Hello, I would like to share my experience with a work at home company called ACD Direct (www.acddirect.com). I found this company on a work at home job website. A few days after I submitted my resume, I was informed I would have an interview. I called the company for the interview and spoke with a lady named Glynnis, who I immediately noticed had a lousy attitude and was exceptionally rude. Despite this, I got the job and then paid my $30 background fee via Paypal. After the payment was not applied so I could sign up for training and no one returned my e-mails, I called Glynnis up and she became extremely rude to me about calling her. I stood up to her and told her, well I had no other number to call. I was just blown away by how rude Glynnis was. So I started the online training and had a lady named Melissa Houghton as my trainer. She kinda struck me as the last person who should be a trainer there, because she was so impatient and was so rude to people. Trainers, as everyone reading this knows, need to have patience and be nice with people. On my second day of training, Melissa did test calls with everyone where the trainees would be the agent and she would be the caller. This was done in front of everyone. When it was my turn, Melissa blatantly sexually harassed me by acting TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE toward me. It's 2008 and if a guy trainer had done this to a female, he would have been fired on the spot. So she knew I was uncomfortable with this. She remarked she was glad I was in the class (I was the only guy) so she could do something like this. After she could sense my discomfort level, she soon removed me from training (I had made a 93 and a 100 on our two tests). She then told me to go to a different training class. She claimed I struggled on a script call, even though I had the hardest one and others in the class equally struggled. She is a trainer and is supposed to teach us the system. There was a black girl in the class who could not complete her script call, and yet she wasn't removed like me. I obviously was removed because I let her know my discomfort over her sexually harassing me. About 2 hours later, Melissa got this weirdo old trainer Dave to call me on the phone and he cowardly blocked his number. He wouldn't respond to me on the phone and I could hear him breathing. He obviously was harassing me because of what happened between Melissa and I. I was in the same training room as Dave and he could have talked with me on the computer or via IM-he DID NOT need to call me. So I then was told by this quality control manager Dianne Treadwell, that I was now inactive and did not have this job. Although I work full time and just thought this would be a neat part time job, I just didn't appreciate how someone who was sexually harassed lost his job. I have spoken with an investigator with the US Employment Equal Opportunity Commission and have file an federal complaint against Melissa and the company. I have all of the contact numbers for their customers (St Jude Hospital is their main one) and will be sharing my horrific experience with them. Just because I am a male, I WILL NOT BE SEXUALLY HARRASSED BY ANYONE!!! After reading the comments, which by the way are 3 years old, I came to the conclusion that some of the disgruntled contractors may have legitimate complaints.  Also you should know that their always exists the strong possibility that some of the positive comments MAY be from ACD Direct employees, supervisors, trainers, and what have you.

The best way to check out a company is not just complaint boards such as this one, but also you may wish to check out the FTC site (Federal Trade Commission).  They receive complaints and act accordingly.  There are numerous outside agencies that can and will investigate legitimate complaints, and they WILL act on the findings.

So in conclusion, don't believe everything that you read.  It seems that there MUST be some truth to the comments and reports on this forum, as I have also done some in depth research into this company.  So far nothing has been found in error or lawsuit with the Federal Government.  There are no indications of malfeasance or fraud, but you just never know.

Everybody performs and succeeds at different levels, some people are just better at certain things than others. They may be scams artist but it sounds like some people are having some success so instead of being angry becuase the (black girl) wasn't removed like you were and if she wasn't black you probably wouldn't have pointed out the girls race so instead of that maybe you just can't read scripts well. In this case I think the problem may just be you instead of the company.

