I purchased a german shepherd with advanced obedience training from www.zauberberg.com that was to be a family protection dog and received a dog that bolts unless on a leash, has had diarrhea since arrival, was filthy dirty when he arrived, was poorly socialized and professionals who assessed him think he was abused with a shock collar.

He hides in the bathtub or under my desk, is not house trained and only will eat in his crate. He is under weight and the veterinarian does not think he is a puppy but thinks he is at least 3 or 4 years old. Andreas Mueller asked for the dog to be returned for a supposed full refund but I would never send a dog back to a place that made him not only sick but afraid of everyone and everything. Do not purchase a dog from this monster.

Andres Mueller is a superb trainer

AUTHOR: Murph - ()

I have purchased a dog from Andres Mueller. He may be THE best trainer I have ever worked with. I train, and have trained for over 20yrs. He puts out some of the best dogs I have ever seen or worked. I suggest that anyone on here, that questions Andres' methods of training should do some research and studying. You will find that he is very well respected throughout the dog training community. He is honest, knowledgeable, and a walking encyclopedia when it comes to K9 behavior.

Who's the victim here?

AUTHOR: Red - ()

In 2004 I was shopping for a GSD, after an extensive search I noted that a local breeder/trainer didn't have anything contrary about him or his dogs on the www, it was Andreas Mueller.  Not the BBB, not this agency, and not on the myriad of dog forums.  Now attempt the same search using Pup Diva, Elizibeth Mandarino, Amber Hill Farms, and peruse the Yorkie/lap dog forums for the same and decide who is punishing their customers for dealing with them.

I'd never owned a dog I paid more than twenty-five dollars for.  Even though he gave me a generous discount for being a disabled vet eight hundred dollars was more than I'd paid for some cars.  I did my homework and studied the breed, I immersed myself in GSD specific training.  I did everything I could to ensure I was prepared for the canine equivilent of a Porche.  I didn't expect a magic dog that would walk out of the crate and be obedient.  The people complaining about Andreas' dogs talk about spending a fortune, but little about what they did for their dog other than throw money at it.  You'll see a trainer who makes up technical terms.  Go ahead, Google "Fried on the collar" as one of these professional dog trainers declared.  It's found one place on the www, here.

Jager had to be destroyed due to prostrate cancer last April.  Andreas let me test drive one dog for six weeks.  Nick didn't work out.  Next he gave me a whopping discount on dog number two.  He was named Berlin.  I called Andreas in December and commented that I didn't think his hips looked right.  I was told the rest of the litter was OK, so I waited and watched.  In February I had Berlin's hips xrayed.  There was no acetibular socket, it would soon begin luxating and be agonizing.  I emailed Andreas the xrays and vet report.  Within thirty minutes he texted me that this dog wouldn't do and he had to make it right..

Shortly Andreas had screened two dogs for my specific needs.  I didn't want either but liked a different dog some distance away.  He was another breeder's dog sent to Andreas for conditioning.  Andreas pulled out his cell phone, bought the dog for me on the spot and promised to train another dog for the breeder pro bono to make up for the lost revenue.

Like I said, research the people involved and decide who the real victims are.  Personally, I think it's Mueller and acouple of dogs who had the misfortune to fall in the hands of people who weren't savvy enough and ruined a brace of high performance dogs.

Calling names is also ridicules

AUTHOR: K.A.S. - ()

Have you even watched the traing videos?? I see you don't comment on the shock colors. What about the rescues in Arizona who deal with this sort of thing daily? When people purchase a dog you must always visit the kennel and put your hands on the dog. You also need to see parents. Go back through breeding to make sure the bitch is not bred to often. Also if a breeder has to many dogs is a warning light. Take a look around. Are the dogs exersized? Resposible breeders have a code of ethics. They won't let you have one of there dogs without you meeting them and deciding the right fit.

Tell me how these dogs are actually socialized? McNeal is very far from any metropolitan area for proper socialization. The woman with Frolic is broken hearted so for you to call her a killer is just crass. I realize Andreas is your friend. Perhaps you could talk to him about lighting his load of dogs he can take of. Dogs take a lot of kindness to bring them up correctly. Not shocking them into submission. Especially a young dog. There is no fast track to training dogs to be good citizens and working dogs.

