Over the past 2 years I have had 3 cars brought into this establishment. All 3 cars have had catastrophic failure within days (and in one case, HOURS) after paying them several hundred to over one thousand dollars each time. They took no responsibility for it, even though I brought the one car back 4 hours after I left with the engine seizing and boiling hot coolant spraying all over the car. They simply said sorry but how could they know there was a problem like that? What?!

The first 2 cars were donated to a local children's charity, since I spent so much to have them repaired even though for nothing, that I thought it best not to put any more money into them. A mechanic saw the problems that were not fixed. For this last car, Al's claimed it was a cracked head. He had it for 2 weeks and the day we got it back my wife could barely keep it going. It felt like the transmission was damaged. It was as if nothing changed since we gave it to him. We paid over $1100. We brought it back the next day and he had it for only half a day and claimed it was all fixed. Here we are a few weeks later and the transmission completely failed.

When the first two cars failed, he apologized up and down and was obviously aware that he could be in trouble if we pursued it. He even tried to blame another mechanic in his shop that worked for him and he hired. Before we brought back the last car, she told him we didn't trust him because of the first two cars, and he told her that he would take care of any future repairs related to this one free of charge, just so he would get the business. Even against my better judgment and a lower estimate from someone else, we took it in.

Finally when I called today to ask if he was going to stay true to his word about fixing it for free, he got defensive, said it needed a new transmission for $3000, and hung up on me when I pointed out that the cracked head that he didn't fix properly would have a direct result of a transmission going bad.

I should have learned my lesson the first once or twice. This guy would bill me for hours of labor even though he spent more of the day at the bar across the street. He shuts his shop down at 2 or 3 in the afternoon while he has my only transportation for a family of 5 for 2 weeks that then breaks down suddenly right afterwards.
