The previous complaint about this place is true. There is crime here, there has been a murder in Dec of 2013. It's public knowledge, you can look it up online. No one from corporate office nor the incompetent office staff alerted the residents. Cops are here regularly, night or day. There is a thief in the laundry room who steals women's underwear. It's been a problem then, it's still a problem today. My main complaint is the staff and their deceptive policies. They are quick to tell you about alleged "violations" in your contract, threatening to evict you and all nonsense but when asked if they have proof, they have nothing to back up their claims, they become agitated and extremely rude, the manager rudely fast-talks her way out of their bungling error and quickly dismisses you out of the rental office. No apologies whatsoever. Do not expect "legandary service" after you sign the lease.

Each apartment unit here is fitted with outdated appliances. An example is the ac unit. The air conditioning is not centralize, just a plain small ac unit enough only to cool a small room. Cool air leaks out of the cracks on doors and windows. There is no effort from corporate or management to replace these inefficient ac units. It get really hot here during the summer months. Very hot. This complex opened in 1975, which means this place was probably built around '73 or '74. There are pests here too, termites, roaches, rats, bird mites, flies, fleas, possums and skunks. We keep our place clean, our neighbors fortunately are clean but still we get our share of these pests. Management here does zero. Nothing. You can address these issues with them, they give you "words" instead of action. If you follow up with them, they cannot give you a straight answer. They simply say, "we're working on it."  That's it.

The parking issue is one of the irritating problems here. A resident is assigned one carport, if you have a another vehicle you can park in any uncovered parking within the gates provided you have a parking permit. The problem is, there is just not enough parking within the gates nor outside the gates. Tow trucks patrol this place a lot, if you parked within the gates without permit, you will get towed. Do not believe the office manager nor any of their staff if they tell you parking is not a problem. It is the biggest problem here. The office manager will tell you all kinds of lies just to get you to rent here, she has to because she has a quota to meet. She does not have your interest in mind, just hers. Now the maintenance. The place is maintained on the outside only, they do their best to make the place appear nice. Again do not be deceived. Come here after hours, when all the residents are back from school or work. When there's no office staff to stir you away from the bad areas. As I mentioned, maintenance here is focus only on the outside appearance. The person now in charge of maintenance is also an extremely rude and hostile person, a baboon really. A mustached troglodyte. If you have any kids, tell them to keep away from him, avoid him like the plague.

Lastly, Alicia Village is owned by Arnel Properties Management. They are notorious for skimming off money from your security deposits. They have been sued and lost. Apparently Arnel has not leared their lesson and they are still doing the skimming today. Article from L.A. Times online back in June of 2016. All this information is available online. Arnel is an unethical company, they are greedy money hungry company. They employ incompetent apartment managers. These are not "accidents" these are by design. It is cheaper to hire nitwits than to hire competent people. Competent people get things done, getting things done may actually be counterproductive to Arnel's profit margin. It will cost them money if they have a staff that will take care of the residents, it cost money to upgrade the appliances in your unit, it cost money to upgrade the plumbing, to replace the old and inefficient toilets, it cost money to get rid of the pests, it cost money to get centralize ac units, it cost money to build additional parking structures, etc.. Do not be fooled, remember the story of Hansel and Gretyl. It's the same here. I would like to add too, the trees here are dangerous, a resident was badly injured when a tree branch crashed on top of their car, the car was a total wreck. This is not the first time. Look elsewhere if you are looking for a place to live. There are other apartment complex around here not owned and managed by Arnel.