  There is no other company to work for from home but "LiveOps" they are the #1 rated work from home company. I worked though them for about five years, couldn't hold a regular job any longer due to illness. In the beginning I worked full time and made a grand in two weeks easy. It wasnt' like working at all. The people are above reproach. The trainners are excellent and go with the flow. They are asked the dumbest questions I've ever heard on line and on conference calls but the are professinally addressed. You work the schedule you choose, work when you want or not when you want a day off. They charge $50 background check but it's more than worth it. Most people do this full time, some students do this until they finish school. You will never incounter rudeness, harrassement, have your questions unanswered etc on and on. The trainners are graded on how good they train. How well the people do on the calls is a direct reflection on them, but they are just down right great people. You sign onto their site not like cloud10 avoid them at all costs. They have you download a pile of mess onto your computer and it doesn't work 90% of the time so if you can't get it to work they don't help you but drop you. The jobs are time limited and you can go 6 months or longer without work or never be asked again. LiveOps is on going. I think, if I remember right you can go about 45 days without working before they drop you. They pay like clockwork and you can see your invoice everyday from the day before, review it and hit submit. I have shared this info with alot of people who are out of work or struggling. Most don't bother to even look at their site. You can't lead a horse to water. If they are that stupid not to check it out without obligation, they are too stupid to even do this. You will love this company and love the work. When I first started I took food orders. I did well and worked my chosen schedule so I was then offered direct response or DR as they call it. When people call in to place orders, now that's where the money is. Alot of people end up quitting there full time jobs and just work liveops. I had to quit because I just got so sick I was lucky if I could do an hour or two a day. I finally had my disability come though so I can't even dable in it. I'm in bed sick all the time but I really miss it. It was fun, fun talking to others all over the 50 states. We have a chat room we chatted inbetween calls. Work weekend days and you'll make a killing. You'd be surprised how fast the money ads up. They send a 1099 form to the good ole IRS at the end of the year. I suggest to hold back 15% of each check put in a savings account let it earn interest and pay the irs at the end of the year. Heck, they sure don't pay us interest on our money when they hold it for a year. Good Luck! hope you go for it you won't be sorry. I'm about ready to stop telling anyone becasue they don't even ck into it. Alot of people think the only way to make money is brick and moter. I took 2 years to find them and now they are in magazines and on good morning america ever so often. This is great money, takes a little while to get going and the more you work the more calls youll get. If you work your schedule you'll have a high % rating which changes daily. A high one sends more calls to you so you work less time and make more money

Rude and unprofessional

I decided to give this company a chance and can say everything is true! First off I am a female and have been called names the latest being wishey washy.  They are rude and unprofessional. They cannot make up there mind and there choaching forms are complete b.s. all over the board with their complaints. They are constantly sending threats about not singining up for shifts. I have been yelled at for asking a caller to repeat their information but if I get the wrong information then I receive an error. You get yelled at for call time constantly. They come across as super nice then the truth comes out. Asking questions in chat is a joke as they never get back to you then find a way to penalize you. This company is not worth the time. You must pay for every tier earned. I have choosen not to get St. Jude etc not worth the hassle. !

Still getting emails from ACD

I emailed ACD more than once asking to be removed from their interview list. They responded each time that they would but the emails keep pouring in. I prefer not working as a IC as the taxes are quite high.

Working with West has been great and they deduct income tax from your pay just like most employers do. They guarantee your hourly rate at either the per minute rate or minimum wage, whichever is greater. Thank goodness for that as I have worked some shifts with only one or two calls per hour.

So the guy who alleged to be sexually harassed, how about an update?

This company is completely unprofessional and just flat out rude. It wouldn't surprise me that they sexually harass their employees. They can't even keep their interview times. When I called after the interviewer was 30 min late I got some woman who was obviously iming people to find out what happened. So after about 10 min of waiting on hold I told the lady this is not how SUCCESSFUL PROFESSIONAL companies operate. If you set an interview time you keep it, if you have to change it then you email or call the person interviewing (24 hours ahead of time per ACD's own instructions to the candidate for rescheduling) and reschedule it. Period. I was a recruiter before getting laid off and I know how it works, that was the first red flag. The email the interviewer sent 3 hours PAST the interview time was just ridiculous and the second red flag. I told that lady to take me off of their little email list. Which of course they didn't. This was about 4 months ago, today I got an email saying that I was picked to be interviewed. So just for kicks and giggles I went and logged in and wow what a shocker there were no interview times, they were completely booked. Are you joking me? This is not how you run a business, what a crock. I emailed the company and asked them why they were sending out notifications that I was picked for an interview when they had no interview times available. And of course they didn't respond, I mean why would they it's only their JOB. I mean really, this is a crock. I have my own opinions about the people who run and operate this company, and the location and fake names of their employees tells me everything I need to know along with the crap pay they offer their employees. You can lie to yourself and say that this is a great company and you've never had issues but you're only lying to yourself. This is a place you to go to work for when even Wal-Mart and McDonalds wont hire you. It's worse than a joke, it's an insult to people who really need the work and want to stay at home with their families.

