A-Plus Electric One hour, $474 later!!! Niles Illinois

I needed an additional outlet for installation of a hot water heater. I called A-Plus Electric to install the outlet. The individual I talked to said they charged $60 per hour. Two electrical workers from A-Plus showed up the next day at 8:30 am. THey said they needed to install a new line complete with a seperate breaker. They were done in about an hour. One of the electricians claimed there was some water damage to my electrical box and convinced me to replace a couple more breakers. He also said he would seal the opening to the outside.

By 9:40 they were completely done. The bill came out to $474. THey said the rate was $60 per man hour but charged me $180 total. When I called,  the person who answered said to me said they charged an additional man hour for the next 30 minutes. I informed him they spent about an hour 10 minutes total. He said it did not matter. He claimed an additional man hour would be charged even if they spent an additional 5 minutes.

The 50 feet of wire came out to $74. THey charged $50 for the sealer. THe hole they put the sealer in was about an inch in diameter.

It cost me $474 to put in one outlet and took them an hour. I thought it was outrageous!!! I was informed an hour of labor was $60 before the job was done. I was charged $180. I would not reccommend A-Plus to anyone unless you are prepared to part with a lot of money. They were deceptive in their pricing and priced some of their supplies they used ridiculously high.

When I called the manager he refused to reiduce the charges and claimed I agreed to them by signing the bill. He hung up on me when I threatened to report him on this web site. Stay as far as you can from these people and find a reputable electician.
