Looks like I'm not the only one who can't get a hold of anyone in AED. I called American rep from Riello in Los Angeles. I sent emails to all Riello department, I faxed Riello in Italy, I even Called Italy and left my phone number but no one returned my call.

I then made a few calls to FTC and left my telephone number. This morning FTC Attorney called me and here is what he said:

- FTC has shut AED down and they also have frozen their assets.
- There are two cases against AED, one is for misrepresentation and one for criminal investigation that is handled by another office.
- there is a scheduled court hearing this Friday afternoon 10/7/04 but you never know
with these things, it may get postponed.
- he wasn't sure how long the case will take, it could take as much as a year.
- the case is in Federal district court of southern district of Florida case number 04-cv-22431 FTC vs AED. If any money left it will be given to us based on FTC decision.

I don't know about everyone but I'm not going to sit around and see what FTC does or does not do. I called Florida bar association and got phone numbers of two attorneys with good standing. I'm going to try to talk to one of them tomorrow morning for hour and another one this coming Monday. Once I learn about what we can do I will post the information.
stay tuned.

WILLING TO SELL 3 RIELLO MACHINES ALL IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION

AUTHOR: Lissa - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 10, 2004

AARON

I am more than willing to use you as a broker to sell my three riello machines. I just cant handle the three of them especially now with no tech support, not that the support that I had before helped much.

Its funny you talking about all the time you spent on the phone with the techs. The first 3 weeks I had 2 of my 3 machines up, one of them 45 minutes to the west of where I live the other 30 minutes to the east of where I live, I spent, no exageration, 3 to 4 days a week, 3 to 5 hours a day on the phone with those guys to no avail. I ended up having to go to the hospital and then take some time off because of all the stress I was under. The people at AED and at UTECH gave me the run around severely. I have never felt so violated in all my life.

I got the same treatment from Ed. Also could never get anyone higher in the corp. to speak to me or help me.

So if you fnd a way to sell the machines or anything I will be willing to do whatever I have to.

Reillo is the Itallian Model, Apparently the Itallians don't make good equipment.

AUTHOR: David - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 10, 2004

I too purchased a machine and never received one. I purchased mine on June 3rd. I have purchased about $3000 worth of video games and movie titles, not to mention the laptop that cost another $2300. The Reillo machine IS the Itallian model. Apparently the Itallians don't make good equipment. Unfortunately, one would think that the American Model, the one with the slats on the sides would be a far better machine. From what I am understanding, NEITHER machine is worth having. How could a company miss on two seperate manufacturers of machines. They both suck. They both had problems. Not only that, but did you know that the Itallian manufacturers of this machine stopped shipping it's machines to AED MONTHS ago because of the complaints on AED. Do you think AED stopped taking money for these machines. You would be correct if you guessed "NO." They did not stop taking money for these machines. I feel sorry for anyone who took out a loan for these things.

Website UP

AUTHOR: Harold - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, October 10, 2004

I did post a website today about AED,and, I wanted to get the word out earlier and it didn't work. Site won't publish websites or links. So, without naming the site....here's a hint at the address. Has AED in it. Also has the word SCAM in it. Put the two words together and you'll find me.

Hope this works.

Thanks.

Ripoff from AED in the same boat as everyone else

AUTHOR: Peggy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 09, 2004

I have read the comments made on what has happened with AED. We are in the same boat as everyone else. We received our machine in April and did not receive the one that we were shown we would be getting. We got the Italian model and the only thing we could get out of them was that it was better than the Reillo machine.

We had trouble with the credit card reader and replaced it and it still did not work. We had to pull the machine from the apartment complex where it was located.

We are in the process of trying to get some resolution through an attorney. Don't know anything yet, but will forward all of this information to them.

Thanks

AUTHOR: Tunde - (U.S.A.)

Thank you Peter for that information and keeping us updated on whats is happening.
I have not recieved my machine, however, Ed fawlor stated that they shipped my machine on Sept 27. And he said it should arrive here in California on Oct 1. I even have emails which Ousler emailed me stating that I would recieve my machine the week of September 27. They gave me no tracking number but Ousler did give me what he called an internal number for the shipping company called North American Van Lines. I called that company and of course that number does not match anything. I am guessing that Ed Fawlor lied to me and I will not recieve my machine.

I want to tahnk you again for your information and keeping us posted on that. I wish there was a way I can talk to you directly since we are so close to each other here in California.

My Story, purchased two machines at the same time and wired $69,900

AUTHOR: Aaron - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 09, 2004

Address:

Ok guys, here's the clif-notes version of my story.

I purchased two machines at the same time and wired $69,900 (I had alread sent in a deposit of $3,600)on May 11th, 2004. I finally received my machines in September. That's 4 months by anybodies count. That is twice as long as they claimed.

After calling and complaining about the length of time it was taking to get my machines, I decided to call Cezar and speak with him about purching a new machine.