This is so hilarious I've been reading these comments and post. my sister and I are tearing up here. You (the author of this post) seem to have nothing better to do but comment on a so called "black girl" who trained with you. If you where on the phone how did you know what ethnicity she was? Should someone make a post about how that could determine the type of person you are? I read the original post and I still don't see any harassment. They should step up and take action against this post. It looks like you made up this second guy who mysteriously agrees with you but he doesn't show sexual harassment either. And as for the replies you are giving these people, they are so high school. I think you have a chip on your shoulder and you should be careful about what you are saying. If you worked for me i would be scared you would lie on me if I made you upset. i mean really, how old are you? Do you always describe people as Black or white or Hispanic? Did you create these accounts to make rebuttals on your behalf? LOL get a hobby.

Hey Bernie!
Prior to Sept 2007, West contracted their at home agents as Independent Contractors. At the time all training was NOT paid and if we needed to speak to a PAL, and you weren't on a call, you weren't paid for that time. This includes any tech issues. In September 2007 when they did the conversion to employees, not all states were invited (guess there was some legality issues) and many folks lost their opportunity to provide services to West (I was one of them).
We were also not guaranteed minimum wage. You were only paid when you were on a call, unless you worked a block (or a client) that had a guaranteed rate.
Don't get me wrong...I was with West for over 2 yrs at that time and I loved every bit of it! Even the bad times....I knew what I was getting into when I worked with West and I was grateful to be able to work from home and make a decent wage at the time.


For those that are considering working for ACD Direct...I implore you to review the information above carefully. I am not affiliated with ACD, nor do I work for them. I did interview with the company and found them to be professional and courteous-even when I had technical difficulties, they were wonderful to me. I opted to not continue in my employment search with them because the work was too cyclical for me. I would not hesitate to consider them in the future because they treated me professionally. The OP here may have a case/may not - I don't know but I find their tone and demeanour when replying to others on here to be uncalled for and unprofessional. I was always taught to "consider the source" when you are receiving feedback, and based on their behavior above (and nothing else) I don't find them to be credible.

I have been getting numerous emails to interview with this company and am sure glad I decided not to go through with it.

I currently work for West and whoever said they don't pay for training is mistaken.

I was allowed 21 days of paid training for Sh** N**. I am not an independent contractor but an actual employee who gets a W2. West is a good company.

I can somewhat agree on the feedbacks being a little absurd. I felt it was a personal attack as it seemed the same PAL left each feedback. I was marked for things I was "trained" to do.

Oh Well, nothing is perfect.

I overlooked your silly response (sure that's par for the couse for your pathetic life) and will respond now. LOL, I got 15 witnesses who heard Melissa harass me. It was done in a CHAT ROOM. If you had read my original complaint, you would have noticed that, moron, maybe learn how to READ. I reported it to ALL the higher ups at ACD Direct, and they all were too cowardly to respond. I called Noah Rosales, the half owner, and he wouldn't return my calls. LOL me getting sued, if you knew anything, you would know revenge for a sexual harrassment claim isn't allowed. You make me sick to live in the same state as you. Sure you would have enjoyed being sexually harrassed, you disgusting waste of life. Go learn how to read and keep your ignorance to yourself.

haha michelle , do you always lie like that?. Because West pays you for training. ACD dosen't pay you anything. In fact you have to pay a 30$ to ACD for their training. I sounds like your a bad agent because I also get above 90% on my feedbacks. Maybe you should listen to what they are telling you. And thats the problem, I have great performance with other companys. When I see foul play I can see it. And Rhonda and her Leads are foul .

