I worked for AMC for Nearly 6 months and in those times I've had to do so many things that I shouldn't have to do.  I had to clean up after guests who vomitted, who defecated themselves, and who have made a mess.  I cleaned specifically at night as a closing usher because I'm sensitive to heat as well as I'm allergic to popcorn butter and coconut oil Even so they still had me clean up popcorn butter and get near foods cooked in coconut oil. I was terminated for 3 Write ups, the first one was because I was not trained properly on closing duties when I first started.  Second was because I was NEVER informed that IMAX glasses must have their bins emptied, and the third time was false.  One of our supervisors stated that I did not inform him I would not be able to perform my duties because under the condiment stations where we put the ketchup, mustard, sweet relish, and the self service popcorn butter dispensers, they had me clean the butter dispenser which took 3 hours, the company was in shock the managers told us that a theater was closed down for health code violations....Well I have news, every one of the theaters has multiple health code violations, because I took 3 hours to do something they assigned me and one of our managers was working on accomodating me on assistance, someone took care of IMAX glasses and other things for me while I worked cleaning the butter trays.  But a supervisor claimed I did not inform anyone that I would not be able to perform my duties when several employees heard me over the radio say I will not...the manager who was accomadating me was the one who filled out the write up and got me terminated...AMC has done this to many of our employees at our theater and it's not okay in the least.

Back it up a bit....

Just so we have this clear.  You applied and decided to work at a Movie Theater, even though you are allergic to Popcorn Butter and Coconut Oil.  Ummm...am I the only one who sees this as a bit odd.

But anyways you were fired for having 3 write ups.  All of these write ups you claim are because you were not properly trained.  Well you worked for them for 6 months, and if they all happened within a week of you getting hired..you may have a point.  But by 6 months you should have the routine down pretty well, even if you weren't "trained".  

Oh and as for cleaning the Butter Trays in 3 hours.  Unless there were several dozen, it does seem a bit excessive.  So perhaps more of the real reason was the speed at which you do things.

As for you having to clean up after guests, welcome to the wonderful world of customer service.  Why are you so special and shouldn't have to do that.  After all I can guarantee you that you are not the only one.  Or are you going to claim that when someone made a mess they left the mess until you came in on your shift.  Or is it even better, did they specifically tell people to make a mess when you are there so you would have to clean it up.

 So the theater got closed because the employees couldnt do thier job. Interesting to note. YOU went to them for a job and you agreed that you could do the job. Dont turn around and complain after the fact because you got terminated for NOT doing the job. No I dont work for them but I am a retail manager. And all I hear when I read your post is "WAAA WAAAA they wanted me to work for my money!!"

Everyone ALWAYS blames someone else for thier termination. Try and be a adult and accept the fact that YOU screwed up. Accept your part in your termination. I will be the first to shed a bit of light here. They dont want to fire you. Thats just that much more paperwork they have to do. So if you were terminated there was a very good reason.

You can sit there and cry about having to clean up vomit and poo and you have have X allergy, but in the end they would not have terminated you without a good reason. See they have to defend ANY termination to the state labor board. They dont need to put thier job in jepardy just to fire you.

Every job is required to provide the appropriate cleaning materials. This would include rubber or latex gloves. So other then the nasty factor, you shouldnt have had a issue. As for your "allergy"...are you sure its not just a BS excuse? You do seem to be full of excuses and do not want to accept responsability for your actions or lack of actions. Even if you were allergic, once again you can wear gloves.
