Sykes Home powered by Alpine Access supposedly has work from home cutomer service jobs available. I Was interviewed and hired recently on Aug 1 2013 after getting all of the pre-employment paperwork needed and fininshed the company was having issues with their systems, some docusign system that they use to verify your signature electronically. However, after fininishing most of the paperwork the only portion they did not process was the I-9 and a Authorization Form that has to be signed by anyone other than a realitive. So the next week starting Aug 5 I called to make sure everything was done they said I would start training on the 19th. So I get a welcome email on Aug 7 saying we are delighted to have you join the AT&T team! So after speaking with a pre-employment representive she explains that I have to redo the I-9 form and fax it back. So too make a long story short I followed up with this company everyday for 2 weeks I spoke with several preemployment representives about starting on Aug 19, but currently I am just sitting in limbo in which the company has taken all my personal info including my drivers license, and ssn card. I spoke too Kelly Sue, Lawanda Ervin, Katherine Osborn, Missy Futrell, and Amber Cain which are all part of some scheme in the preemployment department. Then I had someone by the name of Taran at 303-850-3877 to call me on Sat and lie to me saying I was all set and ready to start training on Monday Aug 19th. Then finally I was told to email someone else by the name of  Penny Ussery in which I got no communication was so ever after emailing her 3 times. So currently I am sitting in limbo in their systems after taking a urine drug test and paying $45 dollars in an background check. Do yourself a favor do not attempt to apply with this company no matter how professional they may seem to be. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

You didn't do something right......

AUTHOR: Kat in AR - ()

I was hired by Alpine Acess and just finished nesting today.  Yes, there was a glitch with the I-9, but it all got resolved.  At the time of your interview, you are given the e-mail address of your recruiter/interviewer.  You were also sent an offer letter.  You were given system access where you uploaded all of your documents and retreived the I-9 forms, got your drug screen papers and instructions for the background check.  This company DOES NOT charge for background checks!  Who did you pay for the background check?  You obviously went wrong somewhere.....   Alpine Access is not a rip off company.

It's not Sykes - it's the progam & the ones who oversee it

AUTHOR: thladybug - ()

I was orginally hired with Alpine Access in 2010 on a gaming program. Much different from the telecommunications program mentioned above. I left early in 2013 to spend time with family and take some time off. I reapplied recently and am currently in phase 2 of the nesting. As of today, I will not be returning.  As stated above there are many promises, issues and I do agree the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

I was not happy with the training I was receiving from day 10 on - I went to whomever I could to register my concerns and complaints about the trainer we had. I truly believe my trainer did not know her materials, and therefor could not convey to us anything about what we "really needed to know". I did not miss a week trying to find help to get me into a different training environment with a different trainer.

From my past experience, I felt comfortable about going up the ladder to get issues resolved. Well this time the ladder crashed down on my head. There is supposed to be a confidentiality policy that allows you to speak your concerns without fear of retribution. WRONG! I had spoken to someone on Friday after taking my final test, as I was through and ready to resign, my issues were not being addressed.

I was talked out of resigning and was told "we need you" "you were a previous top performer" "if you leave then others will follow, because they know you've worked for us before""there going to say if xxx can't make it, how can I" . I thought I'd give it another chance, and then they greet me the next morning to fire me! WOW, talk about the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

I was pulled into a breakout Saturday morning and was told I was no longer needed, that I wasn't a good fit for the program. Oh, previous top performer, but yet I'm not suited for this program at all. ???? Sounds strange right? Well I stood my ground and asked for higher ups to be brought into this breakout.

Each time they would answer with "they are aware of the decision and all have agreed" - I mentioned the lady I had spoke with the day before that talked me into staying "she is aware and was part of the meeting last evening and was also in agreement"  How tacky is that? Well I've about had all the stress I can handle as it has made me physically sick. I have packed up my AIB and it is going back as I'm typing this.

I just want to say it's not "Sykes powered by Alpine" that's bad. It's the people they choose to be in leadership and they do not provide you with the information whom to reach out to when you have an issue. HR will not return my phone calls. That's why I've decided to give up on this company, I should have went back to my original program, but thought this one sounded good for a change.