And are you KIDDING me? Rhonda will not risk her back for anyone. In fact she told me on the phone that she won't risk her ass for anyone. She is a crooked lead and her alts are just as crooked. At least at west Im able to fix the problem if something is wrong. But at ACD Rhonda kept dilly dallying around, and like I said they would give errors for ridiculous things that I KNOW something was up. She wants her team to be in first place in order to make her look better to the top4, and she'll cut anyone she feels like. Working is to make money and help pay the bills , not abusing your agents because your not the 1st team on the scoring list. At least at West you don't have to worry about some Lead breathing down your throat at EVERY LITTLE THING that you do, which is what Rhonda and her rude Alts do. That is bad for someones blood pressure and counterproductive. Like I said at the begining they are all nice to you. But next minute they treat you like dirt. She is unethical and unprofessional and abusive. And mean for someone who says "Your awesome, its great that your on our team"! to the next day "this may not be the job for you". Obviously something is not clicking mentally with some of these leads

Here I am surfing and I come across this nonsense. I use to work for ACD. No longer with them because I took on another job. ACD is a very good company to work for if you are looking for seasonal type work. The key word is seasonal. So if you were hoping to make a career of it you were in the wrong place.

Please wake up from your dream. What really gets me is what this "nut" Jim is saying about Rhonda. Dude, that is the stupidest, dumbest crap I have heard. ACD has some great leads but Rhonda is one of the best. Ask anybody that has had any contact with her and they will say the same. Unless they are just like you, dillusional. I find it hard to believe anything you are saying. She is one that will risk loosing her contract to help others. If she was not able to help you then you are just unhelpable.

And this other dude talking about sexual harrassment against males. Give me a break will you.

Supreme that is one of the best posts on this thread. ACD seriously needs to read that. I can attest to the abuse of Leads like Rhonda and Phyliss and their demeaning rude cliquey behavior to new agents. What obsolutely disgusted me was at the begining they were extremely nice and welcoming, saying we are this "family". Then they turn on you in an instant. For me it happened when I said that I could not hear the volume during one of their meetings on ventrilo. Some of the ALTS barely have their volume up during those meetings and you could barely hear them. i told them about this and ever since that they treated me like garbage. What were good reviews became nitpicking reviews that gave me errors for saying things like "Sir" or "Maam". Giving someone an error for saying Sir? Time went by and they absolutely just degraded every review as much as they can. They even gave me an error for giving out the Strayer university referance number! It was ridiculous and it was so clear that these people just wanted me off their team or just didn't like me and decided to make it miserable for me.

Even if you are a contractor a company is not suspossed to abuse their agents like that. Rhondas abuse was extremely unethical. One minute she was extremely nice to me and was so happy I was on their team, the next day she was threatening termination. Talk about a mind play. And I am supposed to work as a good agent under those conditions? No, that is emotional and physcological abuse.

MK, I am a very competant person. I work for 2 other at home companys and 1 other one for texting. Im on the phone with ALOT of customers at my home. Places like West and Workingsolutions are VERY professional places and they train you correctly and decent. Ive worked with them for a couple years now and I am one of their tops agents, low ALC, good conversion rates, etc. You do not have to worry about some crooked Lead or Alt getting down your neck because they simply "dont get along with you" or other personal reasons.

The things Rhonda and Phyliss do are extremely demeaning and unprofessional. They are unproductive. If they do not like you, you will get fired. That is what im addressing because that is not how you treat other agents. An agent shouldn't have to worry that every other email they get from them is something threatening termination. Their training they train you on only 2 scripts, all the others they say absolutely nothing. How can the expect agents to be competent when they are uncompetent in their training and their operation themselves? Its backwards and awful how some of these leads work. In fact many workers are litteraly afraid to death to report this because they worry they will get fired, there is constant gossip.

That is NOT how ACD should treat their workers. It is unethical. People like Rhonda and Thomas make me litteraly sick to my stomach because of how unethical and unprofessional they are. If thats how they want to run a buisness then fine, but their abuses of their own workers needs to be let know.

ACD Direct I worked for this company, I don't know about sexual harrassment with ACD but my experience with ACD was NOT a GOOD experience

I am a female and I worked for ACD Direct. I currently work for 2 different work at home independent contractor companies. If you are trying to make any money working for ACD Direct I know from my experience it didn't pay much at all but if you don't have a life and are just looking for a way to kill some time then you might enjoy it. With my experience when I broke down the time I spent scheduled by the amount I made in pay each month I made MUCH MUCH LESS than minimum wage.

I do understand your an independent contractor and your not guaranteed a certain amount of money. But ethically if a person works hard and does everything they recommend for you to be successful such as learning their scripts, reads the hit list each day, studies the KB and is certified for more than just PBS Teir 1 and receives great comments on every single call review then in my opinion a ethical company wants their knowledgeable contractors to do well.

