I purchased an Acer Aspire from HSN in September 2011. Two months later there was as a huge smudge/crack like appearance on the screen. I called HSN and the only advice the representative could give me was that I should have purchased the warranty.
I then called ACER who immediately diagnosed the issue as a problem not covered under warranty and it would cost me 200.00 to replace the screen. I am still paying for this with HSN and don't think is fair. After reading complaints of the same nature on RIP OFF REPORT my decision is to take them to small claims court and report them to the Better Business Bureau. This was the worst experience and I will NEVER purchase another ACER product.

NO manufacturer's warranty covers cracked screens...

Why should a company pay for your careless handling?
Some extended warranties DO cover this, but they're rather expensive.
"I am still paying for this with HSN and don't think is fair."
Why would you think it's not fair, just because you're still paying for it?
"..my decision is to take them to small claims court and report them to the Better Business Bureau."
You can take this anywhere you like, you'll lose and look like a fool.
"After reading complaints of the same nature on RIP OFF REPORT.."
You read about Acer refusing to fix other cracked/broken screen issues under warranty?....doubtful, and if so, why would they? A MANUFACTURER'S warranty covers defective parts and/or labor.
Get over it and don't drop it or sit on it again....YOU know it's YOUR fault and the Ripoff is, you're trying to scam Acer.
No, I DON'T work for them.
