Received a letter from Aback Financial Group today. Stated I had won $50,000 and they were including a check for $3,950.00 "to help you offset your tax service fee obligation of $1,950.00". I am told not to deposit the check until I have talked to someone at 1-505-652-4778 who will explain the process. Right!!
Enough red flags flew that we could have had a parade.
The company name at the top of the letter does not match the name at the bottom. Plus for some reason the name is typed with a period after the middle name.
The signature on the letter doesn't even match the name typed under it.
In the body of the letter I am told my balance of the 50K is $46,50.00.
Two different claim numbers.
A letter of this type would have come certified or registered.
I believe this is just a rehash of a rip off from 2012. The names were changes to protect the guilty but the scam is just the same.
