The ABC-Nevada Chapter is an un organized group that do not deliver the correct training. Do not use them for your safety training as it is not valid. The OSHA classes are illegal. We had spanish students in the class who could not understand the instructor so they just faked it and were told that they were going to get an OSHA card. I looked it up on the OSHA website. They have to have theses classes conducted in spanish. I have called many times looking for my OSHA card and I get no response. Not Cool Man as I need to go to work.. Now I have to find another class. Thank you for Ripping me off ABC Or Associated builders & Contractors Nevada Chapter.

ABC - Nevada Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors Rebuttal

AUTHOR: ABC Nevada - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, August 25, 2012

I would like to thank Ripoff Report for the opportunity to set the record straight regarding allegations of not offering valid training. I would have responded sooner this is just the first time I have ran across your site.

As an active organization and good corporate citizens we believe part of our mandate is to respond to community educational and training needs and offer participants opportunities for safety training. To meet the State OSHA new safety requirements of the local construction market, we need to foster safety habits in all workers in the construction industry and encourage their development.

We have trained over 5000 individuals in OSHA over the past 3 years and this is the allegation below is not founded. If the individual listed below felt that they did not get the quality service that we are know for we would be more then happy to reimburse them. The OSHA cards on average take 4-6 weeks to be delivered, as well as, we give all individuals that complete our course temporary cards on the final day of class so that they may have the documentation that they need for employers to ensure they are eligible for employment.

As for the allegation of allowing a student in the course that could not understand the instructor. We offer classes in both English and Spanish. We have a process to ensure that all candidates are able to compatibly absorb materials as prescribed by the OSHA Training Institute.

The curriculum is a competency-based, safety oriented training program. It is designed to maximize learning by combining illustrated instructional materials for the student with structured classroom activities conducted by the OSHA Certified Instructors. These activities provide reinforcement of basic ideas, hands-on experience and interpretation of local practice. Upon successful completion participants will receive an OSHA Card.

OSHA Outreach Training Program is OSHA's primary way to train workers in the basics of occupational safety and health. The OSHA 10 Hour Outreach Training Programs were developed by the OSHA Training Institute with the intent to assist employers in training and introducing employees to the basic practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting hazards associated with their work.

This course is designed for construction workers, foremen, job supervisors, and anyone involved in the construction industry. OSHA recommends Outreach Training Program courses as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA 29 CFR 1926. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of the job. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an OSHA 10-Hour

Construction Outreach DOL course completion card within 4-6 weeks.
