Airtech Steamining Walt, Kent Rip-Offs Vista California

I bought a RS Buell Gas Tank from Airtech ..

Wished that I didn't. It don't fit. Has all kinds of problems with how it was poorly made..

(1) Bottom of tank was glassed in to low causing it to ride on the frame tubing and not allowing it to go forward for the body-work to match up.

(2) All the seams was a 1/4" to short, requiring glass work to the tank to match up with the stock body-work.

(3) Bottom of tank had only about .080" thickness of fiberglass. Stock tank was four times as thick.

(4) The tank sealent (Coating) was 3/4" thick on one side and barely none at all on the other side.

(5) Glass wasn't rolled down in two areas at the front of tank. Had a pocket that no sealer got in.

(6) Left side of tank has a bat-wing that's sticking up, requires glass work to fill under the wing and grind down the glass that's sticking up.

(7) Wrong side fuel fittings glassed into the tank. They put in 3/8" NPT, OG tank has 1/4" NPT

(8) No threads for the tank vent. They forgot to put them in.

Wanted to send the tank back and be refunded my money. They was having "No Part" of that. Said to grind the glass where the tank was hitting the frame. At that time I had no idea how much I could grind off. Being I was getting no where dealing with them and was stuck with what I had, decided to cut the bottom out and reglass it back in higher up in the tank shell, That's when I seen how thin it was. 

At that point I decided to make a inner tank out of 3003 H14 Alum. and not use the bottom, just the top shell. I could have used my OG tank for doing that, it fits perfectly requiring no glass work at all. 

If I had only knew that the Airtech re-pop tank was made so poorly, I would not be out close to a $1,000 messing with their junk. They said it would fit as well as the OG tank did. I found that is far from the turth.