I was WRONG and just want to say, don't let everything you read on these pages discourage you from attempting to hire onto a good program. If you are interested in finding that good program, go to Facebook to the company's website and chat with someone there that is not in management. The gaming program was excellent while I was there - I was in that program almost 2 years. LOVED IT!  But from the sound of it, and my expereince, the mobile telecommunications program needs some revamping.

Good luck in your work from job hunt - there are good jobs out there! But just remember, you have to have some bad to appreciate the good. God Bless and know that a higher power has your back!

I was eventually hired after posting a similar report earlier about this same company. After finally being hired on September4 ,2013 and contacting their employment services numerous time.  I started the training which ended yesterday on 10/18/2013. The company gets a large turnover for the AT&T Mobility IRU account which a lot of work from home companies has adopted. We started out with 27 people in the training class and ended up with only 13 people before starting nesting today as of 10/19/2013. We had 2 trainers for the length of the period. The first trainer was excellent he allowed people to ask questions, got everyone involved in the environment by learning the systems and it started as a relaxed environment. I was already familiar with some of the applications and software for the AT&T Mobility IRU program that I worked for with the previous company. So I tried to assist others that were struggling with problems that they were having. The first trainer I had was amazed at my willingness to assist and wanted to promote me as a coach after the training completed. He was a black male trainer but knew how to do his job and understand everyone’s issue. The next week he was suddenly removed from his position as trainer. Then we had a Caucasian female to take over his position the people in the class ask what happen to Kwaku Grriffiths and the new Caucasian female instructor said he was no longer with the company.

Next, the Caucasian female was Mendy Pope who was the second trainer. She was totally the opposite of Kwaku Griffiths. Mendy Pope was already working over 140 hours in a single work week so she was not only a trainer but manager, coach, and ATL.  Currently as I was continuing to offer assistance to some of the people Mendy Pope had become very offensive of me in particular. I do not understand why but there was only 3 males in our group as opposed to 25 females overall.  After having Mendy Pope as our new trainer she wrote me up over personal reasons which had nothing to do with me being a new hire still in training. As of today I was terminated over personality reasons relating to the team but it had nothing to do with my performance since I had not started the job yet and I was still in nesting.

The reply is biased

this reply is ridulous.

1.M when the system goes down, your still working and do not get paid.  they have a process that you can start a ticket to get paid, but that process is so non efficient that the hours it takes to file you may aswell just forget it.

2. you set your schedule then you get a call at 6:10 am saturday morning that your late for your shift because they added you to the schedule friday night while you were sleeping......who checks their emails 24hrs?

3.  if your expecting vacation, gOod luck!  they say book in advance 2 weeks.  i booked my trip with 3 months notice and they cancelled it and now out my money.  they said they need extra hours and no vacation.  is this even legal?

4. supervisors are miserable and unforgiving.

5.  if you have the flu good luck and be prepared to work sick!  even doctors letters will not help you!!!

6.  they dangle carrots in front of your face telling you they have discounts etc.  but when you apply for them, the answer is always ill check and you never get them!

7. started with a group of 20 in training and after 9 months I am the only one left from my group!  with a 5 percent retention, what does that tell you?

8. part time is considered 40 hours and full time is 60, if this does not work for you then your not wanted.

9.  you must paint 60 hour availabiliity then they tell you when your working......never know week to week.

10.  hiigh pressure sales.  if you do not add your sale blurb in on a customer complaint call, say bye bye

11.  be prepared to get fired over anything.  lack of sales, poor availability, being sick....

Overall the benefits of working from home are completely offset with the above.  my notice just went in.

I'd rather quit then commit suicide as this is how this cmpany made me feel.......suicidal.

Good luck and may god be with you.

I am sorry you had a bad experience, but...

The company you just described, is not the company I know. I am working will Alpine Access for almost 2 yrs now and my experience for the most part has been great. No place is perfect, but I am comfortable there. The hiring process for me was quite smooth, as a matter of fact any delays was on my part, because I did not provide all the required info. They were gracious enough to give me additional time to submit my documents. Everyone I dealt with was quite professional.

Right now I know of persons who have transferred over to that program you mentioned, and I haven't heard any complaints.

My advice don't give up. I have benefits (401k, dental insurance, vision insurance) and they offer other incentives as well for differerent programs. I am a work at home agent with all these benefits. It's not a bad place to work and they have some wonderful people to work with.