Patience and trust is key, and for them to respect you as yor leader. I do not know who your vet is but you can surely tell the approxament age of a dog bu his teeth. Frolic was either ill fed not allowed bones for his teeth were hideous for a dog to be so "young". My 2 GSD's are both five and have beautiful coats and teeth. To purchased dog sight unseen is a really bad idea. But a breeder to sell a sick dog is bad for the breed and the sport. Don't forget valley fever is a real threat. I know you you must care for dogs. Remember we are there voice.

So no more name calling accidents happen. Remember the fun matches a while ago when the Corgi pup was killed and the chihuahua who was the foundation bitch. Perhaps he should offer her Loki neutered first. He may have a limp but he is a beautiful dog. Slow introductions may work with her small dogs, maybe If she hits the show circuit out here, She could get some help from GSD breeders. Just a thought. Just to let you know I have been in dogs my whole life. Showing, breeding and rescue. I am not a Dummy.

SHE KILLED THE DOG!

AUTHOR: k9db - ()

@KAS, Your have reading comprehension problems. Loki is listed for sale because he is going to be retired. He could be finished for SchH1, if he could score high enough, and bred. He has a condition called Fibrotic Myopathy. Its not defect, but a problem with the breed during injury. Common with working K9's. Under excellent care with Dr. Boolay in Tucson, AZ. Furthermore he would be free to a home who would agree not to breed, compete, or otherwise utilize him as a working dog---SO A PET HOME. I have trained with the dog. He is an excellent dog! Super grips, sure temperament I will not sit idly by and read your instigation. Announce yourself or be called a dummy.

@Frolic On the matter with Faith and Frolic. Nothing has materialized except the possibility of a defamation suit of which I have been asked to not publicly comment on. I await my opportunity for affidavit.

Frolic was killed in her care after this slanderment of Andreas' reputation. Ms. Deadly Diva should have sent the dog back to Andreas, but she could not because she could not get a health certificate. Something that was required to ship the dog to her. OR she did not. Then if so, why complain?

@Faith: It is very nice to hear the dog is doing well and has adjusted well. I am sorry to see you get spun up by such a curmudgeon of a person. Her story ended with deadly effect. You have an dog that seams to have taken slow to a new home. There is no doubt that your both had problems. I am sure that breeding will not be repeated. It seams you elected to keep the dog, a good choice. This as opposed to keeping the dog, demanding a refund, demanding to be reimbursed for "no record's" of training, and then to see the dog die in your care from negligence. These are two very difference stories with litter comparison other than them coming from the same litter.

C'mon People! THINK RATIONALLY!

Faith and Frolic

AUTHOR: K.A.S. - (United States of America)

Hi,
I just wanted to say how sorry I am about Frolic. He was such a beautiful boy. I am sorry for Faith to have such a rough start.i have been interested in getting a GSD I looked at breeders in my state and was shocked by the deceit in breeding circles. I spoke with some rescues who said there was not one breeder in our state they would purchase from. Let alone do any of these breeders take back there dogs from rescue. According to Zauberberg K9 the Charlotte - Ibo breeding was May 2001 that was the F litter. Also the training videos they post shows very fearful dogs and who I presume to be Andreas zapping them continually. The video of Amber broke my heart. Perhaps you could find her owner? Right now Z-K9 is selling hurt Loki who I think is 8 for 5000. If you google map his place. It is solid dirt. In Arizona we have a disease called Valley Fever. It comes from the dirt dogs and humans contract it. No vaccine no cure for dogs. Humans like a really Superbad Flu Bug.
Again my deepest sympathies.

Frolic did not know how to even sit and I was told he was trained in German commands which he did not know. So advanced obedience training was not what I received. He also said he had an excellent disposition and desired temperament. No mention of bolting or being afraid of people. He also never came with any food, instructions, list of commands as promised or a Free Zauberberg Dog Clicker. I have many emails in which Andreas described him as a perfect family protection dog which was exactly what I was purchasing for $5980 plus shipping which ended up costing me over $7000 plus what I spent on vet bills and tarining. No leash or collar was on him in the crate and if I opened up the crate at my farm he would either 1. have bolted and been gone into the woods for good or 2. have bolted as soon as he had an escape exit from my home. He was also not house trained either and was sick when he arrived and had diarrhea.

