Paul Dickey, owner of Accurate Pool & Spa in Watertown Wisconsin Ripped Me Off for $1,002.26 in Facebook advertising costs.

Paul Dickey is a swimming pool builder in Watertown Wisconsin. Paul Dickey was worried that he would never be able to retire from the swimming pool construction and hot tub business in Watertown Wisconsin because it is a services business and approached me with an idea to start selling pool parts to other swimming pool construction companies across North America.

I built a large e-commerce site with the 20,000+ products, and after a few months, Paul Dickey delivered a new hot tub as payment. He was apparently satisfied with my services, or would not have delivered the hot tub and proceeded with the installation.

Some months later, I was asked by Accurate Pool and Spa's owner, Paul Dickey, to provide search engine optimization services and social media marketing. As compensation for the SEO and social media marketing services, Paul Dickey agreed to share in profits from the sales of the e-commerce website and pay the costs of social media ads on Facebook.

I spent a few hundred hours optimizing the entire database of products, importing product and pricing updates a few times over the first couple of years as supplied by his vendor, Horizon Pool & Parts (horizonparts.com). Despite seeing thousands of dollars per month in sales, enough for Paul to commit $100,000 in parts sales to his vendor, I never saw one red cent of commission. I got excuses instead, about how Horizon Pool & Parts had changed the actual wholesale prices without providing new data. Paul Dickey claimed that what should have been considerable net profits were actually losses.

Being an extremely reasonable man, I didn't hold Accurate Pool and Spa to the fire. I continued to work with Paul Dickey and Horizon Pool & Parts to maintain the website and continued to update as requested and as new pool & spa parts databases became available.

I had earned literally thousands of number 1 rankings in Google and Bing search engine results, and saw over $10,000 per month in parts sales coming through the website, but when asked, Paul Dickey complained that Horizon Pool & Parts had old data, out of stock parts and prices that were actually much higher than in the databases that we'd been supplied.

OK. Maybe this was the case. In either case, I couldn't accurately document the net profits from which Paul should have shared commissions. I did build a website worth over $20,000. I did provide free web hosting for three years. I did pay the domain name for three years. I did provide proven effective SEO for three years. Not one cent collected in sales commissions despite approximately a quarter million in sales.

My biggest beef, not being able to prove the rest, is that when marketing for Accurate Pool and Spa of Watertown Wisconsin on Facebook, Paul Dickey supplied me with his credit card information in order to place his Facebook ads. When Paul received over 3,000 likes to his Facebook page and Facebook tried to collect their $1,002.26, Paul Dickey cancelled his credit card which left me stuck with the Facebook ads for his business.

Accurate Pool and Spa received the Facebook likes that were ordered by Paul Dickey, yet I have had to pay Facebook out of my own pocket, after having provided Paul with 3 years of top quality services at no charge!

To make it all worse, Paul Dickey hired my web designer out from under me, Dan Martin of Martin Web Designs in Watertown Wisconsin because Dan Martin had told him he could make his website "prettier" if only Paul had hired Martin Web Designs directly.

Well, this is the website that Martin Web Designs of Watertown Wisconsin created - accuratepoolspas.com/index.php and this is a website that I gave a really sweet deal to Accurate Pool & Spa's main competitor Accurate Spa & Pool - poolsinwisconsin.com/index.html . You be the judge. Which website is "prettier"? My new website is one week old at this date and already outranking the new website that Paul threw me under the bus for.

Dan Martin of Martin Web Designs in Watertown was simply an intern in training, yet Paul thought he somehow knew more about web design, web development and search engine optimization that the IT professional with 20 years of experience. Big mistake Paul because now you have to try to compete against me with an inexperienced amateur. Pay your Facebook bill.
