I recieved a call from this company and they said they would be recording the conversation. I said that would be fine and that give me a minute so I can also record the conversation. they then transfered me to a Denis who was rude and started saying they had a criminal case pending on me in the county in which I lived in for a loan I defaulted on over 10 yrs ago. I since paid the 180.00 to the bank from which I borrowed the money from. I aske them to mail me a copy of the information so I can review it and talk over with my attorney. they asked for the Number. I gave it to them and called my Attorney what was going on. they never called her. they called me back right after that and said the Attorney did not know me. I then from the advice of my attorney asked for a case number. the stated the proposition number was AAxxxxxxxx I said to hold on. I then proceeded to make a three way call with the didtrict clerks office of my county and asked if there was a case against me. she stated no. I explained to the clerk what was going on. she forward me to DA office right away. and the DA said to ask for the case number again when they got on. I then three wayed the call between American Credit, My County District Attorney and myself. Dennis asnwered and I asked him what was the case number he said the number again and asked "and this is the court case number? he stated "yes, in Criminal court at this time the DA interveined and introduced hersel and stated that they are in violation of Texas Law for treatening me on a bill. as soon as that was said American Credit hungup. I continued to give the DA office the info and a copy of the recording of our conversation. Since then I have not recieved any phone calls from this company.