Frolic had become so attached to me and was happy with my family but we could do nothing about the bolting if he saw someone he did not know, even on property. My children who had worked so hard laying on the ground beside him for hours on end to gain his trust were devastated. He would hide under my desk at both of my farms and I was his security. If he bolted when I was around he would come back to me. He did not know what toys were either and my other dogs were teaching him to play and be a dog. He did not have any training skills Andreas stated and would never have been a family protection dog as Andreas had stated. He was scared of everything.

I would never have sent him back to a place where I knew he was not fed well or where they used a shock collar on him to make him afraid of people. I am going to have my attorneys file suit as Andreas should not be allowed to get away with treating animals in this manner and sending them out filthy, matted and undernourished besides being not as advertised. My vet also said there was no way with the decay on his teeth that he was the age represented. She thought he was 4 and the trainers I had look at him said it is almost impossible to extinguish bolting and that because of his age, how he had been treated and his personality that it was impossible that he would be rehabilitated to a family protection dog. At best, he would be a pet with issues for the rest of his life. None of the trainers could believe how much I paid for him. They were appalled.

If you would like to join my lawsuit you can contact me at elizmand@aol.com. I would love to hear from you and at the very least keep up with Faith and how she is doing.

Faith

AUTHOR: faithsowner - (United States of America)

I am so sorry about Frolic! Faith has made tremendous strides and now loves and trusts our whole family. She sleeps in the bed with me every night. She is still a bit confused by toys, as she never has them until we got her. We recently bought her a friend, a puggle, who she is devoted to. We met Frolic when we went to get Faith, and he was super sweet. I cannot imagine what we would do if we lost Faith. We keep her on a least most of the time, but she has bolted once before. Faith and frolic are identical, I wish that you could have seen them side by side, we couldn't even tell them apart, and they are both beautiful dogs. If I were you, I would have Andreas send you a puppy, untrained to replace Frolic.

Frolic

AUTHOR: doglover - (United States of America)

I am so sorry and have tried to locate you as I knew Faith must have exhibited the same behavior. After thousands of dollars and workign with Frolic daily, I am sad to report that IO could never get Frolic to stop bolting even with the aid of many trainers and unfortunately, he bolted one day and was hit by a car and died. He knew me as the only person that ever loved him and I worked with him daily. Unfortunately, he was afraid of men and bolted and was killed and my family who grew to love him and who he grew to love were devastated. At least he had a few months of happiness but I still miss him terribly. Andreas wanted me to give him back but I could never have sent him back to a place where I knew he was abused.

Faith vom Zauberberg

AUTHOR: faithsowner - (United States of America)

I should say that Andreas should not go to jail, as that is wrong to say. But, he should not breed or be in charge of dogs. Faith was also underweight when we got her, but we have beefed her up a bit. We have also had our doubt as to her age, but her akc papers do say that their birthday is May 25, 2010.

Faith vom Zauberberg

AUTHOR: faithsowner - (United States of America)

I own Frolik's littermate, Faith, who I bought 3 days before Frolik was shipped to you. I met Frolik when i went to pick up Faith, before we flew home to the east coast together. I can say that Frolik was definitely scared, as is faith all the time. We have made tremendous progress, after countless thousands of dollars on trainers, who all say that she was abused and never socialized. As I write this, Faith is under my desk, not happy because of rain. Faith, and identical looking Frolik are gorgeous dogs, and I love Faith, but Andreas Muller should be in jail after what he did to my sweet, innocent girl
.
When we got Faith home, we put her in our fenced yard, and were not able to catch her and bring her into the house for r2 days as she was so terrified. I tell anyone who is looking into buying a trained dog from him to run as fast as you can, as the shock collars that he uses, compounded with the lack of socialization and "speed training" produce dogs who are sad and scared most of the time.

Whenever we have guests over, we have to give Faith meds to relax her as she gets so anxious. Men, especially those who look like Andreas, put her into a frenzy.

NEVER buy from Zauberberg K9.

