When my mother first bought this trailer it was under Richard Hunn. And since Hauck homes took over ownership we started to get charged for water. I rents been increased. The water pipes frozen up on some of the trailers. Some of the people on fixed incomes had to move because they could not afford living out here. Because he wants to make it a gated community. But some of these trailers are not up to code. And the water is in really bad. There is a boiled order all the time. Some people are struggling due to a medical problems. So with him double dipping the consumer he should get in trouble. ABT water should be look into since it is owned by the same people how is controlling a monopoly.  And a monopoly is need to be broke down.

Hauck Homes, Inc. response to clarify misunderstanding/miscommunication

AUTHOR: Hauck Homes, Inc. - ()

POSTED: Friday, August 15, 2014

I am very sorry to hear all of this and I feel that there must be some kind of misunderstanding or miscommunication. So if you would be so kind as to hear us out I think we can clear this misunderstanding up.

Hauck Homes, Inc. in no way owns or operates ABT Water Management of Beloit WI. ABT is a privately owned company with a very good reputation.

In late 2012 Hauck Homes, Inc. contracted with ABT Water Management to install water meters on all of the homes in Mt. Morris Estates and to handle all billing & payments. Once meters were installed we reduced the monthly lot rent by $40 per month since water was no longer included. During the entire process we sent multiple letters out to every resident to try to keep everyone informed. Since installing the water meters many leaks have been found and fixed, which has reduced the communities over all monthly usage of water by 40%.

This system allows every family in Mt. Morris Estates to pay a fair price based on their own water usage. Our water & sewer rates are exactly the same as the Village of Mt. Morris.

This past winter was terrible for homeowners everywhere not just those in a manufactured home. It is very important for everyone living in a manufactured home to prepare for winter by making sure heat tape is operating properly, pipes are insulated, skirting and underpinning is intact. We understand even with these precautions things can malfunction and frozen pipes may occur. Our maintenance department personnel was willing to work long hours in the cold to help everyone who had issues.

Our goal is actually opposite of a gated community, we strive every year to keep our communities affordable, safe, attractive and accessible to everyone. Our property managers also perform weekly inspections in the community to ensure IL Department of Public Health requirements are maintained.

As for our water quality we follow strict regulations which require us to test, treat and report on the water supply. We contract with a professional licensed water operator to test and treat the Mt. Morris water supply. They also prepare all reports and test samples which get sent to the IEPA. All water quality reports are available to any resident at our community office.

Regarding boil orders: Boil orders are only issued when a breach in the water system occurs. (IE:break) These are done as a precaution until we get the water tested safe for drinking again. Since Hauck Homes Inc. has owned and operated this water system we have not had a single water quality violation.

Hauck Homes has improved yet another system of communication with our residents. We can send out a phone broadcast call notifying everyone affected by a boil order. Once we receive satisfactory test results back from the water test lab we notify the affected residents that the boil order has been lifted.

Again Hauck Homes Inc apologizes that you feel this way and hope that we have cleared up any misunderstanding or miscommunication.

In the future if you have any further questions, doubts or concerns, please contact our community office or our corporate office.
