I rented from this Property Manager and it was a nightmare in my experience.

My small business was ready for an office to add more legitimacy and bring clients in to meet with us.  We were so excited and honestly the price was so appealing, we jumped right it.

Initially, It was great.  The other tenants told me how the management was very, "Hands-Off" (boy was that the truth).  Early in my renting, I asked the owner, Doug if he could have something done about the dead flies in my windows.  He assured me his "Cleaning Crew" would be sure to look a bit closer at the window sill and clean the flies out (never happened).  in July Doug rented one of the retail spaces out to a used car lot.  This is when things got really bad from my experience.  Their cars were taking up all of the parking spaces and not only couldn't my customers park in the lot, but I couldn't either.  I was so frustrated, that I alerted Doug and he let me know that in his decision it was not a bad tenant.  He did however tell me to let him know if it became an issue.  I let him know multiple times after.

I have pictures of a water fountain that was clogged in the hallway for days after I sent the Property Manager a picture and asked him to repair.  I finally asked Doug if he could please remove the dead flies that have found their way in-between window sills (I have pictures of this as well).  He let me know that in order to do this the windows would have to be replaced and he was not ultimately ready to do that until he was ready to do the rest of the building.  He proceeded to tell me that decisions like this are what keeps the rent low.

During the summer, Agio had a contractor automate the heat to shut down at 5:00PM as well as the hallway lights.  Once the polar vortex came, one of my desks (Expensive Glass top) cracked under the dramatic drop in temperature through the weekend.  I told the property manager and he offered no assistance.

I had to start looking elsewhere for a new office.  Not only were we growing, but the office on Plaza Drive started having a negative impact on our business.  Customers didn't like coming to the office and a couple of times when a meeting ran over we had to walk them out in the dark hallway.

We found a new better location and alerted Doug at Agio Property Management 35 days in advance that we would not be renewing our lease.  He immediately asked if we would mind vacating early as he had another tenant that was interested.  Of course, we obliged and moved out before the 1st.  On the 1st there was a new tenant in place.

We still had some trailing mail and more specifically checks from our clients.  When we asked Doug from Agio if he would assist in getting our mail to us in an expeditious manner, he agreed and told me the new tenant would call me.  This alerted me and I asked why I would have to rely on a stranger if in fact I did business with him.  He ignored me for a day and then I emailed him copying my attorney telling him how important it was I gained access to my mail.  To no avail.  I literally had to knock on this poor woman's new office door and approach her to see if she would check the box.  She did and Tada, the mail was there.

I followed this up with a request that he issue my deposit in a timely manner as he had a new tenant in the space the next day so there must not be any deposit being withheld as we left the office in far better shape than when we rented it (pictures to prove it).  He replied this time but insisting not to talk to me any more and only to my attorney. He also threatened to sue me for Tortious Interference.  Basically saying that everything I am saying is unfounded lies to damage his business.  Unfortunately  honest opinions, and recalling of facts does not equal Tortious Interference but moreover a warning for potential tenants.  In my opinion, Douglas Austin of Agio Property Management is not a fair business person and he lives off of that of small business and people who do not know what a Property Manager of a Professional Business Plaza should provide.  in my experience, I wished I would have dodged this guy.

One month later and we still have yet to receive our deposit.

Other tenants were telling me about their clients getting injured on the property stepping in pot holes that were asked to be repaired and the Property Owner made the tenants insurance cover it.

I have nasty emails from this crook.