Praise for ZauberbergK9

AUTHOR: TNdogowners - (United States of America)

My husband and I purchased a dog from Zauberberg three years ago this fall.  We have been more than happy with our healthy, intelligent, obedient and beautiful Rottweiler.  In all our dealings with Andreas Mueller and ZauberbergK9 we have found the company to be top notch, professional and exceedingly helpful.

We carefully researched breeders and trainers before ever contacting Andreas.  Both my husband and I spent a great deal of time in telephone conversations with Mr. Mueller who listened to our concerns (other smaller dogs in the home, country setting, etc.).  He literally 'interviewed' us before making his suggestions for a good fit for our family.  Since we live in Tennessee, we have never visited ZauberbergK9; but did both watch training videos on their website and read everything we could about preparing for our new dog.

While we cannot speak to this specific instance, we can state without a doubt that we would highly recommend Andreas Mueller and ZauberbergK9 to anyone looking for an amazing dog! Our Zauberberg bred Rottie is a daily pleasure and joy who makes new 'fans' wherever we take her.  We have recommended Andreas and Zauberberg to dozens of people and will continue to do so. The follow up assistance in training and care were and have been totally professional and we couldn't be happier nor more satisfied customers.

Andreas, the Prince Machivelli

AUTHOR: Red - (United States of America)

Who in their right mind expects a dog that left a rural kennel setting, was then air shipped cross country to a stranger to be docile.   Opening the dogs crate at the airport for anything but immediate loss of life, limb, or eyesight is something youd expect from a person whose family tree looks like a phone pole.  Of course it bolted.  Youd bolt too if you were abducted, your senses assaulted with all manner of indescribable sights, sounds, and sensations then allowed a chance to escape.

Now strangers chase the terrorized pup around the tarmac until it can be crammed back into the crate from hell only to be taken to another place where the very ground itself is different from anything its touched and youre surprised that it wasnt happy to see you?

What did you expect?  That the dog would calmly step out of the crate, click his heels together as he snapped to attention?  Bark with a German accent? Perhaps he was expected to bolt off and perform a perimeter sweep and submit a written report or flawlessly responding to a strangers strange commands?  What kind of protection would you expect from a dog who obeys commands from strangers? Why would this kid want to do anything for the human who just crammed it back into the crate from hell?

The dog stays in the tub or under the desk because it perceives them as cave, warren, or den like dwellings; it is trying to feel secure and is exhibiting normal behavior.  If youd been abducted youd seek sanctuary in a place that provides security.  All these dog experts of yours should have recognized this behavior.  Im on my third Zauberberg GSD and can assure you that experience operating a yorkie puppy mill and life with lap dogs in no way prepares one for high drive hyper intelligent GSDs.

My new dog, Nick was transported by car for four hours, and then released into my large walled, gated back yard.  I waited three hours to re-leash him and show him to his crate; things went surprisingly well.  Its now Friday and Nick played fetch this morning for the first time because Im his only contact, hes persona non grata (canid non grata??) to the rest of the family and I always have a treat.  He has begun to recognize me as the new pack leader and the source of everything desirable.

He is almost ready to begin hearing me give commands.  Anything sooner would teach him to ignore those words.

Judging a dog's age by looking at the teeth is subjective at best and is based on variables such as diet, lighting in the exam area, and preconceived opinions.  Since the bitch isn't as old as the vet said the pup was, Mr. Meuller's breeding techniques are advanced indeed.

But Elizabeth Mandarino and her team of experts have broken the code, in truth Andreas immigrated to the US twenty-five years ago, founded a thriving business where he trains dogs to win national and international championships (in performance not cute), is certified to testify in court as an expert in all things dog, trains police and military dogs and their handlers, and served for six years as president of the United States Rotweiller Association, all as part of some Machivellian plot to single out this one woman to bilk out of the cost of a dog.  Or is it possible that little Lizzy and her very knowledgeable dog trainers have way more dog than they can handle, acted foolishly and choose to salve their incompetence by blaming Herr Meuller?

As for Andreas character and bilking potential, he recently sold a potential service dog to a disabled veteran for less than half price with the assurance that he could try a puppy from a known bloodline with a thousand dollar refund of the original purchase price if Nick didnt work out in public.  Yep, Muellers busted; every twenty years he sells one malcontent a dog to finance his lavish lifestyle.

