I've been a customer with ambit for a year.I've always paid my bills in full with the exceptionof asking for an extension during the month of August 2012,January 2013.Ambit requires that you pay 80percent of your bill in order to get an extension.I made an arrangement to make a 100.41 dollar payment on a bill that was 134.01,after I made a payment of 100.00 my service was disconnected three days later due to me not paying 100.41.Basically my service was shut off for not paying .41 cents.I thought this was ridiculous and asked to speak with a supervisor and was told there was nothing that could be done. I end up paying an additional 90.79 on my account for not paying .41 cents.Ambit is a rip off company,as soon as my"contract" is over in February 2013 I am leaving this so called energy company.

Ambit is a great company

AUTHOR: Davestheman - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, August 15, 2015

Sorry for your service being disconected,  probem is not with Ambit but with your local power provider. Ambit is only the "provider" of the gas or electrical provided. your billing comes directly from your utilite company.

sorry to see you had a problem with them.

Pay Your Bill In Full

AUTHOR: Guy - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 28, 2013

Why not pay your bills in full? If you write a check for $100.41, but you only have $100.00 in your bank. YOU will get an Overdraft Protection Fee or Non-Sufficient Funds Fee. Why? Because you are trying to spend money that is not available or not yours. And the bank is not responsible for your 41 cents. Will you say they are ripping you off as well??

So let's get to the root cause of this... They were kind enough to make an arrangement with you, just as they allowed the previous extension for you. (They did not have to..) Then YOU FAILED to meet your obligations. And I'm sure they informed you beforehand, that if you did not pay in full you'd be disconnected. That's why you were disconnected. It was not their responsibility to cover any portion of your bill, for the electricity YOU used.

As for the additional money you had to pay to get reconnected. That covers cost and provides security (if an additional deposit was required) to the provider. That's just part of the reconnect flow. As normally, the people that do not pay either a) cannot afford it (unfortunately), or b) think they do not have to pay their bill, because they are special. Which category do you fall in? (Yes, the 41 cents, which I'm certain you could afford, was a portion of YOUR bill, not the provider's.)

As far as you telling the other individual who commented on this to get out of your business... You should of thought about that before you publicly posted this ridiculous statement. That's whats wrong with the world today. Too many people out there thinking they are owed something. Then complain when some one or entity does not cover your own responsibilities. Wow!!

You made an arrangement with them to pay $100.41 and they graciously agreed.

Then, you pay $100 instead.

Are you an idiot or just like living on the edge?

THEY did not rip you off, YOU ripped you off...geez!
