The same issue

AUTHOR: Cox - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, April 22, 2016

I have the same issue with them, and I'm ready to join a lawsuit. How can we all cooperate if contact details are edited?

I already deailt with such small claims before in courts.

The first thing you'll need to do to sue in small claims court is to find out whether your claim meets the small claims court's jurisdictional requirements. Each state has established a maximum monetary limit ranging from $2,000 to as high as $5,000 or $10,000. If your dispute exceeds your state's limits, then you may have to file your case in a court with a higher jurisdictional limit, such as superior court.

On the other hand, if your case barely exceeds the maximum, you may wish to waive the excess amount in dispute. For example, you are owed $5,500, but the law only allows an award of $5,000 in small claims court. You can decide it is worth it to you to sue for only $5,000 rather than have to incur higher court costs or substantial attorney's fees.

Just make sure you have documentation or evidence to support all of your answers and claim.

Again, I'm ready to join.

AUTHOR: Badco100 - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, October 19, 2015

I have a ton of information and emails showing how crooked they are. They are predators and scammers taking people's hard earned money. Giving them a few weeks and then reposes the equipment and then do the same to the next person. I would gladly join a lawsuit against them. They took me for over 7000.00. How do we get together in here and exchange information to get this thing put together?

I walked away from american truck group 3 yrs ago. They screwed me on 2 different trucks and i ended up walking away from $9000.00 dollars. there was a class action filed against them a few yrs ago with the MS attorney general. I submitted a compaint to be part of the class action. Waist of time. I sumitted it 3 times. Email, mail and fax. they claim they have no records of it. I called 15 differnt lawyers in MS. No one would help me. They have investor in that company that no one will touch. I contacted OOIDA. they new exactly who they were. at that time they had over 100 complaints on them. I also contacted the IRS about them collecting 2290's on trucks that already had them.

Nothing. I contacted the DOT, about them using used parts to repair trucks and handing out inspection stickers without doing a inspections. Nothing. Also ripoff.com did a IP search on the people that left good commments and found that all the comments came from the same IP address in MS. so dont beleive any good comment. because there are none. It's like there Obama, untouchable. As a professional driver and not a customer of ATG I have been reading these reports for months and it just makes no sense that a company that seems to be doing something to help drivers that want to become self employed Independent truckers would spend countless amounts of money to purposely screw the customer. I have thought about renting a truck with ATG but all of these negative things of course made me think twice but now I'm wondering in some cases is it the customer h*** one guy is even blaming Obama now that's priceless!

I will say this, if you are not prepared to operate a business meaning having working capitol after your downpayment don't do it, also if you are a ccompany in business to help customers with D credit and want them to succeed then work with them and not against them and in the end everyone succeeds. Good luck to all

Contact Federal Law Enforcement

The act of taking money over the phone to defraud an individual fall under wire fraud. So if you put money down on a truck you did not recieved and can show that they presented one truck and gave you another truck this is bait and switch tactics and is illegal. You can also contact the GBI{ Georgia Bureau) as they have a location Georgia and AZ Dept of Public Safety as they have a location in Phoenix AZ as well. These people have been doing this for years and should be delt with and prosicuted to the fullest extent of the law. Enough complaints are filed with the FBI and All State office they will have to look into it. Charging someone for a 2290 more than once is tax fraud and can be looked up by inquiring to the irs by vin number. The 2290 is placed on a Vin not an individual. Also they represent these trucks as Rentals not Leases You have no rights to them and they can take them back at their disgression.

#15 UPDATE Employee

In a perfect world.

AUTHOR: ATG Reality Checker - ()

POSTED: Friday, September 05, 2014

As an employee of American Truck Group I see first hand the issues I've read about here.  Almost every complaint I see is the result of an action we took to HELP a customer.  To paraphrase complaints - "they have an application fee and they sell trucks so fast that one won't last an hour posted on the web "   Both of these things are a result of how SUCCESSFUL the program is for serious applicants.

The $495.00 approval fee is charged to process an application which involves many people at several locations all working together to enusure much more than income and where you live.  We underwrite the entire process that ensures experienced, qualified drivers are behind the wheel of the trucks a company gets through us.  MVR or insurance, haul source, cdl, med card, refennces, tags, iftas, home address, criminal history, and much more, are accurate, and compliant through checks and balances.