In my experience this is not the case with ACD Direct. The other companies I am working as an IC with reward you for great call reviews and great performance by giving you a fair amount of call volume. They have a program in place so for those IC's who are responisble and work the shifts they sign up to work, study product information for the calls you are taking and know your scripts, and keep your talk time down you WILL succeed.

I worked hard with ACD, I had great call reviews, I was certified on additional Tiers, spent time every day increasing my knowledge in the KB, and had thorough script and product knowledge, I even learned the Smart For Life diet cookie program. For all my efforts I was never rewarded with even a descent amount of call volume. And I understand as Independent Contractor they don't have to guarantee you an amount and thats how ACD gets away with it but again a company who cares about their IC do reward their good agents and want to keep them.

I can't say that about ACD. Even though they had good IC's who scheduled themselves alot and were sitting there ready, willing and able to answer, the calls were few and far between. And what did ACD do they continued hiring new agents instead of taking care of the IC's they had who were already knowledgable. I worked hard for ACD and I heard the same story from some of the other agents while I worked for them, so I know I wasn't the ONLY one.

It stings to be treated like that when I had the knowledge, I had the equipment and I had the motivation to succeed with ACD. It hurts when you invest your time and energy and your doing great at the calls you do get but, you don't receive the call volume to make even close to minimum wage and that hurts. Again, I am working for 2 other companies who fairly reward the IC's who show up for thier assigned shifts, and get good reviews, learn their scripts and have the knowledge to be successful.

Oh yeah by the way they PAY MORE than the .18 cents that ACD starts their agents at. One of the companies START you at .25 cents a minute as a brand new agent. Also, not only do they reward you with higher call volume but you also get invited for new programs where you can earn more money. For those of you still with ACD I am happy for you and wish you the best but I don't think you were treated like some of us. Because if you weren't making any money like I wasn't I don't think you would still be there. And that brings me to my next question how is it fair if in several months I had GREAT CALL REVIEWS, over 2300 points (which proves I was scheduling and working plenty of shifts) and trained above the starting PBS Tier 1 then how is it fair that you all are getting great call volume and making the money and I wasn't?

That right there tells me ACD needs to work on being more fair to existing agents call volume and rewarding their existing agents fairly instead of hiring alot more NEW agents to take away from existing. I am a hard worker and motivated to do well but in return all I wanted was to be treated fairly by giving some call volume that would allow me a long relationship with ACD. Instead I feel the way they treated me they wanted to get rid of me in order to continue collecting the $30 from new potential agents who in my opinion will be treated the same way I was treated.

I would like to say you cannot blame the company as a whole for their employees unacceptable behavior. Some people will put on one face for their coworkers or peers and another for management, as is in this case here. We all have personal problems and things that go wrong in our lives some are more frequent than others, that does not excuse us from being rude to people we work with that may be under our authority or just someone who seems like someone that you can push over.

I do believe ACD Direct is a good company to work for. I am sorry you went through what you claim to have experienced. I had no issues with the training that I received and I did take the time to go over the knowledge base and learn for myself and there are other training materials and presentations that you can use to help you be successful.

I can say that some of these are a little short when training or if you are struggling again depending who the Lead is. They will front like they are there for you when in reality they are not it is just for show. The pledge drive months are great as you can work as much as you like and make as much as you are able to. Calls are plentiful. You must keep in mind that you are hired to be an Independent Contractor for the company. Some months are really slower than others. Some of the people you mentioned I do agree have some issues with their attitudes and how they treat people maybe they do not realize it, some due to having more education than others tend to wear a chip on their shoulder or look down or speak in a bad manner to individuals and that is not right.

I do believe before anyone is promoted to be a team lead, alt lead, peer lead or whatever in any position of leadership they should be evaluated, put on a probationary period and trained properly as to how to deal with people, as many of us come from all walks of life and may not aspire to climb the ladder of success at ACD Direct, some are just here to have a little pocket change and you can make it.

I do believe that ACD Direct will need to thoroughly go over and even speak to those under these team leads and alts to get their honest opinions about how things are without being afraid. Some that I had met during my time were even afraid to speak up about mistreatment due to feeling that someone was in good with management it would be ignored or would either get them fired or just put them in a position where the lead would make them miserable and that is not the way to be.

