Hello.

The bottom line is this:

1.  ADT raised my rates.

2.  My contract states that I can refuse those rates.

3. ADT has 30 days or I can cancel with no penalty and without paying the rest of the contract.

It's been 60 days and ADT has cancelled me out with noone stepping forward to rectify or lower my rate.  I'm done with them.

That's the bottom line.  After talking to FIVE different ADT reps, I finally got an answer.  The small print on the back of your contract states that if ADT raises the rate - you can reject to it in writing.

I did that.

It's been 60 days, and ADT states that they got my certified overnighted letter but it didn't have a signature on it..  LOL

I typed it out...

I made sure it was 16 font..

AND I sent it certified..

 

Instead of getting back with me... Instead of calling me.. mailing me.. emailing me with the new rate, they sent me a "DO YOU WISH TO CANCEL" letter...

I said YES if you cannot lower the rate back down - please cancel.

They did..

 

AND SENT ME AN INVOICE FOR THE $857 remaining on the contract.

During the first 30 days after the rate increase, I sent them two letters and talked to nine people..  I told them all that I rejected the rate increase.  They have that documented.

NOT one of the people said ... Let's get you back activated.. let's lower this rate... let's do something for this customer...

NOT ONE OF THEM!

 

Most of them are sticking to their story, "You should have signed that letter!"

"It's been 30 days.."

"We cancelled you out.."

You still owe this invoice.. it's a valid invoice..  

"We didn't know their was a rate increase..."

 

Here's my favorite one.. which is written in a letter:

We show that you rejected the rate increase, but we don't show that we refused to lower it.

EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NEVER TO THIS DAY SEEN A LOWERED AMOUNT.. A LETTER LOWERING IT.. A LETTER ACKNOWLEDGING IT.. NOTHING!!  Just cancellation letters and excuses..

JUST EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE AFTER EXCUSE... 

 

I would like this immediatley stopped..

I would like the fee waived with a letter stating so...

If this goes any further, I will get an attorney and loser pays!

Andrew:

How about providing a direct dial telephone number to a senior manager at ADT who can solve these problems on the spot without a lot of runaround? Not your call center on a monitored, recorded line. A professional, one-on-one business conversation where both sides are on equal footing. Be a man. Step up, man up and publish the name and direct dial telephone number of the ADT company official authorized to settle these disputes.