Testimony of satisfied Zauberberg customer

AUTHOR: Jkelly - (United States of America)

I read over the specifics here. How did I find out about this? Because I have contacted Andreas many times after purchasing a GSD puppy from him 3 years ago, and just contacted him recently.  I should point out that, although my dog is from different blood lines than Frolic...my dog is 3 years old. He weighs over 100 lbs (he is a BIG dog), and he has started greying around the muzzle.  That cute dog in the pictures of Frolic, this coming from no dog expert...that dog looks YOUNG. And very handsome, too. I can understand totally the owner's attachment to her "rescue dog." Please hear me out...

You can read my story as a testimonial online on the Zauberberg K9 website, but I am here to defend an awesome dog trainer and dog breeder...Andreas Mueller.

Briefly, like the lady here, I bought a dog from Andreas. Andreas interviewed me for 4 hours...how many "monster" breeders do that with each dog they sell to someone?  He wanted to make sure *I* was a good fit for one of his GSDs.  After the first week of owning a playful puppy, I found out I wasn't!  I returned the dog to Andreas, he took him back no questions asked.  A few days went by...and I had regrets, I went back and Andreas gave me back the dog...bathed. And it was one of those times in my life I was happy for a second chance.

When I had a family emergency, I was able to drop off my dog to Andreas for a week, late at night, no questions asked.  Any questions I've had, Andreas has ALWAYS been there for me.  I am a complete STRANGER to this guy. He only knows me as a person he sold a dog to.  He told me, when I remarked once at his availability, "When you own a Zauberberg dog, you are part of our family."

He meant it.  I am now training my dog on my own, but I always fall back on Zauberberg for answering questions because I want EXPERT advice.  He has been in the business for a long time.  He loves dogs, and he wants to be sure his dogs are a good fit.

Want to see what his dogs are capable of?  I have videos of me training him (not schutzhund) at lifeguarddog.com.  I am no dog trainer...my dog makes training effortless.  How is that possible?  Did I just get lucky, or is my dog from an excellent blood line?

I don't know what kind of dog the owner expected "out of the box", but I do know that Andreas is VERY reasonable, and stands behind his dogs.  That is why I stand behind him.

After reading these messages, it sounds like the owner loves Frolic. She should, he is a beautiful dog. And look at that tub?  Can you blame him for wanting to stay in it? Seriously, my advice is to stop listening to locals in Tampa, and get back in touch with Andreas. It is real easy to find people who will commiserate with misery and nitpick, it's a little tougher to find people who want to work out solutions.  Andreas deals in solutions.

I was in the exact same boat...overwhelmed.  I am testament that it is time well spent.  My vet told me, when I brought my dog in the first time.  He was timid, shy, wanted to hide under the table.  My vet said, "This dog will never be a good guard dog."

She should tell that to the pool guy who demands I lock the dog up inside each week! I said to the pool guy, "My dog has a big head, doesn't he?"

He said, "It's not his head, it's those big teeth I'm afraid of!"

My dog was super timid as a puppy.  When he got home and acclimated, he became very protective of me and my family, and "his" back yard.

My dog is super protective. And well balanced.  I can take him out in public (Tucson has leash laws), for my own sanity, I muzzle him.  I am no dog trainer, but if the owner would put forth some effort...Frolic loves the tub?  Start training him from the tub!  Meet Frolic half way, and I bet that dog will amaze you just as much as my dog amazes me.  If the owner wants, I make yearly trips to the Tampa area via car.  I would be happy to pick of Frolic and return him to Andreas on my next
visit in a few weeks.

Take my advice, give Frolic some time.  He is in a new area, he needs time to adjust. Ask anybody that started a new job...butterflies in the stomach is a polite euphemism for getting sick.  I cannot say enough how happy a customer I am.

In closing, I have done business for many years with many different people.  Andreas Mueller (and his crew at Zauberberg K9) are not only good business people, they are great people.  This is one dog owner who is proud to be part of the Zauberberg family.