A lead is someone who is trustworthy and not one to be two faced and talk behind everyone's back whenever the opportunity presents itself. Yes, I do know some that are like this and it is really sad. ACD Direct needs to do some house cleaning and get rid of those bad elements that may be giving this company a bad name. We are told what we can say and not say in main chat in chitchat sometimes conversations can get out of control and that should be monitored. No one and I repeat no one is irreplaceable, some in the company believe they are and I speak from first hand knowledge of this.

I am not sure about the events that happened to you all. I do know for a fact that some individuals mentioned and there are many more have really bad attitudes with their peers. There are too many cliques and if you are not in sorry to say you won't win. I plead with Management of ACDDirect to look deeply into these accusations and contractors behaviors. Allow all of the contractors to submit a confidential form of their opinions and suggestions to make things better.

We are on the front as IC Agents and upper management sometimes do not see everything. Thoroughly look at peoples history and characters before promoting them please again I ask that ACD Direct create form that employees can submitt anonymously about their feelings and the teams that they are a part of you would be surprise.

If some did not have to go through this they would be more successful not that people should allow others to dictate their happiness sometimes if your work environment is stressful then it can hinder you from doing and giving your all. ACD Direct I hope you are listening. Don't be too hard on some of the current agents of ACD Direct they are only going by what they see and have not truly experienced the wrath of any of these individuals. As soon as they cross the line they will sing a different tune and the line I mean say or do something that their lead does not like and watch what happens.

First, I want to say, I have worked with ACD Direct in the past, as an Independent Contractor, and I am a male. I have never had a problem with any of the circumstances Mike and Jim are presenting here. I have worked with the people mentioned without any problems whatsoever.

I no longer contract with ACDD since I am out of school and working in a salaried position. ACDD is a very decent company, and Management is very just and down-to-earth.

When you are an Independent Contractor - your contract is "what it is". You are in business for yourself. It is your responsibility to know how to perform your job. This may involve training (paid or unpaid). Other work-from-home call centers are not as excellence-driven as ACDD. ACDD expects you to be a responsible, competent individual. If you do not fit the description of being responsible and competent you probably will not so well with ACDD. It's that simple. In fact, if you do not fit that description you most likely will not do well with anything that requires self-motivation. If this is the case, may I suggest flipping burgers somewhere? If you think ACDD management is demeaning, just try working a job such as what I have decribed while you are putting yourself through college - and then you might understand what "demeaning" really is.

I have to say ACDD is easy work for the RIGHT person. There are people here who obviously don't fit well with ACDD; why can't you guys just accept that and move on.

Jim - if your health is so frail, I would think that you would try some ways to reduce stress. Perhaps maybe step away from the internet for a while and go out for a walk.

Mike - if you feel as though you were sexually-harrassed by weirdos, freaks, and females in a public training session - then I have to say it will be easy to "win" lawsuit. Simply find others in that training class and I am sure they will be more than willing to assist you. Just remember, your PAST speaks volumes when it comes to credibility in legal circumstances. And when it comes down to that, it's easy to see - that you have a tough road ahead of you. Your complaint is NOT one of sexual harrassment it is of GENDER BIAS. You can possibly get in serious trouble yourself for false reports; with this said, be careful of what you are claiming. Sexual harrassment between two people over the age of 18 via the internet is going to be really rough for you; especially where the person did not make ANY sexually suggestive remarks. Therefore what you ARE describing is GENDER BIAS. If you are discriminated against simply for being a MALE it is NOT sexual harrassment - again it is gender bias.

Again, I am a male who has worked as an Independent Contractor for ACDD. They are a great company, on its way up!

Guys, you really need to take resonsibility for yourselves. You will never get RICH working with companies like ACDD, but they will give you a decent, honest way to make some extra money, and if you do well, even give you the opportunity to make full-time income on your own terms. The only people who need to be "warned" about ACDD are the people who can't handle being an Independent Contractor.

And what do you mean by "just read them". I already read all the scripts. Their training is horrible and people like Rhonda and Phyliss make it miserable.

When you work at a job you are supposed to treat other workers fairly and justly. Rhondas constant threats of termination was bad on my health. Thomas and Phyliss are downright demeaning to the bone. I work for 2 other at home companys and I have a great performance record with them and never have I been treated the way these Leads and Alts at ACD treated me. Not only did they waste my money with the 30 free, but they wasted my time with the extremely low call volume and their "mandatory meeetings".