These trucks aren't toys, or a ford taruaus car out for a weekend.  These rigs are huge, deadly, and complicated pieces of expensive equipment that we qualify company and driver ability in several areas before tossing the keys thank you very much.  This process takes much time and effort.  The fee is nonrefunable because these tasks are performed whether you choose to get a truck or not once the approval process is complete.

The fee is non-refundable to ensure that an applicant knows his paperwork won't be bogged down by thousands of "free applications" that will bring the entire process to a complete hault meaning NO one is able to get their paperwork completed.  The fee guarantees OTHER applicants won't waste your time, and vice versa.  If it were refundable, by definition, the application wasted the time of every driver waiting for theirs to get finished behind it.

If you feel getting your paperwork done diligently without other applicants holding you up and that by selling trucks literally within minutes of them hitting the web site all is proof we are doing things wrong... I'm very glad you decided not to paricipate in a process that has otherwise helped thousands of drivers over two decades get on their feet or stay on their feet  The only free thing we can do is NOTHING.

Each step we take to do something that benefits the customer gives a customer the chance to complain about it.  We offer warranty, so customers can complain its a rip off.  But if there was NO warranty, they wouldn't have anything to complain about at all.  Customers complain because our tow truck will take two days to get the truck back to a branch and we are ripping them off by making them use our shop.

In reality, they get free towing within 500 miles of a branch.  Their payment is waived after the first day while in our shops, and we offer some kind of warranty going out as far as four years... the fact we have these services in such a customer's mind is ripping him off.  He would'nt of complained a bit if he had NONE of this available.  Its BECAUSE ATG tries in so many ways to offer assistance that the very help it tries to give is seen as not cheap enough, fast enough, or good enough by people who otherwise would be paying for everything on their own, while still owing their high interest ready to repo lender the payment due in three days.. but at least they wouldn't be complaining about the fact they are being helped in the first place. right?

lawsuit

AUTHOR: kcnweze - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, February 11, 2014

hellow, my name is kingsley, i want to let you all know that you are not alone. i am also their victim. i leased a truck with them with option to buy. before the deal, they make me pay $450 for cradit approval which i did. then i ask questions like terms and conditions and the sales person told me that it will be discoused when i get there. i told him i need the details so that i dont get my self involved in what i can not afford and he said that they will work with me on any payment i can afford.

i ask about condition of the truck and the millage and he never disclosed the millage but he said that truck is in exellent condition. i said ok i will make payment when i get there but he ask me to wire the money before coming or they will sell the truck so i wire $6400. when i got there the truck has over 950,000 mils on it and i had no choice at that point.

they put me on $575 weekly payment which i declined but they said if i need my money back that i cant get it in full. at the end of the day i ended up taking the truck.

two days later it was raining and it was raining more inside the truck that it was raining out side. when i called them, they were only interested on my payment. the next day, truck broke down and they want me to drive 925mils to golfport or atlanta to fix it and i ask who pays for the deseal and there was no answer. i had the truck for four weeks and i was in the work shop five times.

as for my weekly payment, they never stick to what we have on the agreement, they are charging me $647 instead of $575, later they increased it to $740 and i ask why they said my licence plate is $2500. at this point, i requested that they give me a statement of what i am paying so that i will be on the same page with them and they refused up till this time.

at the end they took the truck and refused to give me my deposite as the contract says. so please if there is any one out there who is filling a lawsuit i am 100% in, please contact me on kingsleynwigbo@yahoo.com

Do not deal with these people

AUTHOR: Maylean - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 17, 2013

 Hi,

I signed a contract with these people, back in March to get a truck.  They would not tell me the payment amount on the phone.  I was told, that we would talk about that when I got there.  They told me, I would be satisfied with the arrangement, on the payment.  This was on the 1st attempt to get a quote on the payment. The second attempt to get a quote on the payment, I was told that everything would be rolled into one payment insurance and everything.  They didn't mention wheather it was monthly or every week.  I told them that I could not afford a large monthly or weekly payment.

