American Homes 4 Rent AH4R Renter beware!!! Money making scam Nationwide
*Consumer Comment: Factually this is NOT a customer CENTRIC company. Rate increases UNWARRANTED then list it again cheaper
*Author of original report: I stand corrected! It's worse!
*UPDATE Employee: Rental increases do not qualify as "Scamming"
Beware of the 1 year lease agreement. This company gets you into the home only to increase the rent at the end of your 1 year lease agreement. So expect it! We were notified towards the end of our lease agreement that if we signed a new lease our rent would only increase by 50.00. Increase 50.00!!! If we chose not to resign and continued to rent on a month to month basis, then our rent would increse 150.00 per month!!! The original rent was a bit overpriced to begin with. Money making scam!!!

Factually this company is NOT customer Centric. They will list a house hundreds less nearby and then force feed you an increase. Worse, they will then list the house at the appropriate rent.
HORRIBLE company. penalizes tenants for being customers.

AH4R's reply to my forewarning to potential renters was to dispute my accusation that they were scamming people by getting them into the home only to increase the rent after initial lease term by unbelievable amounts. Their response was that "rental increases is not scamming. I stand corrected. IT'S EXTORTION!

Rental increases do not qualify as "Scamming"

It is commonplace to receive an increase in rent when your lease expires with nearly all Property Management companies. The increase can be whatever the current fair market value is determined to be for your home. A rental increases of 3% on a $1500 is roughly $50 and is common. While it is understandable that no consumer wishes to pay more it does not qualify it as a "scam." A scam is defined as:
noun
verb (used with object), scammed, scamming.
