In a nutshell, I ordered their gold kit which included a prepaid envelope with tracking and I sent them exactly 1ounce of 10 & 14K gold on January 10.   According to Alliance's website they would be paying me approx $700+ for this amount.  I had received an appraisal from a local pawn shop for just some of the gold I sent for $400.  For the next few days the Canada Post tracking website said the tracking number was invalid.  I was a little concerned but that has happened with Canada post before so I left it a few more days.  After day 5 I decided to phone Alliance and only got an answering machine with no opportunity to leave a message so I sent them an email with my concern that the tracking number was invalid.  I received a prompt reply from Mark saying that was normal and leave it a few more days.

After 8 business days I phoned Canada post and they confirmed it was an invalid tracking number.  I contacted Mark again and said something is definitely wrong because first of all the number is invalid according to Canada post and it does not more than 8 days to ship from Victoria to Vancouver.  He promptly replied that this was a once off and he had in fact received my gold and a cheque would be arriving shortly.  I received a cheque on Tuesday January 24 for approx $147, not a fraction of what it was worth.  i immediately contacted Mark to ask him to return my gold which was a guarantee they offered on their website and in the gold kit they sent to me.  It said if I am unsatisfied with their payout I can request for the gold to be returned as long as I requested it less than 10 days after cheque issuance, which I have.

I have not heard anything back from them since sending that email and have since sent one more email, again with no reply.  Not sure if I should cut my losses and cash the cheque or wait to see if I receive a reply.  I have also contacted the BBB and contacted the VPD.