I went down there to pick up the truck, it was as though they were trying to rush me off the lot, with the truck.  The photo they sent me of the truck before I wired my $5900.00 down payment from my bank, was not the same truck I was now looking at.  It looked like  it in it's appearance which was a gold freigtliner 2006.  It was gold like the photo but the inside photo was different, everything in the photo was not broken.  When I got into the truck the truck was tore up from the floor up.  The door on the cabnet would  not stay closed when i turned the corner while test driving it.

The shelves were falling down on my daughters head during the test drive.  All that, was just the cosmetic portion that was wrong with the truck so far, the salesman, assured me that cosmetics was the only issues that it was a good running truck that would allow me to make money.  Once we signed the deal and we pulled off the lot, got under a load, it broke down about two days later. The warrenty deductable was $499.00 on any repair that is done, for the first 30 days. Of course, we had to replace an air line, this was somthing only a mechanic could do.  That was $242.00 plus the towing of $200.00,  the list of repairs goes on.

The truck is in the shop right now as I'am writting this complaint, it broke down for it's last time with  my driver in it on thursday May 9th 2013. They stopped bugging me about a paymnet, because like I explained to them that J b  hunt whom I'm contrated to as a carrier took their load off of that truck and had to put it on another one to complete the job.  American truck Group is expecting me to fix this truck now, that has no warrenty on it, except for the 50/50 warrenty that is only good in missisipi- Gulport and they will pay 1/2 and I pay the rest.

They have caused me to loose alot of money as well as any potential money to be made, due to the worthless peice of equipment that I rented from them,  if you rent a truck in this golden rental agreement the repairs should be on them or on the insurance coverage that they make you take out. with all the repairs I still took care of the repairs and still paid my weekly rental note every week, until this last break down.  Because it clearley states that if your truck is in the shop longer than 16 or 17 hours they will meet the payment.

Far apart from that I have made good money but the cost of the repairs, and the $893.00 payment  with a finance fee of a previous repair that was supposed to be coverd under warrenty had to be made every week.  Pleople please read your contract better yet, don't do business with them, because there outfit is set up to play on the weaknesses of the people that do business with them.  Now if I'm not careful they will try to put something negative on my credit report.  Lol.

By the way did I mention that when it rains, the truck leaks, and the light fixtures are filled with water.  I plan to right letters to everyone that will listen. And, call all the people that I can, and make enough noise, to be heard.  With each copmlaint I'am asking that everyone would please give a full detail description of the truck that they had rented from American truck group.  If I can be of any assistance  to anyone that need my testimony or imput, please  email me at (((email redacted)))

They Changed their name to American Truck Showrooms atsTrucks

AUTHOR: louis.normand.stole.38k - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 14, 2013

They changed their name again from United Truck Group to NoCreditCk to American truck Group and now to American Truck Showrooms. They are still the same scam company and Truck Capital is now National Truck Funding. They may change their name to Green Planet Trucking or Investment Group Holdings or Global Transportation Reinsurance Company LTD or City National Precious Metals or atsTrucks or whatever sounds legitimate but does not carry with it the same reputation of lying, stealing, and dishonoring everything they agree to on the phone, in person, or in their 30 something page contracts.

Read about these other companies I listed here on the RipOff Report, the ttuckers forum, or the BBB which rates all Louis Normand Jr's companies (same company) with an "F"

ATG CONDUCTS DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES THAT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL

AUTHOR: Saleenster - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, September 30, 2012

I purchased a truck with this company last year and it has been nothing but a nightmare from the beginning. I wish I had visited this site and seen all these comments before I wasted thousands of dollars with these people. Everything I've read so far on this site about ATG is absolutely true. This is a company that takes advantage of ambitous people with weak credit trying to become an owner operator or start a small truck company. There 50/50 warranty is garbage. It only applies at there service center in MS. For an OTR driver this is not practical. The one time I happened to drive through there and get work done, the labor and parts cost are exaggerated to offset there contribution. What should be illegal is there sales tatics. The pictures they advertise of trucks on there website and truckpaper are not even on there lot but are from other dealers selling them. I could only wish that with enough claims and disputes that there will be a class action suit against them to prevent others from following the same fate myself and countless others had. Please save your money, and give a few months for your credit to heal and go buy a truck from a reputable company like Arrow truck sales if you want a Volvo so bad. You will come out so much better by actually financing a truck and not dealing with a B.S. rental program paying $1600 monthly for a truck you dont own.
