My Boss Jennifer Scheffer fired me because of all the horrible things I knew about her. The fact I would do all of her work and mine too. She took credit for everything I did. She had cheated on her husband with one of the supervisors there and she would talk to me about it, talk to me about hiring of the employees and when she would write them up..(big no-no). About how their hasn't been an African American stay working in the office because of Predudice, discrimination. I was fired for not selling a garbage container I had no autorization to sell.
Anyway she could get rid of me by now would have worked for her. She is a dirty women and the world needs to hear about the discrimation and the turn overs of Commerical and residential dispatchers at BFI/Allied Waste. Just because the world needs someone to take care of the garbage, The garbage Companies don't have to treat a person that does pick up someone else's garbage, like they are garbage.

I was "layed off" from Allied Waste (formerly BFI) and I was an Operations Supervisor who filed a complaint because I applied for the Operations Manager position and was passed over for a shop steward. I am a woman and he of course, a man. I was more qualified than him and met every requirement except one which was that I didn't have a commercial license. He only met the requirement of a commercial drivers license. He didn't know how to use a computer and he didn't have any management experiance whatsoever. After I filed my complaint I was given my first ever negative annual review, my duties were taken away and were given to the new Operations Managers idiot friend who also doesn't know how to use a computer and who was a driver. Then I was terminated. I have already filed a complaint with the CA Dept. of Fair Housing and Employment and they have begun the investigation process and I will be filing a discrimination and retaliation lawsuit against the company. I was not the last supervisor to be hired. They kept a man that was hired after me and who had within his first month failed a drug test which they covered up.

Kathy, if Mississippi is like Colorado, the supervisor does not need a reason to fire an individual, if Mississippi is a right to work state. Colorado is a right to work state.
Marty is telling the truth. I've been thru that mess here in Colorado. When I was terminated, I emailed the HR Director and I told her she got what she wanted and that is a lilly white office.
The HR Director admitted that there is a great deal of abuse at BFI and I asked her if she knew about the abuse and it is against company policy as well as race, sex, and disability discrimination, why didn't she step in and do something about it?
No response.

I too was terminated from this company. I reported abuse by my immediate supervisor and later I was terminated. There is a point system with BFI, I only had 6 points from 18pt, but I was terminated for missing two days. Another employee had over 120 points and was still employed when I was terminated.
BFI lost two lawsuits in Virginia. Do a google search for BFI discrimination lawsuits.
I talked to the attorney that represented two employees of BFI. This attorney went on to say that an attorney from Washington call him and told him that he had about 20 clients about to sue BFI for the same stuff Marty and I went thru.
Get an attorney Marty and reference this site.
