at first outraged, but I immediately realized its importance this web site is for consumers and businesses alike. So, I have nothing against the Rip-off Report or its Founder, ED Magedson. Giving people an opportunity to post their opinions about various companies they have dealt with is appropriate. I see nothing wrong with that.



ZAKEN HAD THE URGE TO COMPLAIN TOO

As a businessman, I deal with a lot of people and vendors, and I too sometimes feel the urge to complain about a particular vendor or company who I feel have not "delivered" on their promises. It's funny, but sometimes I too feel like posting a complaint on this site. That's life I guess in the fast-paced business world. There is always something to complain about, and sometimes rightly so.



LEGITIMATE COMPLAINTS CHANGES ARE MADE AND MORE TO COME

Some of you have a legitimate complaint, rightfully so, and thanks to Rip-off Report, we realize there are certain issues/, we analyzed all the Reports and we have recently worked to make major changes and there are more to come to make sure all customers are completely satisfied or your money back!



Some of you might have been a victim of our New York Offices that we closed down because the way it was run and who was running it? Rip-off Report has explained this in their investigation, so there is no need for us to elaborate on this further. I just want to say at this point, we are sincerely sorry for those of you who have been wronged and hope to make things up to you all, one way or another



BUILT OUR BUSINESS ON SATISFIED CUSTOMERS

Our business has grown fairly big in the past few years. During these years we have built our business on satisfied customers, or we would not be here today. Unfortunately, a few disgruntled ex-employees, through the use of the Internet, and access to our client lists, in an effort to destroy our business and for the advantage of their new business, were able to spread many lies about our company which has started all this fuss, and which I assure you, has no basis in fact or merit whatsoever!



DEEPLY HURT BY THE PHRASES USED

I invite you to contact us and explain in detail the basis of your complaint. We are here for you. I can assure you, we will do everything we can to resolve the matter. I am personally, very deeply hurt by the phrases used by some of the individuals complaining on this sight. However, we are all humans, and sometimes frustration causes us to use such phrases about people we have dealt with.



DOING EVERYTHING WE CAN TO HELP OUR ASSOCIATES

I assure you we are not "con artists" or are out to cheat or mislead anyone. We are a legitimate business who is doing everything we can to help our associates establish a business they can grow right along with ours. But for that to be possible, you as an entrepreneur have to be somewhat persistent, follow instructions and not give up at the first sign of discouragement. If you're an opportunity seeker, I'm not trying to encourage you to join us. What I'm trying to say is, the liquidation industry is not a "MIRACLE" business where people get rich overnight. It is a BUSINESS just like any other, which requires persistence and a determination to make it work.



I advise you not to join any business opportunity unless you're willing to put in the necessary work and relentless determination required. Obviously, there are no guarantees of success with any business opportunity where you work on your own under no supervision but your own.



BUT PLEASE, IF YOU FEEL YOU HAVE BEEN MISTREATED IN ANY WAY...



I PERSONALLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT AND, I WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. A COMITMENT I MADE WHEN JOINING RIP-OFF REPORT Corporate Advocacy & Remediation Program.
