On July 2, 2003 I thouroughly inspected and puchased an excellent condition floor model TV set. The TV set was delivered on July 7th. The delivery men pulled up and within literally 5 minutes, unloaded, and "dumped" the TV in my family room, and were gone.(My 17 yr old daughter gave me the details).

They broke the bottom corner of the laminated console as well as the wood structure underneath. The picture screen had a line inside, none of this was there when I picked it out at the showroom! I am a single mom with 3 kids, it took me 5 years to get enough money saved for this TV.

I called ABC the next day and they said they would call me back, no reply, this has gone on for 1-1/2 months from date of purchase! The salesman took the liberty of refering to me as "BABE" which is unprofessional. The owner of the repair service for the screen defect ABC hired told me to ask the manager for a replacement TV - for the fact that I would need 2 service companies to fix this TV. I insisted they replace my TV.

I asked the manager to help in this area as I was a repeat customer and had bought all my appliances from them in the past. He said that previous purchases from ABC had nothing to do with this. The manager insulted my intelligence further stating they would only honor my request if I had called within 7 days of purchase, which I had called on July 8th, as well as several calls over the past 1-1/2 months!

I was blown off everytime! Promising that J.R., the manager would call me back, he didn't. The salesman I purchased this TV through stated upon purchase, that if anything was wrong with the TV they would replace it. I also purchased a 5 yr. warranty with this set. They have not honored this nor any other promises made by the store salesman. I am still waiting for J.R. to call back.

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

broken tv delivered

AUTHOR: Kraut - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, August 30, 2008

This is exactly the reason you don't leave a 17 y.o home alone to accept a delivery. When the drivers delivered the set your daughter was asked to sign a delivery waiver stating the tv WAS or was NOT in good condition upon delivery. If the tv was damaged in transit then your daughter should of not signed off on the waiver and the tv would have been returned to the store by the driver and a new one delivered in its place.

A lot of customer service people call customers by monichers i.e babe, hon, or sweetie. That's just nitpicking on your part because you're unhappy with your delivery. Do you act the same way in mcdonalds or the grocery store when the young attractive 18 y.o boy calls you by that by name? I doubt you do.....