 Owner editMichael,

Mueller admits the dog was filthy and ungroomed. Did you really read the emails? I had professionals by my side through the entire purchase. They spoke directly with him. We are not stupid. I know animal behavior. I am a trainer in my own right and have used the Tritonics collar successfully. I have a slew of vets who will back me up. This is not my first rodeo and I will not be intimidated by you or Mueller. If you have been crawling the internet trying to find dirt on me then you certainly learned I do not back down. While my dog may not have prey instincts, I do and Frolic cant speak for himself so I am his voice.

If you are his "friend" than you should talk to him and tell him to do the right thing. He sold a dog as a family protection dog (did he show you that email - I have it in black and white and professionals who explained exactly what I was looking for to him). and what I received is the equivalent of a rescue. If he didnt bolt at the airport, he would have bolted when we arrived home or the next day. Considering I live in an unpopulated area with lots of woods, I most likley would never have found him and he would probably be dead right now.

You say Mueller has his own grooming facility. That only makes that he sent Frolic out in that condition more reprehensible. Would you  like documentation from my personal groomer who comes to my farm once a week and grooms my dogs? I can get that to.

You say give the dog back to a place where I know he was not treated properly. What will Mueller do with him? Bounce him around into another home? worse? I am not even sure I am the first home Frolic has been placed in. Frolic trusts me. I am probably the only one he has ever trusted. I did not bargain for a dog that is not adaptable and that I have to cater to 24/7 but guess what, its not about me now is it? It is about a dog who should be given a chance. Your posts even suggest that he pulled one over on me.

Go kiss your dog Michael instead of kissing Muellers you know what...

He stayed an extra month with Mueller supposedly for the advanced training.

His AKC papers say he is 11 months but his teeth say he is 3 or 4 years old.

If this is a photo of the dog.  Not trying to be mean. Who told you you can tell a dogs age by their teeth??????  First I've ever heard of such a thing, I mean you can tell a dogs age while it is still a baby but after that......I would seriously question the experts that are trying to help you.    A month of training does not make a dog an advanced trained dog.  In a month you can teach basic commands on and off leash but you will not have any sort of reliability with most dogs ( again generalizing all dogs learn at differnt speeds)  What exactly did he say the dog would know when he came to you?

 Owner editMichael,

Here is the email that YOU read... where does it say that I can send the dog back when  it is healthy?

From:ElizabethTo:Andreas MuellerBcc:Victoria >Subject:Re: FrolicDate:Mon, Apr 9, 2012 3:25 pmI would not be able to get a health certificate as he is sick and  on medication and under a doctors care. That you would even suggest he get in a plane when sick speaks volumes. You should not have any dogs in your care with the condition in which he arrived. Numerous professionals have seen the condition you sent him in and are horrified.

Good evening Andreas,  I will be in my office at the number below all day tomorrow as this is the day I catch up on paperwork from the weekends show.  As a bit of background, my daughter and I ....[redcated] My daughter has Jack Russells that are very friendly, well mannered and not aggressive at all. My poodles are snuggly loves. We travel on the circuit in a motor home and my dogs accompany us everywhere. All the Jacks except for one prefer to be home on the farm as they need daily exercise running the farm. We have electric fences and wood fencing on both of our farms but only need the electric fencing for the safety of the Jacks. The electric fence prevents the Jacks from entering the paddocks with the ponies and horses. My dogs are all off leash and are only on leash at competitions in accordance with USEF rules or in situations which require it for their safety. I have children who have had animals in their lives since birth and have been taught to respect animals. My husband [redacted] I work late nights in my barn office alone in a rural area and was in the office when the vandalism occurred. The police believe [redacted]  the farm in Ocala is located in a neighborhood with a higher crime rate than our farm up north.  I love animals and Frolic would be treated as a family pet and would get maintained with any professional training [redacted] thought necessary. He would be a house dog and sleep in my bedroom. I do not need an aggressive dog, just one that would be protective and appear as a threat to others. [redacted] feels I need a shepherd that has advanced obedience training but not necessarily shutzshund (sp?) training. I found your site online and forwarded it to [redacted] a week or two ago and fell in love with Faith and Frolic. [redacted], have been advising me and helping me with my search. [redacted] has spent endless hours on the phone information gathering and screening breeders and trainers. I understand that someone else is interested in Frolic but has not put a deposit on him and I would like to do so as [redacted] feels he is exactly what I am looking for. I hope my email has been helpful information to you and look forward to speaking with you.  Regards,Elizabeth

#16 Consumer Suggestion

Another Mr. Anonymous Has to Muddy the Water.