How can you defend that? You are SICK if you think that is ok. Just because I was an independent contractor doesn't mean jacksh*t. The feds are investigating this as we speak and said it did not matter. ACD Direct thinks they can treat people like crap, but they can't. I work in insurance and am able to pursure a case against them. They just messed with the wrong person this time. They have been harrassing people to make them quit to collect their $30 for the "background check" (which doesn't occur).

All you "employees"-did you ever deal with a black lady named "Glynnis", she was AWFUL too, such a rude person, she is the LAST person who should be interviewing people. All you employees better be looking for another job because I am contacting EVERY client about how I was treated there and they have already lost several contracts and more to come. I talked to the head guy at St Judes and he was appalled by this. I think it's great now that every time someone googles ACD Direct on the internet, all these reports come up. All you employees, why don't you get real jobs instead of that low pay ACD Direct??? I just thought it would be cool as a part time gig. Okay, first of all, I worked for acd for several years, and don't believe for one second this happened. I spoke to several girls that were actually in this training class with you and says nothing that you reported above is true. Several of them says that you couldn't understand what was going on, you just didn't get it and there fore you were removed from training.

I know the person you spoke of and she would NEVER!! do anything like that. And for one, how would you know if someone in your class is black, white, red or other wise. That I didn't get at all. Yes, it's true that I no longer work for this company, but not because they weren't a great company to work for, but because the scheduled hours slowed down and I'm a single mom raising two kids and I needed the 40 hours a week. You know up front that the back ground check is non refundable and if you don't agree to pay for it, then don't sign up. You might be upset about how things went, but to lie about what went on, please.

Do you realize that what you have done is illegal. Providing false statements about a company can get you sued, so if I was you I would either retract my statement or put in a rebuttle asap. Like I said there was several people in your training class and all of them said none of this every happend, they actually said you just weren't prepared. Being mad and upset is one thing, but filing a false report on something that never took place is another. I'd rethink that if I were you.

I think y'all are judging ACD very unfairly! I don't know about the sexual harrassment claim but to the lady who only made $40 in one month of work, weren't you aware going in that ACD has 4 months out of the year that you can earn good money? If you worked during the pledge drive months, I can guarantee that you would make a whole lot more than $40, during the pledge months making well over $40 is possible in a few days.

It sounds like you were only trained for one tier, which is the lowest per minute of talk time at .18! The more tiers you are trained for, the more money you are capable of making - it doesn't sound like you gave ACD a fair chance. If you need steady income, then you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket because ACD is definitely a seasonal position. I am very happy with ACD and have never had any issues, it's been a great position for supplimental income but definitely not one to rely on for steady income. JMO

The call review consists of your team lead or alt lead listening to your recorded calls and then gives you a grade on them. I received 90 or above on every single call review, I always worked my shifts. Even with working all of my shifts and never calling in or not just showing up and even though I received a grade of at least 90 and above on every call review I still sit for hours without receiving more than a couple of minutes of calls. I feel this company is using new hires for their benefit and nothing else. If they just happen to get alot of calls on a shift then they have coverage and their clients are happy. But they don't care about their contractors who are sitting there committed to take the calls that never come. Because they have nothing to lose if a new hire sits there for an hour and only receives 1 phone call. You get paid .18 cents per minute and they want to keep your pledge calls at 4 or 5 minutes. You do the math if you only receive 1 or 2 calls per hour shift do the math and tell me how many shifts you would have to work to make enough to pay your bills. I have found there are companies out there that rewards you with calls if you show up and work your shifts and get good reviews then you get ample calls. However, I don't feel this is the case with ACD Direct. Beware

I worked for a company once (NOT ACD!!! This was a bricks and mortar corporation and not a call center of any kind) where a man was indirectly sexually harrassed via inappropriate e-mails between 2 other individuals...the first thing he did when it was discovered was to present the evidence to his boss. And as was appropriate--it was handled immediately and the 2 individuals who did this were fired after the accusation was properly investigated.

Why did you not report this to the powers that be?

Could it be that no harrasment took place on a test call that would have been recorded?