I was directed to Maricio. I spoke with Maricio and flat out asked him if I were to purchase a 3rd machine if all 3 could be delivered and up and running by August 19 because the UAB campus bookstore had their student orientation that day and I was advised to have the machine up and running to show students how to use it.

Maricio put me on hold and came back to me and assured me that would be no problem, but I had to make my purchase that week. I decided not to make an additional purchase, thank God.

Anyway, about a month later, my machines finally arrived. I guess you could say that was the beginning of a whole slue of misconceptions I had. I have this flaw that if you tell me something, I believe you first, and you will have to prove me wrong about you later.

My biggest complaint comes from the lack of truth from AED and a lack of support from UTS. Universal Tech Support was just a huge problem for me.

From day one, when I would call, I found UTS to be dumbfounded with their own ability. No kidding. I would call from either of my locations and while at the dispenser, trying to solve problems, while on my cell phone, they would put me on hold. Multiple times!

No exageration: the last time I was on the phone with UTS, I was on my cell phone for 46 minutes, and was put on hold for at least half that time. Once again, no kidding! Then if that wasn't enough, I was told that they would have to call me back in a few moments. Two days later I still had not heard back from them!

And that had happened to me twice before!!! Driving all the way out to my dispensers, (one about 35 minutes away) and needing support, and they would tell me they would call me right back and I would be standing at my machine waiting for hours for them to call me.

And when I tried to call them back, they wouldn't put me through to anyone. Stating that all the techs were busy and they would have to take my number and call me back.

Finally, I called and asked to speak with the complaint department. That is when they introduced me to Ed Farlow. What a joke. Once again...no kidding.

One of my machines' reciept printers was not working, and that I needed help to fix it.

I told Ed that I wanted to tell him my story. And I did. I spent about 7 minutes or so telling him how I was put on hold, how I was told they would call me right back, and how they left me without support after making trips to my machines.

Ed's answer? "I can't help you with that." I was confused, and so I told him, "I'm sorry Ed, I thought I was speaking with the complaint department for UTS." He assured me that he was the complaint department for both AED and UTS, and that there was nothing he could do about UTS hanging me out to dry like that.

I tried to be reasonable. I once again to tried to explain how a client needed to be serviced while at the machine, and how they had an obligation to service us after we trusted them, and gave them our business. Unmoved, Ed's reply was once again, "I can't help you with that."

So, I asked for him to send me to the person that could "help me with that." Lovely Ed then informed me that he was be be-all and end-all for customer service, and that there was no one else to help me.

After I made sure I didn't misunderstand him, he reaffirmed that he was the end of the rope in helping (or not) helping solve these kind of problems. And furthermore, my complaints would not go beyound him!

I asked him if my complaint would be recorded and acted upon so that other clients would not have to suffer through this problem, and he flat out told me that the complaint would not be recorded and that he could not help me.

So, I asked him if I was hearing him clearly. And once again he made it clear that he wasn't going to do anything with my complaint. Ugh!

That was when I became convinced that this was not a good man, and the company was a joke. I told him, "Ed, that is unacceptable!" "No business can operate like that, and this one can't either." "I expect you to hear my problems, fix the problems I am having, and record my problems so that others don't have these same problems!" "Your job is to solve my problems, period!"

Needless to say, within two days, the FTC (or whom ever it was) came in and shut them down.

So, here we all are...some worse than others due to the loss of cash and no machine. (I really feel sorry for you guys)

For those of us that do have machines, but no support, surely one of AED's competitors will be licking their chops to get AED's business.

Has anyone spoken with any of AED's competition about this?

Also, If I can find a buyer for these machines, how many of you would be intrested in selling your machines with me acting as a broker?

Got back from talking to a lawyer

AUTHOR: Peter - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 09, 2004

Sean,

I called one of the lawyers from the list of lawyers that I got from Florida bar, and he said I need to get a civil lawyer he only does bankruptcy, go figure. They gave me the name of the wrong type of lawyers.

However, I did talk to a lawyer out here in Los Angeles. He used to work for a government agency
that did similar work as FTC. This is what he said:

There are a lot of companies that bend the rules and usually they don't have the man power to go after them. FTC goes after the big violators; looks like AED must have qualified!

Two things can happen, first they could make a deal with AED. For example, fine them and allow anyone who didn't get their machine get their money back or what have you.

Second scenario is that the violations are so bad that they shut them down for good and distribute the assets. In this case the way the money is split depends on a formula that FTC will decide. For example if you haven't received your machine you get a bigger percentage than someone that got their machine but had bad support.

He said once FTC goes to court they make sure no one else can interfere with their case, which means don't waste your money on lawyer fees at this point.

He said wait until the case is over then you can team up with everyone that lost money and go after the peoplewho were responsible for your loss. This way your lawyer fee per hour is much less than if you did it yourself.

Last but not least stay in the loop and check with them frequently and make sure you let the FTC know your point of view about how you think the asset should be split among the parties. Sometimes they will take that in to consideration of how to divide the assets.