AUTHOR: k9db - (United States of America)

"If you are such good friends with him I suggest you tell him he does the right thing and refund her the money for a dog that is now a rescue dog."

Are you suggesting now the dog is good enough to keep. Since she rescued it for $7000 and load of defamation?

I think there is a point that a business owner has to say enough is enough and that nothing can be done here.  I feel your an emotional vulture, and you are stirring your friend. I suggest this stop immediately.  She apologize for the emotional unpinning and ship the dog back to them immediately or keep the dog.

Return the Dog, Scenario 1:

-Send the AKC papers executed correctly via FedEx
-Ship the dog when the heat embargo ends.
-Receive the refund for the dog

Keep the dog, Scenario 2:

-Keep the dog
-Define the owners training goals
-Work with Andreas with the training to ensure the dog recovers well from the trauma

These are my heartfelt suggestions. Thank you!

I will call Andreas tomorrow. But from last call with him, he was very upset and felt damaged by your friend. I don't know where this is going. But it looks like maybe your both went too far.

PS. Look at poor Frolic, LOOKING AWESOME!

stick to the facts

If you know Andreas so well and think so highly of his dogs then please, since he has yet to talk to the owner, why would he send a dog to a woman that is new to breed and training without any instructions? Why didn't he suggest how to let the dog out from the crate, what commands to call him to you, how to spend the first 24 hours. Why did he not provide food for the dog so he would not have a hard time adjusting to a new food in a new environment? Please if you are 100% confident in him please help us understand how he could send a dog that knows none of the commands he quickly typed out to her in an email? This dog was not going to a professional and he knew that...if he truly wanted to help he should have been working with her long before the dog arrived on what to prepare for with him. At least he should have recognized this dog is very soft in tempermant but with a rushed training dog he is a complete mess. It is so sad to see a dog ruined by a so called professional. If you are such good friends with him I suggest you tell him he does the right thing and refund her the money for a dog that is now a rescue dog.

stick to the facts

AUTHOR: savefrolic1 - (United States of America)

This guy may have been helped with his dogs by Andreas but that does not change the fact that Andreas shipped an unsuitable dog to a woman who paid a substantial amount of money to feel safe at night. He knew that is what she wanted. Now she has a dog that hides from everyone and sleeps in her bathtub. This is not normal. The dog was scared before she set eyes on him. How good can a breeder and trainer truly be if they send a dog with no instructions to a new owner, no food to transition with and mats from never being bathed? He may have given you books but he obviously needs to read them himself. His only admittance was he probably should have bathed the dog...I don't buy it. He knew what he was doing and thought since it was part family pet that it may fly. Well guess what it didn't. And this dog has gone through so much due to his lack of care for his well being.

Stick to the facts...

AUTHOR: doglover - (United States of America)

I did let Mr. Mueller know that I was inexperienced and asked numerous times for the promised training video and list of commands. I was told that he preferred to not give me the commands until the dog acclimated and all he did was give me log in information to his "online training". I did not let the dog out of the kennel at the airport. He bolted from the crate. NO INSTRUCTIONS CAME WITH THE DOG. Not even what food the dog was used to eating. He still to this day has not provided this information. He had no collar, no leash, only a health paper. After the fact, Mr. Mueller stated the dog should have been let out of the kennel in a small enclosed area. Doesn't this lead you to believe he knew the dog had a bolting problem? I would think an advanced behaviorally trained dog would have some skills regardless of the distractions.

I also wanted to fly out and Mr. Mueller discouraged me from doing so. I should have gone first hand. My bad.

I have called the vet who health certified the dog and she has not returned my calls or emails. There is no way a dog that was heavily matted and 50 pounds should have been health certified. There are other problems with the health certificate also.

