This company contacted me today stating that I had a debt from an online loan I applied for and accepted funds from. Upon doing research I have discovered that this ACS Incorp. is on dozens of scam websites and have targeted numerous people all over. The emails that have had phone numbers have been redirected overseas to nasty individuals from what i can tell from others reports in India who have become nasty and volatile when consumers asked to verify the debts or proof of a debt.

They were told there is no supervisor or manager and that the representative they are talking to is the only person who can help them. Some people affected by this scam have received harrassing calls at work and their personal numbers. I myself have contacted this company via email (the only contact method I had in my email) and requested that under the same FDCP law they are trying to collect money from me under that I am entitled to receive something in writing in the mail within 30 days in order to validate this debt and collection attempt.

I have also filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and to all others who have received an email from this company I advise you to do the same. The older emails from this company that I have seen the amount to settle "out of court" was in the 900's. However a more recent report (Feb. 2015) on this website(ripoff Report) shows the exact same amount and case number as the email that i receieved myself (870.65).

If a debt was valid wouldn't there be more contact information? Wouldn't I be able to call and speak with someone and not be forced to communicate via email? Since when does the US Government put SSN on hold? Wouldn't I in the very least be assigned my own case number? These things all scream scam to me and I would like to warn others. Do not fall prey to these scams and tricks. If you feel victimized please contact someone. There is help out there.
