In November 2005, my husband and I were interested in purchasing a home. I contacted a real estate agent, and explained we had to sell our current home before we could purchase a new one. We had a mobile home which was in a park. We were tired of having to pay for a lot that wasn't ours.

She told us all about her son, how he was a marine, and he had a family. She let us know he really needed a house. She talked to him about our house, and he wanted to buy it. Then she told us that he couldn't get a loan because of his past debt, but asked if we could let them pay our mortgage. Just take over the payments. We were stupid, but we did have a little knowledge to ask the mortgage company first.

At that time we had a mortgage through 21st Mortgage(they service only mobile homes), and they said it was Okay for the other couple to take over our payments, but the loan would still be in our name. We proceeded to buy the house of our dreams and weren't too worried about the other house because he was a disciplined marine.

We got our loan through Ameriquest with no problems even with the other house still in our name. Six months later we started getting notices from 21st mortgage. They hadn't received any payments in the past three months. They were demanding payment. I went to the mobile home to find out why they hadn't been paying, and found that they had gutted the house. Anything that was not attached to the walls was gone.

We were screwed. We tried to make the payments on both homes for the next six months, then the unthinkable happened. My husband lost his job. We were going to have two houses forclosed on in a few months.

We chose to file a chapter 13 bankruptcy. That was a good thing for the first few months, then our mortgage got sold from Ameriquest to Citi-financial, and they increased our interest rates. Our payment went from $1000 a month to $1100. That in turn, increased our bankruptcy payment.

Six months after we filed bankruptcy, my husband found a job. It was only part time though, and he wasn't making even three-quarters of his previous pay. Not even six months later, I lost my job. We both had very good paying jobs when we bought the house, and now we couldn't even pay our bankruptcy payment.

Our mortgage then got sold to AHMSI. I contacted them after I got the first notice they were increasing my payment to over $1200 a month. They told me I'd be able to do a Modification. All I had to do was send them the papers needed.

Over the past three months I have faxed the full package of papers to them 4 times. Everytime I fax them I call and they either tell me I am missing things or they didn't receive it. I then resend what they say I am missing. Everytime I call I speak to someone in India. I thought it was American Home, not India Home?

We have gotten so far behind on everything. While in bankruptcy we got behind on ten mortgage payments, three years of property taxes, and so many other bills. We currently owe $16,000 by October 16, 2009 or they will forclose my loan.

The funny thing about it is when I asked if I could send them partial payments till we get caught up, the lady told me that they don't accept partial payments. That we should sell everything we own, and live in a empty house. Then she told me to get money from relatives, friends, or anyone that would give us money.

With so many companies getting government bailouts, you would think somewhere in the mix, the citizens of the U.S. would get a little help too. But that's just not happening.

We were in bankruptcy for over two years. During the last year, we had a ton of calls from mortgage companies saying that if we were out of the bankruptcy they could get our payments down to a 4 percent interest rate. We'd just have to get our bankruptcy dismissed. So that's what we did. Now everyone is calling and saying no. We can't help you. You were in Bankruptcy.

We are being forced to consider filing a Chpter 7. We will lose our home, and everything else. We need suggestions on what to do. Please Help!!!