I have had a professional observe the dog and they are of the opinion that the dog has been fried on the collar and is a very expensive rescue. He does not perform any of the commands supposedly taught to him. His video provided days after his delivery shows a very unhappy dog performing but it looks to me as he is zapped by the collar and my professionals opinion also.

My vet ages the dog at 3 to 4 years old. I have this in writing from my veterinarian based on an analysis of his teeth. The dog was supposed to be 10 months old. I just received a call from my vet as she wants him to be tested for EPI based on his latest blood tests. Maybe I am inexperienced, but EPI is not a result of an inexperienced handler.

I posted here on the advice of the GSD Club of America and I was old to call Peter Oja of the Scottsdale Schutzhund Club as he has had poor dealings with Mr. Mueller. I have received numerous calls and emails about Mr. Mueller and his bad business dealings.

I paid for a dog that was to be a family protection dog and was supposed to have advanced behavioral training. I did not get what I paid for. Mr. Mueller has two days remaining to refund me my monies or I will be pursueing any and all avenues.

Shall I send the dog back? Based on what I am told, Mr. Mueller should not be trusted to refund my monies as others have been burned by him. Would you send the dog back to a place that sent him malnourished, heavily matted and unsocialized?

Michael, in defending Mr. Mueller, you also defame my name and are a bit irrational in your posts. Look up the definition of defamation. If I post the truth, it is not defamation. And I am emotional when I receive a dog in such condition whether I paid $7 or $7000. As an animal lover, how could I not be. I am the one rehabilitating the dog day and night. It is you Michael who is deflecting from the facts.

Sour Grapes from Elizabeth Mandarino, DogLover or Deadly Diva

AUTHOR: k9db - (United States of America)

(My response at Pedigree Database: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/german_shepherd_dog/forum.read?mnr=179274#179348)

Whoa! Hold the horse's everyone. This is a client dispute between Andreas and Elizabeth Mandarino. Take a better peek friends, Ms. GSDlover67 Joined 23-APR-12 , solely to defame Andreas this is her only post.

We order dogs from Andreas and I train with him when I have the time. I respect him enough to have picked up the phone and call him rather then listen to "rum and ice" comments and slanderings. His number is 5204192199.

The reality is she bought the dog from Andreas. She is inexperienced and let the dog out of the crate at the airport and the dog went loose at the airport for 3 hours. The entire time her and strangers chased this poor dog down. Finally she gets the dog.  Mind you, this all happened after flying from Arizona and Florida.

Andreas had called her the whole weekend to find out how the delivery went. When he finally connected, on Monday, she explained the situation.  Again, not Saturday the day of delivery.

Then she lets the dog loose again at her farm!

The dog was scared and had stressed induced colotis. Wonder why? Flight, getting for chased for 3 hours, and the let loose at the farm with no leash with little to zero acclimation. Some is asking to much from there dog to quickly? I think so.

The fact is the dog had a health certificate before the flight. Andreas sent me emails where he offered her 100% of the purchase price back.

A new problem ensued--The dog could not get a health certificate to fly back! Good Job Mrs. Mandarino!  Finally Andreas forwarded me a litany of unreasonable and vicious emails from Mrs. Mandarino. UNACCEPTABLE!  At one point she began to claim the dogs is not the dog she bought and demanded a DNA. Go for it, I say!

What else, she says she wont ship the dog back--WHO'S THE MONSTER?

Every word that I have read has caused more harm than good. Now she is on here and some of you want to pile on.  Should the roles should reversed, "SELLER BEWARE OF ELIZABETH MANDARINO!!! DONT SHIP HER A DOG!"  How does that sound?

The fact is Andreas wanted to help her in every way. Not one word the otherwise. (Where is the place where people can complain about consumers and there machinations?

I encourage the defense of Andreas, and dog breeders that have had to deal with the clients that simply shouldn't own dogs.

PS. I have meet no less that 20 of his clients through the last few years, satyed at his guest home, trained dogs with him, owned his dogs, and have had help from in every step of the way. When I was just a neophyte learning about the breed and dogs, he helped me in every way.  Bought me books, spoke with me over the phone, and today he is a geniune friend that I feel 100% confident to do business with. Lets not let some sourpuss ruin a good thing. Give him a call and talk direct.

Thanks!