Could it be that you didn't do very well in that job and coincidently you and the other individual decided to collaborate and create a lie?

If your accusations are true, I hope it is handled appropriately.

If this is proven to be untrue and Melissa is 100% innocent of all charges, I hope you get convicted of a crime and lose every dime you have.

Because you know it's all the TRUTH!! You think your little lame a** company can treat male employees like crap and get away with it?? LOL, you're gonna find out, I've let a TON of your clients know about how men are treated here, they are sexually harrassed and they are harrassed so they will quit. Son, you made a mistake allowing Melissa to sexually harrass me and then having that old man Dave call and harrass me on the phone. This is just the beginning, Noah.

Hey Jim, yeah man, I was equally disgusted by your report. I'm sorry you had to go through that and it just showed me further what a HORRIBLE company it is. Don't worry Jim, I'm personally going to make sure EVERYONE they work with knows how they treat male employees there. I went to the Knowledge Base and obtained all the contact numbers of ALL their clients. I have begun calling them and letting them know how they blatantly mistreat male employees. I filed the Federal sexual harrassment complaint against Melissa Houghton, who should be immediately fired. I

have consulted with an attorney about filing a suit against Melissa and ACD Direct and they think I have a strong case. They messed with the wrong person this time. By the way, Melissa has such a strong speech impediment, she is the last person who needs to be talking on the phone to people. Male employees are obviously discriminated against there. I have contacted the Utah attorney general and filed a complaint agaist ACD Direct.

I have called part owner Noah Rosales (801-430-6368) and asked him twice why male employees are harrassed there and he cowardly doesn't respond.. This is just the beginning, this is all the TRUTH and they can't do anything about it. We need to talk about this.

Wow that is interesting. I am the other person who reported against this company that you had posted on the bottom of your review. I also had the same trainer you had in training. That is amazing to hear your story. It really makes me frown to hear things like this.

When I had finished my training I was immediatly put into Rhondas group. I was told by other agenst that this was a new group and that no much was known about them. Things need to change on how they treat their agents. Their training does not train agents on all the required things that you need. Like I had said, they train you for St. Jude and one other scripts. but there around 20-30 others. And each one had all these different things and connotations that nobody taught me during their training.

Rhondas group had 2 other people working with her. ThomasOaks and Phyliss. Both of these people were extremely demeaning and rude to me. I remember one call Thomas reviewed me on, he gave me an error for saying "M,aam" and "Sir" . Can you believe that? Giving someone an error for saying Maam? It was absolutely ludacris the "coaching reviews" these guys would give me. Another incident is where I told a customer that you can pay in payments with a CC, and then they said because I mentioned that they could do it by check in the mail if they wanted, that that was somehow an error.

That makes no sense. They just wanted to pile up errors upon errors on me just to get me out of their team. They would constantly post their "rankings' of their group with the other groups, and were so worried about how they weren't in first place yet(in they were in like 3rd). I shows that this corrupt Rhonda will fire people just to make her team get higher in the rankings. Its just awful how some of these Leads operate.

The sad thing is, this group(Rhonda, Phyliss and Thomas) come off to new agents as this "Nice family". In fact thats what they call each other, a "family". Its kinda sick actually. But time goes by and they turn on you in an instant. If they don't get along with you for any reason, personally, they will make it miserable for you. My wife was worried for me when I was working for these people, because every other email they would send me would be threatening termination. It affected my health and rose my blood pressure.

It seems like they almost took pride in making it miserable for me giving me these bogus "errors". They feed off each others egos in this sick cycle. Many times I didn't even want to get on the phone and work for them anymore because I knew they would search every crack and corner in EVERY call just to get me on something. Then they would have these interviews with me , with phyliss and thomas, and they would comment to me on how they are gonna take me off this and that gate(a gate is a company) because Im "just not confident enough". Never did I feel so demeaned and belittled by those 2 people.

Ugg, I just get sick when I even think about them. And this gate was a company that they didn't even train me on during training! and they were blaming me for not knowing everything to do on those calls. Am I supposed to have ESP?

Anyway, I don't want to get into it anymore. but I see that i am not the only one who has been abused by this company. I know there are some people who like working for them(and they couldn't believe that this group was doing this to me), but ever since these new Leads have come in, it has become really backhanded and awful for agents put on new teams.
