Thank you Ripoff for giving me a voice!

In January I ordered a soaking tub from Amazon ONLY because I knew Amazon would protect me if anything went wrong!  Sadly I was mistaken.

I was renovating our Master Bath and wanted a soaking tub.  The size was perfect, so I ordered it through Amazon from AKDY but wasn't able to install it for about a month...

Once it was installed, it was discovered that the AKDY tub leaks at the base of the faucet!

Here starts the problem and the long line of emails to AKDY only through Amazon.  That's how it works. AKDY is a third party.   It was frustrating dealing with AKDY, with only one sentence ALL CAP emails.  AKDY took no responsibility. AKDY sent me an entire faucet with exactly the same problem and refused to call me.  No matter how I explained the situation to AKDY, I would get a one sentence response and refusal to engage.  This went on a month because of this, until I contacted Amazon, using their A to Z Guarentee.  Terrible.  I couldn't belive it.  Now both AKDY and AMAZON had no caring for the buyer.  AKDY offered to pay me $150 to ship the tub back.  Quotes were about $500!  Amazon denied my request for AKDY paying for shipment even though the AKDY TUB LEAKS from the faucet and it's not my fault!  I even thought about getting new faucets but that would cost about $350 and the space to install is limited so it's not an easy fix.  I would have been happy to have that conversation with AKDY, but they wouldn't call me.

I've had the plumber by again to see what he could do, and we called AKDY.  They answered without the usual business salutation.  My plumber had a tough time trying to make them understand that he wanted instructions on how to install the faucet, just incase there was something missing, as the tub didn't come with any, but that didn't work either.  They finally sent the dimentions of the tub, not how to install the faucets.... AKDY has no one worth speaking with even if you wanted to call.

How do I deal with this?  And why is it my fault?

This whole situation has reminded me to shop local.  Deal with people who care because it's really all about customer service.  Amazon has lost a long-standing customer because all the savings don't add up to the loss on this $1200 tub.

I will say that I hope my story helps someone avoid this in the future!

Online Shopping Fraud, Amazon.com Knows Best

I don't blame you for hiring an inexperience plumber, who broke the built-in tub filler, and asking for replacement parts. If it was damaged when you received it, it's your responsibility to contact us at once. Not a month after you received it. We'd offered you a new set of filler for FREE and $150 for the labor that might cost you (we assumed it's our fault so we offered you a $150. Not shipping cost, go back to your A-Z claim and re-read again).

When you provide the images, Amazon.com already knows whose fault is it. They will decide who's going to pay for the return shipping. Eventually they know your request is unreasonable. Amazon did try to contact you TWICE but you did not respond. That's why your A-Z claim was denied.

By the way, you should mad at your rookie plumber instead of us. He's the one you paid for and can't fix the leaking with the new replacement parts.
